Tower Square
This side of the square is the southern section of the Tower Square.
In the center is the walled off White Tower. To the south a large
boulevard opens up leading to the Southharbor. To the north you see
the southern gate of the Tower grounds. The square continues east
and west.
A large banner rests here, depicting a map of Tar Valon.
[ obvious exits: N E S W ]
A lantern has been left here.
A leather helmet has been dropped here.
A marble bench, flecked with gold and bronze, adorns the floor.
An oil lamp, set in a steel cage, hangs from a high wooden pole.
An elaborately sculpted marble fountain splashes merrily.
A stout wooden barrel stands nearby.
A black cat meanders to an unknown destination.
Ruby of Altara is standing here, riding a draft horse.

Aloisa has arrived from the west.

You gasp in astonishment.

Aloisa moves quickly into the square, eyes scanning the crowd.

Ruby curtseys before Aloisa.

Aloisa notices Lynera.

Aloisa says 'Close your mouth, girl, you'll catch flies.'

Aloisa nods at Ruby.

Aloisa'tsks' loudly.

Lynera shifts back and forth nervously.

Aloisa says 'Do young women have so little to do now that they dawdle in squares?'

Aloisa says 'I know there are many farms who require strong hands!'

You say 'I have been waiting for months for an Aes Sedai and now that you are here I am not sure what to say'

Aloisa looks between Ruby and Lynera, blue eyes cold.

Your cheeks are burning.

Aloisa says 'If you are with child, girl, I cannot help.'

You say 'I WANT TO BE AES SEDAI!'

Her nerves had gotten the better of her, she was finally face to face with an Aes Sedai and all she could manage was to blurt out her intent. She hoped this would not leave a bad impression or result in being turned away from the tower.

Ruby says 'I just arrived in the city, hopeful to find an Aes Sedai. I'm just catching my breath here.'

Lynera smiles at Aloisa.

Aloisa arches an eyebrow, blue eyes twinkling.

Aloisa says 'Ahh, well, two fish with one net.'

You say 'I am not with child'

Lynera points at Ruby.

You say 'I do not know that one'

Aloisa says 'I see you both wish to sign your names.'

Ruby says 'Oh no, I am not either.'

Aloisa says 'You have the spark?'

Aloisa eyes the two of you closely.

You say 'Yes, I can touch the source'

Aloisa says 'And you, child?'

Aloisa looks at Ruby.

Ruby says 'I do, Aloisa Sedai.'

Aloisa nods, curls bobbing.

Aloisa says 'Follow me, girls.'

Aloisa says 'And leave the horses.'

You now follow Aloisa.

Ruby now follows Aloisa.

Ruby stops riding a draft horse.

Ruby pats a draft horse on his head.

Aloisa nods in agreement.

Aloisa says 'Have either of you been to Tar Valon before?'

The Aes Sedai took off briskly moving through the square into the tower. Lynera struggled to keep pace as they raced through the hallways. The Aes Sedai navigated the twisting corridors with ease and lead them to a thick woodendoor.

Aloisa opens the woodendoor.

Ruby says 'I have not.'

The Mistress of Novices' Study
This is a compact, dark-paneled room full of plain sturdy furnishings that
have been used by generations of women who have held this office. The desk
near the center of the room is plainly made and heavily worn through years
of use. A large mirror with flaking gilt hangs from one of the walls. Used
for switching disobedient initiates, as well as Aes Sedai who do penance, a
bench-like contraption that has a padded leather cushion to kneel on, as
well as a padded leather area to lean on. A selection of switches, ranging
from a slender willow switch to a slipper lie on a table nearby.
[ obvious exits: E ]
A large desk made of fine, thick wood stands across the room from here.
Ruby of Altara is standing here.
Aloisa do Feia a'Oghri is standing here.
Sheriam the Mistress of Novices studies you with a stern expression.

Aloisa closes the woodendoor.

Aloisa nods in agreement.

Aloisa says 'It can be quite a lot to take in.'

You say 'I know the square and the inn but not beyond'

Aloisa says 'Well, you will become very familiar if you sign your names into the novice book.'

