A log where Chloro Sedai finds Wearied Novice Amilesa in the Tower Square talking to Accepted Lexiane, and enlists her aid to give Ivran a tour of the Tower. Ivran is hopeful to find a role within the Tower, was appreciative to see a deeper look. After seeing the Tower Grounds, Amilesa shows Ivran various landmarks of the city, then the hollowed cave and horned lizards of the island.

For those who want to know more about what is within the Island of Tar Valon.

There was a lot of moving about and some fighting spiders and horned lizards that were removed, so I tried to add a Summary every step of the way.

Summary: Amilesa and Ivran make quick introductions under the archway of the Tarlomen's Gate, and they explore the gates and out paths.

Tarlomen's Gate
Wide enough for fifteen men abreast, the gates allowing access to the Tower
grounds are iron bound. The gilded Flames of Tar Valon set high up in the
thick timber have been polished to a shine that a Tinker would find
satisfactory. A cool river breeze wafts through the gate, making the trees
and bushes in the grounds to the north rustle and sway. The pale shaft of
the White Tower lies to the north, reaching a hundred spans into the air.
[ obvious exits: N S ] [ S: TarlomensGate ]
A guard stands here monitoring the people entering the Tower grounds.
A middle-aged officer is here controlling his subordinates.

Ivran has arrived from the south.

A Tower gateguard closes the TarlomensGate.

Amilesa says 'We just passed the busiest gate of the Tower, the Tarlomens' Gate.'

Ivran says 'I am Ivran Ahnasa, Novice Amilesa. It's a pleasure to meet you.'

Ivran nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'Oh! You want my name. I am Novice Amilesa, of Emond's Field.'

Ivran smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'A pleasure to meet you.'

Amilesa looks up at the towering gate.

Ivran says 'Andoran, then. I am from Fal Moran, myself.'

Amilesa says 'I'm not sure why the gate is called that. I should look that up...'

Amilesa pulls out a notebook and adds a line to the very bottom of the long list.

Ivran looks at Amilesa.

Before the White Tower
The White Tower looms to the north, rising over a hundred spans into the
sky. Trees and bushes, both short and tall, are sprinkled around the path
and throughout the Tower grounds. The path is covered by pieces of small
white gravel and bordered by white bricks. White steps, at least a pace
deep and slightly arched in the middle, lead up to the White Tower.
[ obvious exits: N E S W ]
A Tower Guard watches for signs of trouble.
Ivran has arrived from the south.

Amilesa says 'This is the outer path of the White Tower, free for those to roam. Horses are often riden here to get from one side of the Tower to the next, and it is well-kept.'

The Great Square
A great square stretches forth between the White Tower's main building and
the Sunset Gate. Between the domed wings that contain the Accepteds'
quarters, tall steps lead up to a spacious landing on which majestically
carved doors form the entrance to the Tower. Two bronze lamps, shaped like
women holding their hands aloft, the light coming from a burst of flame
appearing in each set of palms flank the stairs.

A smug woman has arrived from the south.

Amilesa says 'This western gate leads primarily to the Stables.'

A Tower Guard leaves south.

Amilesa says 'While North of us, you will find very interesting.'

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Summary: Ivran seems interested in growing and in the Tower Guard, so I made certain to spend time by the Barracks.

Flagstone Yard Outside the Barracks
A wide, flagstoned yard lies before a gray stone building that looks like a
huge boulder which houses the Tower Guard. In the yard, rimmed holes in the
flagstones allow trees to grow, providing shade from the sun. A thick wood
of oak and evergreens encloses the yard on three sides, with twisting
graveled paths running through towards other parts of the Tower grounds.
[ obvious exits: N E S W ]
Some elaborate figurines spew fresh water into a broad basin here.
|1|.A wild stallion bucks madly.
Jimar Chubain, instructor of the Tower Guard.
Ivran has arrived from the south.

Ivran says 'Work of that kind builds character. Or so I was always told when being made to clean and mend weapons and armor, and muck out stalls.'

Ivran bows before Jimar Chubain.

Ivran looks at Jimar Chubain.

Amilesa says 'It is the same for us!'

Amilesa shows a piece of sandstone to Ivran.

