Characters involved: Theresa, Marwell, and Chloro

Edited out most of the moving around.

I have continued to run supplies to the people of Maerone as much as I can.
After having no luck finding a member of the Rising Sun, I decided to travel back to Caemlyn and waiting for someone with some higher standing to speak with.

Marwell has arrived from the east.
A strapping Queen's Guard soldier has arrived from the east.
A bloodstock stallion has arrived from the east.

Marwell sits down and rests.

Theresa says 'Has there been any movement on the front to help the refugee crisis on Aringill?'

Dartes strokes his chin thoughtfully.

Dartes says 'What are they refugees from?'

Theresa says 'Seem to be coming from Maerone.'

Dartes says 'Are the Cairhienin mistreating their citizens?'

Theresa says 'More of just letting ruffians run wild.'

Dartes frowns, eyes sad.

The Caemlyn cityguard has arrived from the east.

Marwell says 'if youre speaking of the grey men, they are part of the shadow'

Theresa says 'Yes, they are.'

Marwell says 'and shadow spawn are all over these lands.'

A bloodstock stallion cocks its head up sharply.

Theresa says 'What is Andor doing to stop them?'

Dartes says 'There are poor refugee citizens there too.'

A gray palfrey pricks its ears forward and looks alert.
Marwell says 'not much we can do except fight them'

Eeva has arrived from the north, riding a gray palfrey.

Marwell says 'which we do at any and all opportunity'

Marwell stops resting, and clambers on his feet.

Theresa says 'For a mere two hundred thousand crowns you can set a patrol in Aringill!'

Dartes nods at Marwell.

Theresa says 'Would help keep your citizens safe.'

Marwell says 'you offering to pay for that?'

Theresa says 'We all know the Queen's fortune could pay tenfold.'

Dartes says '200,000 crowns sounds like it could save countless lives.'

Marwell says 'our queen prefers to send troops thru on patrol one in a while'

Dartes says 'The wealth of Andor is legendary.'

Marwell says 'for none of that cost'

Theresa says 'So saving some money is worth the loss of innocent lives.'

Theresa lets a long frown cover her face.

Eeva leaves north riding a gray palfrey.

Nidle has arrived from the north.

Marwell says 'perhaps you should talk to the queen'

Marwell says 'im just a soldier'

Theresa says 'Seems the Queen does not talk to peasants!'

Marwell says 'i dont decide how or on what money is spent'

Theresa eyes Marwell with confusion, 'You are a Lord!'

The Caemlyn cityguard has arrived from the north.

Theresa says 'You have power here good sir.'

Marwell says 'pffft'

A gray palfrey swishes the flies off its back with its tail.

Marwell says 'I have superiors like everyone else'

Nidle cocks his eyebrow

Dartes says 'Perhaps you could bring it to Captain Adael's attention.'

Theresa says 'With enough pressure put on those who make decisions, anything can happen.'

Marwell says 'she did'

Marwell says 'I was there'

Dartes says 'Ah'

Theresa says 'I will continue to bring this up until someone does something for those that cannot defend
themselves.'

Theresa shakes her head in disbelief.

Nidle crosses his arms and leans against a post, watching the conversation unfold.

Dartes stops resting, and clambers on his feet.

Theresa says 'Sad to say, it is even worse in Maerone.'

Dartes inclines his head in greeting to Nidle.

Theresa says 'Though, the Rising Sun never seem to rise much to speak too,.'

Marwell says 'Aira is on now'

Theresa says 'Lady Aira, is busy much of her time awake.'

Theresa says 'Do not think I have not tried!'

Dartes smiles, eyes twinkling.

Marwell says 'I’m sure she'd love to discuss it'

Frey smiles happily.

Dartes nods at Marwell.

Dartes says 'I think Lord Marwell is right, perhaps you can bring it to her.'

Theresa says 'I bring it to all that can make a difference '

Marwell assumes an offensive striking posture.

Theresa says 'Whether it be Andor or Cairhien.'

Dartes says 'Perhaps a joint effort between Andor and Cairhien could solve the refugee crisis.'

Theresa says 'Maybe I should visit the White Tower.'

Theresa says 'The Gray may be able to help'

Marwell nods in agreement.

Marwell says 'good plan'

Marwell says 'the tower pulls strings everywhere'

Dartes frowns.

Theresa says 'I shall let them know you will be a liaison for Andor though.'

Marwell says 'they'd only have to send one Sedai, instead of a whole division'

After this exchange, I figured nothing would come from Andor, so I traveled to Tar Valon to hopefully find a Gray Ajah, Aes Sedai that may be able to talk some sense into these two nations. After a week or so of waiting I met Chloro Sedai.