You nod at her.

Aloisa says 'Do you understand what it is to join the Tower?'

Aloisa says 'To sign your name into this book?'

Ruby says 'I only have a vague idea'

Aloisa nods in agreement.

Aloisa looks to Lynera.

Aloisa says 'And you, child?'

You say 'I know that you can teach me how to better use my abilities and I want to learn.'

Aloisa says 'Yes, we will teach you, that is true.'

Aloisa says 'And it is important women who can touch the Source come here to learn.'

Aloisa says 'But you will be bound to us.'

Aloisa says 'You will stay with the Tower until we have deemed you safe to go out into the world, at the very least.'

Ruby nods in agreement.

Aloisa says 'And the path to being Aes Sedai is not easy.'

Aloisa speaks slowly, adding weight to her words.

Aloisa says 'It can take decades to achieve the shawl. Most women do not ever reach it.'

You say 'I have fought trollocs and Myrddraal what could be more difficult than that?'

Aloisa snorts derisively.

Aloisa says 'Humility.'

Aloisa says 'And you have not met the Tower's kitchens yet.'

Aloisa says 'As novices you will not be allowed to leave the island of Tar Valon.'

You say 'So I will not be able to return to Fal Dara?'

Aloisa says 'No.'

Aloisa says 'Not until you have become an Accepted.'

You say 'How long must I stay in the city?'

Ruby says 'Oh my.'

Aloisa says 'You must stay until you are ready.'

Aloisa shrugs helplessly.

Aloisa says 'It takes girls different lengths of time.'

Ruby nods in agreement.

You say 'Who decides when I am ready? I feel I am ready now'

Aloisa says 'We do, child.'

You say 'As long as I dont try to manipulate any type of fire'

Your cheeks are burning.

Aloisa says 'You feeling as though you are ready is proof enough that you are not.'

Aloisa says 'Now, I must ask, knowing all this, do you both wish to sign your name into the Novice book?'

Aloisa looks between Ruby and Lynera.

You say 'How soon will my training begin? The sooner it starts the sooner I can return home.'

Ruby says 'I do not mind staying on the island. I wish to receive all the training possible in my stay.'

Aloisa beams a smile at Ruby.

Aloisa says 'Your training begins once you sign, but the process is not quick.'

Aloisa says 'You must learn patience, child.'

Aloisa says 'Sheriam Sedai, please add Ruby to the Book of Novices.'

She stood there watching as Ruby’s name was entered into the Book of Novices. She thought this process seemed pomp and silly but understood it was meant to protect girls like Ruby. Ruby was far younger than her and had not faced Shadowspawn. How scary could the kitchens possibly be she thought to herself. She felt ready and did not see the need for such restrictions. These conditions meant she would be away from Fal Dara for longer than she had anticipated but she had no doubt she could quickly prove her worth to the Aes Sedai.

You say 'I have spent months waiting in the square for an Aes Sedai, I will not walk away now'

You say 'I will sign my name and begin my training.'

Aloisa nods in agreement.

Aloisa says 'I will give you a tour in a moment'

Aloisa says 'Lynera, are you prepared?'

You say 'Yes'

You nod in agreement.

Aloisa says 'Sheriam Sedai, please add Lynera to the Book of Novices.'

It was all over in a blink, she was standing there wearing a white dress. She did not feel any different and the moment felt smaller than she expected. She quickly collected herself and raced off after the Aes Sedai as she began the tour. She knew she needed to impress the other Aes Sedai, the faster she did the faster she could return to Fal Dara. The tour ended quickly and the Aes Sedai disappeared down another hallyway shouting at them to start their chores.

She had finished the initial tasks assigned to her, collecting brooms, laundry, and taking care of the kitchens rat problem. She spent time in the library and took care of all the returned books and circled back to the kitchen to clean the afternoons lunch dishes. While the activity kept her busy, it did little in the way of teaching her how to better control her abilities.

Prya has arrived from the east.

Prya says 'Hello!'

Prya chuckles politely.