Ivran smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'Jimar is a member of the illustrious Tower Guard who keep the peace of the Island and patrols its walls.'

Amilesa says 'He can also teach you a bunch about sneaking about.'

Amilesa says 'OOC: ranger prac.'

Barracks of the Tower Guard
This seems to be a fairly spartan headquarters. Near the entrance a wooden
desk, presumably for the secretary, is covered with papers of various
sorts. Further inside, a few bunks can be seen in the corners while a large
table stands at the center of the room. Cards and a few chips lie on the
table, forgotten for the moment. A large metal door stands securely against
the northern wall.
A wanted poster is here, listing the names of various outlaws.
A SIGN is tacked to the metaldoor.
[ obvious exits: N E U ] [ U: carveddoor ]

A thin leather set of leggings has been dropped here.
Some thick-soled, heavy leather boots stand stiffly together.

A thin man with a gray beard studies a ledger here.
A Tower guard is here protecting the peace.
A Tower guard is here protecting the peace.
A Tower guard is here protecting the peace.
The Captain of the Tower Guard, stands here attending his duties.
Ivran has arrived from the east.

Ivran smiles happily.

Ivran looks at the Captain of the Guards.

Amilesa says 'This is a nice safe place to be, and there seems to ALWAYS be equipment on the ground for some reason.'

Amilesa scratches her chin in thought.

Ivran chuckles politely.

Amilesa says 'Not only can others not hide here, but there are some guards here for protection.'

Amilesa says 'Just north of here is the barracks for the Tower Guard.'

Ivran nods in agreement.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Summary: The pair take in the beauty of the Ogier's craftsogiership.

Path Passing the Spring Garden
To the east of the main path between the White Tower proper and the Tower
Library lies the Spring Garden. Situated on a triangular plot of land
between two walls, it has been planted with shade loving plants. Hydrangeas
in white, pink and purple mingle with bristleboughs with thin, finger-like
leaves. Bleeding hearts, with their tiny pink blossoms drooping from
delicate three pronged compound leaves have been planted in rows.

A sign stands between the flowers in the garden.
[ obvious exits: N E S W ]
Ivran has arrived from the west.

Ivran says 'It's a beautiful place, the Tower. I've never seen anything quite like it.'

Amilesa nods and pauses to admire the view.

Amilesa says 'This is the Entrance to the Tower Library! It has Twelve Depositories open for viewing. It is also the workmanship of Ogier.'

Amilesa frowns momentarily.

Amilesa says '...worksogiership...?'

Ivran smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'It doesn't have quite the same ring to it, does it?'

Ivran says 'It doesn't, but I think it could catch on.'

Amilesa nods as Ivran, self-assured.

Lexiane lies down and falls asleep.

Amilesa says 'Not only can your enemy not hide here, Coulin is very strong. Just look at those muscles!'

Amilesa looks at Coulin.

Ivran says 'I do hope to train with them, someday, the Light willing.'

Amilesa pauses with a puzzled look on her face.

l lexiane

A young woman in a banded dress stands here. Her large, doe eyes a deep

Ivran falls down laughing.

Amilesa looks toward Ivran.

Amilesa says 'What do I do?'

Amilesa pokes her in the ribs.

Ivran says 'I'd just let her sleep, perhaps?'

Relena has arrived from the south.

Amilesa nudges the Accepted with her toe ever so gently.

Amilesa curtseys before Relena.

Relena nods respectfully to you.

Amilesa points to Lexiane's lethargic state.

Amilesa says 'I did't do it! I found her like this!'

Ivran nods at Relena.

Ivran looks at Relena.

Relena smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'I am giving this young man a tour of the Tower Grounds. It is very exciting for him.'

Amilesa nods to herself.

Relena says 'Indeed.'

Ivran says 'Peace favor your sword, Mistress.'

Amilesa says 'But then this Accepted came in and fell asleep at our feet.'

Amilesa says 'Should I wake her?'

The officedoor is opened from the other side.
Draz has arrived from the east.

Amilesa curtseys before him.

Amilesa senses Relena is channeling saidar.
Relena lightly touches the forehead of Draz.

