..........................
This log is a meeting between Callesa Sedai and Wisdom Emily. Callesa needs to solve a sleeping problem that might put her prepared undercover mission in danger.

POV:Callesa
Main participants: Emily and Callesa
.............................

Emily looks up from what she was doing, both hands opening a large herb bag.

Emily knocks on the Woodendoor.

A Wisdom inspects a jar of herbs.
Shuffling can be heard from inside.

The door swings open.

Emily leaves north.
You follow Emily.

In the Private Quarters
This is a very tidy room, lined with neatly made bunks and sparkling clean.
Jurien the Innkeeper must clean this area constantly. The floor is scrubbed
clean and the wood shines with a glowing patina from years of travel and
care. A few pieces of furniture stand in the center of the room to be used
by Wisdoms and students alike.

A crumpled note lies on the floor.
[ obvious exits: N E S ]
A brittle chunk of yellow crystal has formed here.
A soft leather pouch has been discarded here.
A small, somewhat rickety table wobbles on unsteady legs.
A chair made of red oak rests next to the table. [2]
Emily the Senior Wisdom is standing here.
Jurien the Innkeeper stands here inspecting the quarters.

The Woodendoor closes quietly.

Emily says 'This should give you some peace of quiet.'

Callesa politely greets the innkeeper

You nod in agreement.

Emily says 'Don't mind the clutter'

You say 'Oh I don't, you haven't seen my study.'

Emily puts a piece of paper over the smelly chunk of sulphur on the floor.

You say 'I have come to consult you in a bit embarassing matter, truth be told.'

Emily says 'No, Wisdoms aren't invited into the depths of the Tower very much.'

Emily tilts her head, looking for the reinforcements.
You say 'I struggle with sleep lately.'

You say 'I have nightmares, reflecting a lot of my experience gathered over the years.'

Emily furrows her brows at the ailments listed.

You say 'But that isn't the worst part. I... I speak in my sleep, or even scream at times.'

You say 'I cannot afford to do that.'

You say 'It is just annoying in the relative safety in the Tower. But when travelling, it could even
put me in danger.'

You say 'And my mission too.'

You say 'Can you help, please?'

Emily says 'And I take it, too much of a sleep aid that would put you in a restful slumber would be
just as risky.'

You nod at her.

Emily says 'If you are looking for herbal remedies, I suggest starting with a tea made with an herb
known for reducing anxiety and bringing calm.'

You say 'That sounds like a very good start, Wisdom. Which one is it?'

Emily says 'I don't keep any on hand since they aren't used for any of the common potions. But you
should be able to pick up a blue rose from Caemlyn and steep yourself a tea from it.'

You nod in agreement.

Emily holds her hands up in the air.

Emily says 'Sometimes the most potent remedies are the simplist.'

You say 'A blue rose. For how long should I keep it in the water, to get the best quality from it?'

Emily says 'You might want to add some Foxglove as well, as a sleep aid that isn't too strong.'

You nod in agreement.

You say 'Will a bit of honey diminish the effect?'

Emily says 'A five minute steep in hot water, like any good cup of tea should do the trick.'

Emily says 'Honey will be fine, though thankfully roses aren't very bitter.'

You nod in agreement.

Emily says 'You may want to get a pestle and muddle the rose petals, just to be on the safe side.'

Emily gets a few pink foxgloves from a small purse.

You nod at her.

You say 'I will do so.'

You say 'Any other recommendation? I wish I could just tie a Silencing weave on myself for sleep,
but that won't be possible for many reasons.'

Emily walks over to her bookshelf and pulls her personal notebook from a rickety shelf.

You emote: Callesa glances at the bookshelf but cares not to stare too much.

Emily says 'I have had some experience with some less common herbs, let me look at my notes real
quick.'

Callesa looks around, while waiting for the result of Emily's search.

Emily says 'Similar to the foxgloves, Foxtail can be used as a more potent sleepaid, and does not
leave groggieness.'

You say 'Where does one find foxtail? I know a few places with foxgloves, but foxtail is new to me.'