You smile at her.

You say 'Hello!'

Prya says 'I wasn't trying to shelve books in case that's why you left the library.'

Prya says 'I just wanted to meet you!'

Prya says 'Welcome to the Tower!'

Prya says 'How long have you been a novice?'

You say 'There were no move books to shelve so I am back to dishes'

You say 'Too long'

You smile happily.

Prya nods in agreement.

Prya says 'Ooh I remember that feeling. It becomes stifling to be stuck here on the island!'

You say 'I am ready to return back to Fal Dara'

You smile happily.

Prya smiles at you.

Prya says 'The Aes Sedai seem so.... busy these days. I don't see them as often as I'd like! I can imagine you feel the same.'

Prya says 'Have you had the chance to attend any classes?'

Prya says 'I was speaking to Ruby and she has not.'

You say 'There hasnt been any classes yet'

Prya says 'The classes were my favorite part of being a novice!'

Prya says 'Perhaps I could teach an informal class! How familiar are you with the Travel weave?'

Prya says 'I have been doing a lot of research accidentally on what NOT to do when it comes to Travel.'

Prya snickers softly.

You say 'I have never used it or thought to use it'

Prya nods in agreement.

Prya says 'This would be a perfect introductory class then!'

Prya says 'Do you have enough practice to learn the weave from Sheriam?'

Prya says 'And have you practiced locate object and locate life?'

You say 'I am not interested in learning to travel'

You smile happily.

Prya says 'Oh!'

You say 'Only how to better use fire weaves'

You nod in agreement.

Prya says 'Well then you don't need that class'

Prya smiles happily.

Prya says 'Sarinda would be able to teach a great class on fire weaves! Or maybe Kavia'

You say 'I will try to speak with them if I see them'

You smile happily.

You scrub the dishes.

Prya nods in agreement.

Prya says 'What about potions and vials? Or... hmmm...'

Prya says 'Perhaps you are a wise soul and are not in need of classes.'

Prya shrugs helplessly.

Prya says 'I am quite young and needed all the classes I could take!'

You say 'I have spent time in Fal Dara fighting shadowspawn, I am familiar with potions and vials.'

You smile happily.

Prya nods in agreement.

She was keen on the idea of classes but found none of the topics interesting. She had observed several accepted use the travel weave and had secretly been practicing herself. She did not want to give away that she had already made certain discoveries on her own. She made a quick mental note, Kavia and Sarinda were the ones she needed to speak with. Where they Aes Sedai or also Accepted?, she thought to herself.

Prya says 'You have come to the Tower with far more knowledge of the world than I did.'

You scrub the dishes.

Prya says 'The Tower is lucky to gain your strength.'

You ponder life, the universe, and everything.

You say 'I wish it felt that way, they do not seem to have much time for me'

Prya frowns.

Prya says 'I feel the same.'

You say 'I spent months waiting in the square for an Aes Sedai to enter my name in the book.'

You sigh.

Prya says 'I wish to join the Blue and I haven't seen a Blue sister around in what feels like ages.'

You say 'and here I stand washing dishes when I should be making better use of my time'

Prya nods in agreement.

Prya says 'Indeed!'

Prya says 'Have you spoken to Etain Sedai?'

You say 'No, I have only met Aloisa Sedai'

Prya says 'She is often very willing to help promote sisters. You might consider sending her a missive.'

You nod in agreement.

You scrub the dishes.

Prya says 'I can imagine it's a very different experience for you joining the Tower when you know so much about the world as opposed to someone
like me. I was frustrated enough when I didn't really know what I would do once I was able to leave!'

You say 'It can be challenging when you have a goal in mind and are limitted by the people around you.'

Prya nods in agreement.

Prya says 'Indeed!'

You say 'If the Aes Sedai had only spent more time with me they would see I was ready to return to Fal Dara and could continue my learning there.'

You scrub the dishes.

You scrub the dishes.

You scrub the dishes.

Prya says 'I may send a note to an Aes Sedai or two on your behalf. Would that be alright with you?'

You nod at her.