Draz sways and collapses in a heap.
Draz stops resting, and clambers on his feet.

Ivran knuckles his forehead to Draz, honoring him.

Lexiane awakens.

Draz says 'i got zero vial'
Amilesa beckons Draz to follow her.
Draz starts following Amilesa.
Amilesa channel flows of Spirit, and refresh those around you.

Amilesa says 'And with that excitement out of the way, we go INTO the Tower.'

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Summary: Amilesa shows Ivran the inner rooms and backbone of the tower.

Intersection of Halls
Wide hallways join together under a tall, vaulted dome in the center of the
Tower. The dome has been broken up into seven sections, with each section
depicting women of a particular Ajah at work. The brightly colored floor
tiles of the hallways meet at the edge of the intersection, lining the
walls in the seven colors of the Ajahs. The center floor has been inlaid
with a white marble Flame of Tar Valon, lined with black marble.

Amilesa says 'This is the Intersection of the Tower, the heart...errr.spine of the tower.'

Amilesa says 'I'm not certain of the metaphor.'

Ivran smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'Here we are at the center of the Tower.'

In the Guest Room
This windowless room is outfitted with all amenities that would accomodate
a long stay as a guest of the White Tower. There is a bed large enough for
two, a table and two chairs, a wash basin with a mirror and a richly
decorated chamber screen, painted with birds in flight. A pile of wood lies
next to a hearth, above which hangs a painting of a sweeping landscape.
[ obvious exits: S ]
A quiet servant awaits instructions from his master.
An Illian Companion soldier keeps a vigilant watch here.

This gentleman radiates a refinement cultivated over years of service as a
mediary between men and women in power. His velvet coat is spotless, and
his arms hang comfortably at his sides suggesting a quiet confidence.

A Wide Hallway
This wide corridor has smooth white walls of a color like bleached bone,
while the floor is covered with colorful floortiles in the colors of the
seven Ajahs: blue, brown, gray, green, red, white and yellow. A large mural
consisting of different panels shows the declaration of the False Dragon
Raolin Darksbane, his capture by Aes Sedai, and his Gentling in the
Traitor's Court, which lies behind a thick door to the north.

Summary: Amilesa shows Ivran the Kitchens and the glories it possesses.

Lower Corridor
This plain corridor lies on the ground floor of the Tower, near the
Kitchens. Although there is another kitchen and accompanying dining halls
on the second floor, they have not been in use in centuries. This kitchen is
conveniently placed on the ground floor, so supplies to feed the many
mouths in the Tower can easily be brought in.
[ obvious exits: E U ]
Ivran has arrived from above.

Amilesa says 'And now we are in the Tower Basement! I hope you are not afraid of closed in spaces.'

The Kitchens
The smells of food fills this large, high ceilinged room, the scent of
meats mingling with those of fruits and vegetables. A long stone fireplace
with spits lies in the center of the eastern wall, the roasting spits being
turned by spit dogs running in their wicker baskets. Iron stoves and ovens
have been placed along other walls. Three large pairs of doors flank the
kitchen and a glimpse reveals they are large dining halls. Gray tiles cover
the floor and a large sink occupies a corner of the room.
[ obvious exits: E W ]
A hunk of beef has been left here. [2]
A giant sink sits here, filled with many dirty dishes.
A quiet servant awaits instructions from his master.
An Accepted stands here, ready to fulfill any Aes Sedai request.
Laras the Mistress of the Kitchens is here directing the kitchen workers.
Ivran has arrived from the west.

Ivran says 'Kendall Gaidin took a few of us to his personal quarters earlier, after we hunted some darkspawn. It has a lovely view of the city.'

Ivran says 'And no, I am not.'

Ivran smiles at Amilesa.

Amilesa says 'This is the Kitchen, where Mistress Laras oversees our meals. And where I spend much of my time washing dishes.'

Ivran nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'She often sets out spare cuts of beef for us to pick up, in case our duties keep us from the scheduled meal times.'