Meeting Room of the Gray Ajah
Large, leaded glass windows surround the room on all sides, save the
southern where a large doorway leads out into a antechamber. The room
itself is dominated by a large wooden table around which sits at least
fifty matching chairs, something close to a record for the White Tower. In
the middle of the table are an assortment of unused parchments, quill pens
and stoppered ink jars. A small stand off to one side of the room holds a
large number of glass cups and a large pitcher of chilled water. An
inscription in fine lettering is etched upon the windows.

Door east: door
A large round table built from black oak dominates the center of the room.
Chloro Arovni is standing here.
A silver-haired Aes Sedai sits here, reading.
A Gray Sister walks here, considering her options.
Annoura Larisen is here, weighing your words.

Theresa says 'Again, thank you for taking the time for me.'

Chloro gestures at the doors with her hand.

Theresa looks around in awe of the beauty.

The door silently swings shut and lock with a soft *click*.

Theresa jumps back, startled.

Theresa says 'You Aes Sedai have so many neat tricks.'

Chloro moves into the room tisking at the lack of chairs. "Annoura I believe we need more chairs."

Chloro says 'Annoura I believe we need more chairs.'

Annoura Larisen glances around the room.

Theresa smiles at her.

Annoura Larisen says 'Yes, it does appear we are short a few for this meeting.'

Annoura Larisen steps out, then returns with an Accepted following close behind.

Annoura Larisen looks over her shoulder at the girl.

Annoura Larisen says 'Child, help us move some of these chairs around the table.'

A dutiful Accepted curtseys gracefully. 'Yes, Aes Sedai.'

A dutiful Accepted grabs a chair and quickly moves across the room.
A dutiful Accepted drops a stout oaken chair.

A dutiful Accepted makes her way towards another and shuffles it into place.
A dutiful Accepted drops a stout oaken chair.

A dutiful Accepted avoids making eye contact as she lifts another chair.
A dutiful Accepted drops a stout oaken chair.

A dutiful Accepted gets a last chair and sets it with the others around a large table.
A dutiful Accepted drops a stout oaken chair.

Theresa says 'Thank you both so much for this chair.'

A dutiful Accepted dips into a final curtsy and leaves with haste.

Theresa sits down on a stout oaken chair.

Theresa eyes the chair stating, 'These are so beautiful.'

Chloro nods to her sister. "It is good to see most girls still respond swiftly."

Theresa says 'Forgive me again but this is my first time in the Tower.'

Theresa says 'Everything is so exquisite.'

Theresa says 'So, I had been given a task of finding a village or town and finding out what they need and how I could help is why I sought you out. '

Chloro moves to her spot at the large round table taking her high-backed chair on the south-westbend. "Please have a seat, I have to admit, my experience was much the same during my first few months here."

Theresa says 'Honestly, you may not be able to help but once I am set on a task I am going to go all
out.'

Theresa blushes that she sat down before being invited to.

Theresa says 'I had not traveled much outside of Amador before I left Amadicia for good. I found a town of Maerone that is in desperate need for help. Refugess flee and many are murdered in the streets.'

Theresa says 'I do not believe Andor nor Cairhien care in the slighest. Neither have responded much or cared to talk about the matter in person.'

Theresa lets out a sigh and lowers her head.

Theresa says 'But I have heard your Ajah are expert negotiators!'

Theresa taps her leg up and down, eying the room.

Chloro ponders the question and pulls a ledger out of the pocket on the back of her chair quickly reading down the list. "As it would happen, you may have come to the right place for this question. We keep track of many things, and Wisdoms just so happen to be my forte."

Theresa eyes widen as she was expecting the worse.

Theresa says 'That is so great to hear.'

Theresa says 'No one else has listened to me.'

Chloro says 'Maerone is indeed in need of much assistance, however, towns like these are not uncommon during wars. Many wish to help, however few know where to start. Usually either Aes Sedai, Wisdoms, or a random military will intervene. '

Theresa says 'So far, I have taken many supply runs to give them clothing, food, water, and even soap.'

Chloro says 'The issue now is most are spread so thin with the blight stirring and the invasion to the west, it often feels as if the light is dimming at times.'

Theresa shakes her head stating that was a long trip to Arad Doman and back.

Theresa says 'Yes that is true.'

Theresa says 'I am honestly ignorant to what really goes on out in this world.'

Theresa says 'I have learned so much in a short time fleeing the oppression of the Children.'

Chloro looks to the girl, her cool gray eyes weighing and measuring her. "The Children I view as a
necessary cult, their teachings are misguided however they are ever on the lookout for darkfriends. If only more ventured north to aid the borderlands in turning back the trolloc hordes."

Theresa says 'I must say, that is surprising to hear from an Aes Sedai.'