You say 'Yes, that would be helpful'

You scrub the dishes.

You scrub the dishes.

You scrub the dishes.

You scrub the dishes.

You scrub the dishes.

You smile happily.

Prya says 'I have sent correspondence to both Tolza Sedai and Etain Sedai. I will let you know if I hear back! '

You smile happily.

You say 'Thank you!'

Prya says 'I was the same as you. I did not want to send messages to ask for meetings. I wanted to run into them in the Tower, but the timing
doesn't always work out, unfortunately!'

Prya says 'Tolza and I were Accepted together, and she was recently raised to the Shawl so I don't know if she can yet interview novices for
promotion.'

Prya says 'You are ready for your interview if someone is available?'

Prya says 'I could let you know what I was asked if you are unsure'

Prya smiles happily.

You say 'I feel as though I am prepared'

Prya nods in agreement.

Prya says 'Well, it was very nice to meet you! '

You say 'Thank you for all your help!'

Prya says 'Let me know if ever there is something I can do for you.'

You say 'I will!'

You smile at her.

Prya smiles happily.

Prya waves.

Prya leaves east.

Prya has arrived from the east.

Prya gives you a cake with white icing.
Prya gives you a spicy cake.
Prya gives you a strawberry cheesecake.
Prya gives you a piping hot applecake.

Prya says 'Fatten you up!'

Prya snickers softly.

Prya leaves west.

You drop a cake with white icing.
You drop a piping hot applecake.
You drop a strawberry cheesecake.
You drop a spicy cake.

She liked this accepted, the girl was kind and offering to be helpful. It seemed to her that this accepted had more interactions with the Aes Sedai than some of the others. Hopefully the accepted put in a good word that she was working hard in the kitchens and this could lead to her advancement. She paused for a moment to look at the cake sitting on the floor and went off in search of a broom.

A horse trader narrates 'Shadowspawn in Fal Dara! Rally to me!'

A large commotion could be heard through the square, the Tower Guards were all gathering and moving to the eastern gates. Shadowspawn were inside Fal Dara and the guards were preparing for further advancements south. She was worried, there had been so few soldiers in the city when she left and was afraid there would not be enough to defend the city. Without thinking, she quickly made use of her newly learned ability and rushed to help out.

Vianca the Tower Accepted is standing here.
The Fal Dara town crier stands here, spreading the news.

Vianca leaves west.

Seeing the Accepted immediately brought her relief but that quickly turned to panic. While Fal Dara would have aid in pushing back the shadowspawn, surely the accepted saw her and would report her to the Aes Sedai. Maybe the confusion and activity would hide her presence but the white dress would have stood out like a sore thumb. She quickly ran to a quiet corner of the keep and prepared to return to Tar Valon as quickly as possible.

Before the Keep
The main road through Fal Dara continues uphill to the north. Ahead of you is
the Keep of Fal Dara. It is an imposing stone structure that dominates the
skyline. Pennants bearing the black stag of Lord Agelmar wave in the crisp
breeze. Between you and the castle lies the moat and drawbridge.
[ obvious exits: N S ]
A hanging lantern lights the path.
A tough Shienaran soldier waits here.

On the Drawbridge
The sound of your passing echoes hollowly from the wooden timbers of the
drawbridge. Beneath you lies the murky waters of the moat. With its gates
before you stands one of the greatest fortesses of the Borderlands, the Keep
of Fal Dara.
[ obvious exits: N S ]
A hanging lantern lights the path.

Inner Gate of the Keep
This is the main entrance to the Keep. Above you gleam the well-oiled spikes
of the heavy iron portcullis, while the great doors of the keep are thrown
open. Faint light shines down through the archer's slots overhead. The walls
are high, steep, and thoroughly unclimbable. The floor is as smooth as
cobblestone can be, worn down the passing of thousands of feet and hooves.
[ obvious exits: N S ]
A hanging lantern lights the path.
A tough Shienaran soldier waits here.