The Pantry
The room has somehow been made to be as cool as a springhouse in order to
keep the food fresh. Sacks of different varieties of flour and seasonings
are stacked against one of the walls. A shelf placed against a second wall
holds jars of preserved fruits and cartons of eggs, and barrels of wines
from different countries fill the rest of the room. A thick wooden door
with a small barred window lies on the east wall, overlooking a graveled
stretch of the garden, allowing supplies to be brought in with ease.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Summary: Amilesa show Ivran the sights of the city proper, including the Tavern, the coachman, the sempstress, and Merchant Square.

The Tremalking Splice
The room is dim and filled with pungent tabac smoke. Off in the dark
corners, a group of people can be seen squatting down on the ground.
Only muttering and repeated clattering of dice emanate out from the
corner, otherwise everyone in here seems to keep to themselves. Those
sitting at tables in the center and others at the bar seem intent on
drinking as much as possible.

The coach departs Tar Valon daily at 5:00 pm.

Ivran nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'The sign says it departs at 5pm though. I think it goes to Caemlyn.'

Shining Walls Linens
Although the name infers that this small shop might sparkle and shine, it
still reflects what it used to be, a bar off of Tavern Alley in the city.
Floors have been swept and polished and the walls have been stripped and
repaneled, but the smell of drunkenness still wafts in from the other bars
in the area.

There is a small sign on the wall above the counter.

The River Lady has arrived at the docks.

Amilesa says 'This a sempstress, who is often employed to help those of us in the Tower retool our gear to something that looks more femenine.'

Amilesa says 'The characteristics and stats will be the same, but it will look different.'

Amilesa stops using an emerald ring.

Amilesa gives an emerald ring to a sempstress.

Ivran says 'That makes sense. Though I am curious... does the wearing of armor interfere with your ability to channel?'

A sempstress stores the ring in a drawer.
A sempstress gives you a garnet adorned ring.

Amilesa slides a garnet adorned ring on to her right ring finger.

Amilesa says 'There are whole classes and books on that in the library!'

Ivran smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'Let us get safetly to the Square and I'll answer that.'

Merchant Square
Perhaps the most crowded place in all of Tar Valon, the square is packed with
people shopping along Merchant Square. In the square is a fountain, which
some people lean against to rest or merely watch all that is surrounding
them. The White Tower lies a bit to the north, but people take no more notice
of it than the other buildings along the road.

An Illuminator's assistant stands here carrying some colored tubes.
A wild stallion has arrived from the south.
Ivran has arrived from the south.

Amilesa says 'This is the Merchant Square which is as safe as the Tower Square from stabbers, but is much quiter.'

Amilesa glances northward with a look.

Ivran smiles happily.

Ivran looks at a man.

Amilesa says 'To answer your question, our weaving is interrupted when a channeler takes damage. So wearing heavy equipment that you can't dodge in will inhibit our ability to weave.'

Ivran nods in agreement.

Ivran says 'That makes sense.'

Summary: Amilesa explains the uses of the blacksmith to Ivran, and learns that maybe other phrases will cause the mobs to drop what they are carrying other than SAY DROP that we are instructed. Ot they are very slow.

The Anvil of the Shining Walls
This smithy is a very simple arrangement with only a forge, anvil and a
work bench, somewhat cluttered with various pieces of iron and steel strewn
over it, all ready to be reshaped into the finest weapons. The various
precious metals in wooden crates round the walls indicate this smithy is a
place for quality weapons only. The blackened forge in the centre of the
smithy has a fire in a hearth fuelled by scorching charcoal, which is
raised off the ground in a shallow clay bowl at waist height.

A master blacksmith chuckles politely.
A retired guardsman tells Amilesa 'LOOK at the SIGN to see what is available.'

A master blacksmith says 'I'll retrain those level 20 or under for 25 crowns, those above level 20 for 150 crowns, and those level 40 or above for 200 crowns.'

A master blacksmith says 'I will drop what I have if you say drop.'

For LAN users, you have the following options:

Every 4 months, come in on the LAN owner character and SAY VERIFY LAN, to ensure your LAN registration is not deleted.

Ivran says 'Drop'

Amilesa says 'He'll also return you to your rank should you ever go long periods of innactivity in your clan.'

Ivran smiles happily.

Ivran says 'Good to know.'

Amilesa says 'The retired guardsman will also give you a basic weapon for a weapons chit that the Guardian might give you.'