Theresa says 'Most just spill vile, but living so close to them, I could do without'

Chloro smiles warmly her face remaining a mask of serene calm."Grays tend to think differently than most, the big picture is our canvas and the strings between our battle grounds. In the tapestry of the wheel, the children have their place."

Theresa nods at Chloro, "Honestly, it is great to see that. I have not come across much, how do you say? Level headed thinking. Most just seem to jump to a though or conclusion and run with it."

Chloro motions to the walls around them. "The white tower tends to train that out of our initiates,
we demand more of the woman who seek to one day wear a shawl than the outside world would. In time,
we all begin to see the patterns, it is the reason the old know to move slower with determination
while the young brazenly launch into battle at the drop of a pin.

Theresa follows the motions of Chloro. "It is good to know that there are some people still left willing to remain calm to help guide those that need it to keep what we have and hopefully even improve it.

Chloro says 'What do you know of the mission of the Aes Sedai? What is our main goal, from your
perspective?'

Theresa runs her hand through her hair while looking around thinking of what to say. "Well, I only know from what I have heard from the Children which was to destroy the world due to being darkfriends. However, I knew that was not really true...or assumed it was not. I know each Ajah has their own mission. I assume the generic answer is to prepare the World in each Ajahs own way for the Last Battle."

Theresa says 'Just a guess on my part though.'

Chloro nods and looks to the girl meeting her eye to eye as she speaks. "Our goal is to help humanity survive the last battle and bring as many as we can through it. We know not all will survive, my sisters give their lives to ensure we have a fighting chance. Without unity and working together the nations would fall like dominos and the continent would be lost to the shadow.

Chloro says 'However I believe your question focuses on one group of threads in particular.’

Theresa looks more relaxes sounding more confident. "And that is sort of what I had picked up on and hy I came to you. Helping those survive in our war-torn towns would be more beneficial for that
last battle."

Chloro runs a finger on the ledger before her finding a specific entry. "To the best of my knowledge
confirmed through my network, the town of Maerone has no current wisdom."

Theresa says 'It is true, the house was empty when I checked.'

Theresa says 'Some beautiful herbs had been left though.'

Chloro says 'I assume you were met with quite the collection of dust, it seems now wisdom has been in residence for quite some time.'

Theresa says 'I was, I cleaned them off the best I could in case anyone returned but with the state of that place I assume the worst.'

Chloro says 'Then back to your original question, why have you sought me out. What question of Maerone do you have?'

Theresa says 'Well, if Andor and Cairhien does not care. I was hoping those that are expert at negotiating may be able to talk some sense into them.'

Theresa says 'I am just some random girl that no one knows but an Aes Sedai! They may listen.'

Chloro says 'Ah child, that may be a misconception.'

Theresa tries to sneak a cookie out of her bag and eat it without being noticed.

Theresa frowns.

Theresa says 'Well if that is the case, I sincerely apologize for wasting your time.'

Chloro says 'As you see much distrust surrounds our sister hood in the nations these days. It may help or it may hinder, however, a good way to get some notice would be to ask those who need your services to travel to Maerone if they are able.'

Theresa nods at you, "Fair point and I can at least say I tried."

Theresa says 'Would it be inappropriate to ask that if an opportunity arises you could try?'

Theresa says 'In the meantime, I can continue my supply runs.'

Chloro says 'Often, seeing the state of things first hand yields more results than letters can. I however can state that I will make a personal visit to Maerone to offer what aid I can. If you’re training where in my care, you would learn subtle context often brings many to the table. Many will question why I spend time in that town and come to see for themselves.'

Theresa says 'That makes perfect sense. Maybe if I am lucky enough to become Wisdom one day, people will pay more attention to the matter.'

Theresa says 'I can only say thank you for even taking this meeting and doing anything to help no matter what it be.'

Chloro says 'Oh I believe they do already, however seeing and doing are two separate things. Maerone needs leadership within its community to rise above its current state. Perhaps seek to fill that role.'

Theresa says 'That is the goal, I have now set for myself.'

Theresa says 'No one deserves what they are going through.'

Theresa wipes a tear off her face, "I thought I had it bad near Amador and those poor people are murdered daily."

Theresa composes herself, "Sorry for letting my emotions overrun me."

Chloro says 'Wisdoms in my experience do far more than mix cures. They are often on town councils and make hard decisions others may not be able to. Your training will be similar to a tower initiate, and I will help in any way with your training as I can. '

Theresa says 'It is truly an honor to have someone of your status say that. '

Chloro allows a small show of sympathy on her face."No one can know why the wheel weaves as it does child, we can only move forward to make it a better turning than it once was."

Theresa looks into your eyes, "And that is the truest of statements we can all abide by."