Emily says 'From my notes, Foxtail can be found North of Mayene City at the Edge of the Forest'

You nod in agreement.

You say 'I think I can spare a few days for the journey, or have it delivered.'

Emily says 'Be sure to also apply some Catfern to the remedy. It might taste bad, but it is needed
in this case.'

You ponder life, the universe, and everything.

Emily says 'If you find yourself up north of Fal Dara it was last seen in Tarwin's Gap at An Oasis'

You say 'I will. It should work well. Sister Danelle uses wine to help with her sleep, but I don't
want the side effects.'

Emily closes her notebook with a loud thunk, a cloud of dust billows forth.

Emily says 'There are two other herbs used to help induce sleep. One used often by Two Rivers
Wisdoms, and the other of more general usage.'

You say 'Catfern with Foxtail, and Blue rose with Foxgloves. Got it. Five minutes in hot water.'

You arch an eyebrow.

Callesa says: Back in my youth, I clearly failed to ask our wisdom in Watch Hill. Which ones are they?

Emily says 'But I would say the roses will help with the underlying issue, and the rest...to get you
to sleep.'

You nod in agreement.

Emily says 'Goatstongue is the one used often in the Two Rivers. To induce sleep and to remedy
stomach aches.'

Emily says 'You can find a bundle of it not far from here in Caralain Grass at A hill of Flowers'

You nod in agreement.

You say 'Ah, my mother used to give it to me for stomach aches, when I was a kid. It tasted horrible
, but it worked.'

Emily says 'The other herb being Greenwort. It does the thing as Goatstongue. Pretty comparable,
really.'

You nod in agreement.

You say 'Those are several options. Thank you for your help, Wisdom.'

Emily says 'If you are travelling between Tear and Illian, such as getting to Mayene, you'll be able
to find some in the Path Through the Garden'

Emily says 'That is why we train so extensively with herbs. So versatile. And so available.'

You nod at her.

You say 'I agree. Our weaves may be stronger in some ways, but in some areas prove a bit lacking.'

Emily says 'Is there anything else I can help you with?'

You say 'No, thank you. You've helped me immensely.'

Emily glances at Callesa's bag.

You say 'What payment do you ask for your services? '

Emily says 'You got the two faltwort I gave you, yes?'
You nod in agreement.

Emily says 'If you give them to me, I'll mix you up a vial.'
Callesa gives the herbs to the Wisdom.
Emily says 'Give me one moment'

Emily puts a sack of green ivy in a mixing flask.
Emily puts some brown kaf beans in a mixing flask.

Emily puts a blue pouch of flatwort tea in a mixing flask.

Emily sets to mixing the contents of a mixing flask.

Emily mixes the contents of a mixing flask.

Emily gets a thin vial of yellow fluid from a mixing flask.

Emily gives you a thin vial of yellow fluid.

You thank Emily heartily.

Emily says 'There you are!'

Emily says 'exit'

Jurien the Innkeeper produces a set of keys from somewhere beneath her apron.

Jurien the Innkeeper unlocks the woodendoor.
Jurien the Innkeeper opens the Woodendoor.

Emily leaves south.
You follow Emily.

A Quiet House
This is a neat and well arranged house set in the middle of the city. The
house is well furnished, and the room is centered on a large table. A
couch and several chairs surround the table. Bookshelves are stuffed
full with various tomes. The door lies to the south.
[ obvious exits: N S W ]
Door north: Woodendoor
A one person canoe rests on the ground.
Emily the Senior Wisdom is standing here.
A mangy cat scurries around trying not to get stepped on.
Beathas Navinen, the Wisdom of Whitebridge stands at the ready.

The Woodendoor closes quietly.

A Wisdom carries some towels in her arms.
You get a wealth of gold crowns from a backpack.

You give her twenty crowns.

You say 'Thank you, Wisdom.'

Emily says 'Let me know if that works, Aes Sedai. I hope you feel better.'

Emily knocks on the Woodendoor.

Shuffling can be heard from inside.

You say 'I will. May the Light protect you on your travels'

The door swings open.

Emily leaves north.