Ivran nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'He used to give feathered bladed staffs...it was glorious.'

A retired guardsman says 'Sure I have some for those in need. Just prove it with a weapon chit'
A retired guardsman drops fifteen copper pennys.
A retired guardsman drops a lantern.

Amilesa blinks her eyes innocently.

Amilesa says 'Drop didn't work, but that did.'

Ivran chuckles politely.

Amilesa narrows her eyes trying to figure the scenario out.

Amilesa in a stage-loud voice repeats what she did before.

Amilesa says 'He used to give feathered bladed staffs...it was glorious.'

Amilesa snaps her fingers.

Amilesa points to the coins on the ground.

Amilesa says 'Help yourself, I get an allowance.'

Amilesa 's gaze lingers to the coins

Amilesa gets fifteen copper pennys.

Summary: Amilesa and Ivran visit the herb shop, and now Amilesa reallllly wants to give Gudha a silver mark. Where is that Tar Valon thief and his coins...

Gudha's Herbs
The store is very clean neat. Shelves line the walls filled with jars
of various herbs and roots. A table along the western wall, next to a

Gudha says 'Will pay for black spheres.'

Gudha says 'I wonder what they do?'

Gudha smiles at Amilesa.

Amilesa says 'Oh...'

Amilesa says 'Now I am curious.'

Amilesa shakes her head to refocus.

Amilesa says 'She'll often have some good herbs like flatwork, but at very expensive prices compared to other places.'

Amilesa says 'There is a Thief that runs around here that is a criminal. If you put him down he'll have some basic dodge gear and about twently silver tar valon marks.'

Amilesa says 'A tar valon mark is 25 copper, where a crown is 20 copper.'

Ivran says 'Ah, yes, I found him in the Square one day, and we had words. It did not end in his favor.'

Amilesa says 'Are you prepared to wrangle with some spiders?'

Amilesa says 'I'll ride the horse and refresh you as needed. It is efficient that way'

Ivran smiles happily.

Ivran says 'I am happy to go with you. And my sword is at your disposal, should we find trouble.'

Ivran nods in agreement.

Among Thick Trunks
In the heart of the old trees, trunks as wide as five men are common. The
behemoth trees support a massive canopy and they make a hall to rival any
palace. Silence reigns over this area in the forest, any noises getting
lost high above in the arching boughs. Many animal tracks lead to a hollow
at the base of one of the massive trees.

A Low Chamber
The ground beneath the tree stump has been carved out into a low chamber
that anyone taller than a child would have to crouch to enter. Roots of
plants from the surface hang down from the cavern roof. Two painted

Amilesa says 'This is where a Novice like myself can come for a replacement Novice Dress.'

Ivran smiles happily.

Amilesa points to the dress of the ground.

Amilesa says 'We have to launder it first, of course, since it is so dirty.'

Amilesa says 'There are also four chests in these caves left by Novices at the time.'

Amilesa says 'There's a puzzle to opening them. A riddle you can read east of here.'

Amilesa says 'But the solution to this one is LION.'

Amilesa says 'Be a dear and TURN DIAL LION.'

The lock opens with a click.

Ivran opens a chest.

Ivran says 'Ah, a nice staff'

Ivran gets a carved sourgum staff from a chest.

Ivran tests the balance of the staff. "Hm. It's not bad."

Ivran gives you a carved sourgum staff.

Amilesa says 'This chest seems to randomly give out simple weapons. I like the bone-handed blade, since it sells for 40 crowns in the city.'

An Overgrown Compartment
Covered in moss from ceiling to floor the small cave nearly glows green. A
large rock, covered in lichen, stands in the center of the room. Various
subterranean growths poke up from the mud below. The flora is relatively
light on the north side of the room and extremely dense on the southern. A
large dial is embedded into the lid of the chest.

The opening in the north gives way to a small, dusty hollow. The space has
been crudely carved from the light brown earth. Not a single plant can be
seen growing through the dry ground. Old books, ripped from their bindings
and shredded, are strewn about the floor of the cave. A large dial is
embedded into the lid of the chest.