Chloro says 'In kind, I would like to hear from you should any events transpire in Maerone, good or
bad. A lack of knowledge kills just as much as fool hardiness.'

Theresa smiles and nods slowly, "I can do that Aes Sedai. More information on the happenings is best."

Theresa nibbles on her cooking trying to be inconspicuous.

Chloro says 'Good then, we have had a productive decision your elders will be pleased with. I believe many of our Accepted are leaning towards the healing arts. I will spread word of the need of it in Maerone.'

Theresa says 'Thank you again for just listening. Just having someone do that makes it worth it.'

Theresa steps towards you, learning in for a hug but stops short.

Theresa says 'Are hugs allowed?'

Chloro smiles warmly and stands embracing the girl in a hug her Aes Sedai mask of calm never wavering."In some circumstances they are."

Theresa says 'I am just coming in then.'

Theresa leans in for a soft hug, "Thank you Chloro Sedai."

Chloro says 'Now child before you leave we shall see about some supplies for your Town, come with me.'

Theresa stands up.

Theresa says 'As you wish.'

Chloro gestures with her hand.

The door smoothly swings open.

Theresa starts riding him.

Theresa senses Chloro is channeling saidar.

A bright slash of light dilates into a gateway to another place.

Chloro steps through the gateway.
Theresa follows Chloro through the gateway.
A Dusty Track
Here, at the edge of the village, you can see a steamed-up window on a
wall of a building westward and a flint and brick cottage towards the east,
beyond a hedge. Further north, towards the edge of the village, it becomes
increasingly difficult to tell where the countryside starts and the road
ends. Still, the road to the south is easy to make out, albeit surrounded
by hedges through which there are paths leading to varous cottages.

Theresa feels an odd disturbance in the Pattern here.
A glowing portal hovers here forming a gateway to another place.
A gray palfrey prances skittishly nearby, being ridden by you.
Chloro Arovni is standing here.

Theresa looks around
Theresa emote: Theresa looks around

Theresa says 'Now that is a first!'

Theresa says 'Amazing!'

Chloro says 'Now your stomach may seem quizy, that is normal. Chewing on mint tends to help.'

Theresa emote: Theresa looks over the side of her horse as she vomits.

Chloro says 'Interesting, does this down not have a barrel?'

Theresa shakes her head.

Chloro says 'Then where is a common Area for you refugees?'

Theresa says 'I would say the old ladys house'

Theresa says 'She is just west of the Wisdom house.'

Chloro starts following Theresa.

I then took her to the home I was speaking of.

An Ivy-Covered Cottage
In this typical country cottage, six wooden high-backed chairs surround
the kitchen table, itself made from a solid slab of pine. An iron-banded
wooden vat serves as a bath for the whole family, and the bench in front of
the simple fire is used for drying off. A simple coal-stoked stove in the
corner is the other source of heat, and has hooks above it with
copper-covered pans hanging down. The village road is back through the
cottage garden to the south.

An old woman stands here mixing a pouch of herbs.
Chloro has arrived from the south.

Theresa nods in agreement.

Theresa says 'This would be a great place.'

Theresa says 'Good day ma'am.'

Chloro moves to the table placing out some food.

Chloro drops a plate of roast potatoes and turnips.
Chloro drops a plate of roast lamb with apple jelly.
Chloro drops a plate of hot stew with some bread.

Theresa says 'I know you said you would help me if needed do where we are.'

Theresa says 'so here....'

Theresa says 'Please distribute as you see fit until I can return.'

Chloro says 'The tower puts alms out daily for the unfortunate. '

Theresa says 'That is very kind of you.'

Theresa runs up and hugs you again, "Thank you so much, these people will be so grateful."

Chloro says 'It is our duty, many of our girls, the Amyrlin included, were once among their kind.'

Theresa says 'It is always good to remember where you came from. Very honorable. '

Chloro says 'I will share your plight with the Yellow Ajah sitters, perhaps they will be able to assist in some of the matters discussed. '

Theresa says 'Would be wonderful, thank you again for just this. Anything more is just a blessing from the Creator.'

Chloro smiles warmly. "I will expect a report from you in a weeks time of any current events that make effect this place."

Theresa meets the smile. "I shall keep you informed."

Chloro says 'A simple letter will do (forum mail).'

Theresa Easy enough Aes Sedai.

Chloro says 'Then for now I will leave to aid your people, and return to the tower.'

Theresa Yes I shall stay here and continue to assist.

Theresa says 'oops'

Chloro stops following Theresa.

Chloro says 'Light Illumine you child.'

Theresa says 'Creator protect you, Aes Sedai.'

Chloro opens the woodendoor.

Chloro leaves south. vv

The woodendoor closes quietly.