Ivran nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'The dark gloves are useful in re-equiping sometimes if you prefer to dodge your opoinents.'

Ivran says 'And you can turn those in to the seamstress?'

Amilesa shakes her head.

Amilesa says 'The leggings are maybe light combo, I think. Not very useful to a dodger.'

Ivran nods in agreement.

Amilesa gets an emerald ring from a chest.

Amilesa gets an excited look and puts the ring in her pocket.

Amilesa says 'This one gives an emerald ring, a brass ring, or a belt. The emerald ring is the best of lot.'

Summary: Amilesa shows Ivran the Barracks in the northeast, where she explains Liaison quests.

Serpent Street
Along this portion of the street, snake figures are etched to almost every
building and door. Scenes depicting snakes wiggling, coiling, and striking
are carved onto walls of buildings. The street is even paved with many flat
stones, reminding one of the scaly backside of a great serpent. The street
continues west while on the south, Earth Avenue can be seen passing through.

Despite this woman's plump appearance, she has a regal bearing. Her blue
eyes are set in an ageless face, which sharply contrasts with the gray
streaks in her dark hair. She wears a golden great serpent ring on her hand
and a gray fringed shawl over her shoulders.

A Gray Sister is in excellent condition. (Healthy)

Amilesa curtseys before A Gray Sister.

Ivran smiles happily.

Ivran bows before a Gray Sister.

Amilesa says 'Of course, Aes Sedai.'

Earth Avenue
One of the fabled lanes of Tar Valon, this avenue makes its way from Tower
Square to the northeast section of the city. Skillfully constructed long
ago by Ogier stonemasons, this part of the avenue has been built to the
theme of a forested valley. Tall pillars akin to great wooded tree trunks
support overhanging roofs while flowing fountains adorn them. Numerous
statues and carvings of bears, deer, and squirrels abound throughout the
area. To the south Earth Avenue ends in Tower Square but to the east,
the avenue continues. A magnificent lodge branches up and out to the north.

Summary: Ivran is shown the docks and introduced to toher mods of travel he may want to look into.

A large wharf surrounds the harbor, which leads into the River Erinin to
the south. Two large gatehouses at the end of the Shining Walls guard the

Ivran nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'then EMBARK whatevertheboatnameis, and it will put you on the boat. Then you sail.'

Ivran says 'I will look further into it. I've mostly been moving around by horse or on foot.'

Amilesa says 'You should never discount the tried and true equistrian method, sure.'

Ivran smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'But lets see, the modes of transportation are...Ways, Portal Stones, river boats, ocean boats, coaches, boats that act like caoches...and the One Power!'

Ivran says 'If it is not considered rude to ask, may I inquire as to which Ajah you wish to join?'

Amilesa puffs out her lips in a frown.

Amilesa says 'I've been too busy trying to acclimate to my new life here, I haven't figured that out.'

Ivran nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'I figure that is what being Accepted is for.'

Ivran smiles happily.

Summary: After concluding the Tour, they discuss a little of Ivran's aspirations and his prospects with the Tower Guard. Amilesa then wrangles Ivran to hunt a giant horned lizard with her.

Ivran has arrived from the south.

Amilesa stops riding him.

Amilesa says 'And that concludes my tour! I bet you weren't expecting it to take quite that long, but we covered all but a couple spots.'

Ivran says 'I am, similarly, trying to figure out where I'd like to serve. I would love, someday, to become a Warder, but in the meantime... I looked into the Tower Guard, but the only active Guardsman I met said that there is no council right now, and that no one is active, so I should look elsewhere.'

Amilesa says 'There's an island in the water where you need rafts or canoes to get to that keeps two horned lizards from rampaging around. THey are tough to beat, but great experience.'

Ivran says 'Thank you for the tour, I greatly appreciate it.'

Amilesa gets a concerned look on her face.

Amilesa says 'That...doesn't sound nice. I figured they'd want new, motivated blood.'

Amilesa says 'I wish there were something we could do to keep you around. We need Guardsmen like you.'

Ivran says 'I'd hoped so. And some have told me I could appeal to the higher powers and ask them to appoint me, and restore the guard myself. But I am not sure if that's a good idea for someone new.'

Amilesa nods her head emphatically in encouragement.

Amilesa says 'I actually think that is a lovely idea.'

Amilesa says 'Write a letter explaining your passion for protecting the Island and those within it, detailing what the guardsman told you, and ask if the Captain would recruit you instead.'

Ivran nods in agreement.

Ivran says 'Perhaps I will, at that.'

Amilesa says 'Seems like the right course when those in the clan say they can't (won't?) induct new members.'

Ivran says 'I am not sure that the fellow I met even can. His rank was Guardsman, not an officer's rank or the like.'

Amilesa leans closer towards Ivran.

Amilesa says 'Want to try to take out one of those horned lizards?'

Ivran says 'Certainly.'

Ivran smiles at Amilesa.

Amilesa smiles brightly.

Amilesa says 'It is really nice having someone to do something with. Everyone is very busy here.'

Ivran says 'I am also often looking for people to spend time with.'

Amilesa says 'Mind you, I can't go far and am thus more boring of a companion. But one day...'

Ivran smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'Please ride the palfrey. It will be few rooms.'

Ivran says 'Who knows? Perhaps by the time you earn your shawl, I might be a Gaidin?'

Amilesa says 'Ah, to have someone carry my books.'

Ivran grins evilly.

Amilesa rubs her shoulder with her hand.

Amilesa jumps in with some well-aimed ice spikes and the beast is slain! The other nearby lizard was too much for them to handle before resting, and Chloro Sedai wanted to see the both of them.

Edge of the Coppice
Slender trunks of leatherleaf and paperbark stretch their branches towards
the sky, sturdy boughs tipped with leafy fingers spread to catch the rain.
Searching roots sink deep into the sandy earth, keeping the land from
washing into the river. To the north, the trees thicken, the island covered
in dense foliage. The rustling of animals whispers from the dark treeline.

The Stony Shore
The foliage is dank and dense, heavy boughs laden with thick, leathery
leaves trapping the moisture that rolls off the river. To the north, the
fast-moving water caresses jagged rocks. The air is thick with the scent of
musty bark, the ground soft but held firmly by the roots of the paperbark
trees that stud the island amidst swathes of verdant green leatherleaf.

The Forest Thickens
The verdant forest spreads out in all directions, a green blanket stretched
across the Pattern. Looming trunks of paperbark and leatherleaf stretch
their branches upwards as if trying to catch clouds. The ground is dark and
fertile, the loamy scent of the rich soil hanging in the air. The muffled
roar of churning water drifts through the tangled briars to the east.

In the Hallway
This gray stone hallway is plain looking, although its floor tiles of red
and green liven up the area. Two tapestries of flowered trees and
stout-beaked birds hang on the wall, so colorful they seem unlikely to be
real. An unmarked wooden door lies between the tapestries.

The Mistress of Novices' Study
This is a compact, dark-paneled room full of plain sturdy furnishings that
have been used by generations of women who have held this office. The desk
near the center of the room is plainly made and heavily worn through years
of use. A large mirror with flaking gilt hangs from one of the walls. Used
for switching disobedient initiates, as well as Aes Sedai who do penance, a
bench-like contraption that has a padded leather cushion to kneel on, as
well as a padded leather area to lean on. A selection of switches, ranging
from a slender willow switch to a slipper lie on a table nearby.

Ivran says 'An audience?'

Continuing Down the Hallway
Floor tiles in a multitude of gray hues cover the floor of this hallway,
alternating with white tiles marked with the Flame of Tar Valon. Each door
in the hallway has been marked with scales in gold for Sitters and silver
for other Aes Sedai. A large tapestry of a map during the time of the
Compact of the Ten Nations decorates the wall.

Meeting Room of the Gray Ajah
Large, leaded glass windows surround the room on all sides, save the
southern where a large doorway leads out into a antechamber. The room
itself is dominated by a large wooden table around which sits at least
fifty matching chairs, something close to a record for the White Tower. In
the middle of the table are an assortment of unused parchments, quill pens
and stoppered ink jars. A small stand off to one side of the room holds a
large number of glass cups and a large pitcher of chilled water. An
inscription in fine lettering is etched upon the windows.