Center of the Courtyard
Across the courtyard before you stands the true Keep of Fal Dara. This is the
residence of Lord Agelmar, whose family has ruled this city for generations.
The courtyard stretches off to the sides. The Keep's stables are off to the
west, and the guard barracks oversee the courtyard from the eastern end.

A hanging lantern lights the path.
An Illuminator's assistant stands here carrying some colored tubes.

Entrance Foyer
You have entered a large entry foyer. Functional tapestries, colorful
but simple, line the walls. Iron candelabra are evenly spaced between the
tapestries to provide an even light. Directly across from the main door of
the keep is a heavy wooden door, elegantly carved to signify its importance.
Corridors lead off to the east and to the west.
[ obvious exits: N E S W ]

Eastern Hall
An expertly woven but surprisingly spartan rug carpets your feet here in
the eastern wing of Lord Anglemar's castle. Simple but elegant tapestries
adorn the walls, depicting some of Fal Dara's most famous battles. The
hall turns north east of here, while an ascending stairwell visible in the
corner in that direction. West from here is the main entry foyer. You
notice narrow arrow slits lining the south wall...if here deep within the
keep the main thought is for defence.
[ obvious exits: E W ]
A quiet servant awaits instructions from his master.

East Wing of the Castle
This is the easternmost part of the keep. Simple but elegant tapestries
adorn the walls and the floor is covered with thick carpeting. The main
hallway continues to the north and runs back to the west. A plain looking
stairway in the corner of the room leads to the top floor of the keep.
[ obvious exits: N W U ]

Top of Eastern Stair
The walls of the hallway are covered with tapestries depicting famous
battles of Fal Dara. Lamps line the walls providing adequate light at
all times. The hallway turns to the north here and runs back to the west.
A large stairway in the corner of the room leads to one of the castle
turrets.
[ obvious exits: N W U D ]

Castle Turret
One of the two castle turrets of Fal Dara, this place is easily defended
should someone invade the town. Arrow slits line the walls so archers can
rain death upon invaders. Looking to the north you can make out Tarwin's
Gap and just beyond that the shimmering haze of the Blight.

A Shienaran sergeant watches for the enemy here.
A grizzled Shienaran veteran looks on.

Ok.
A flash of bright white light appears, and suddenly envelopes you.
The Sunrise Gate
The gateway is arched at the top and wide enough for fifteen men abreast.
The gates themselves are iron bound and the gilded rising suns high up in
the thick timber have been polished to shine with extraordinary luster.
Brackets set in the white wall support an enormous crossbar when it is not
in use. The Tower grounds lie to the west, while the square that surrounds
the Tower and its grounds on all sides lies to the east.

Path Through the East Garden
White, translucent gravel blankets the wide path and sparkles in the light,
whether it be day or night. The parkland stretches forth between the Tower
and the Sunrise Gate, to the east. Roses and calma bushes flank the paths.
The White Tower and the two domed wings that contain the Novice quarters
lies to the west, bordered by short shrubs. A broad stairs with steps at
least a span in depth reaches up to the entrance on the second floor.
Bronze lamps shaped like women holding flames aloft flank the stairs

Passing the Water Garden
The path enters a thicket and the foliage of the trees shade the path from
the sky. Just beyond the foliage lies a series of ponds and waterways.
Lilypads bob up and down on the waters and water irises add splashes of
yellow and purple to the scene. Arching bridge of white stone cross the
ponds, lined with lacy stone railings.

The Entry Hall
Two intricately carved doors, wide enough for fifteen men abreast lie to
the east, connecting this domed entry hall and a well tended garden to the
east, from which the scent of roses wafts in. Archways in the walls of
stonework the color of bleached bone allow for passage deeper into the
White Tower. The marble floor has been inlaid with a spiral of blue, brown,
gray, green, red, white and yellow, which converges in the center.

In the Broad Hallway
Pale stonework the color of bleached bone reaches up from the brightly
colored floor tiles and arches fifteen feet overhead, forming one of the
White Tower's main hallways. Despite the walls having been decorated with
murals and wall hanging, archways leading deeper into the Tower break the
stark monotony of the endless stretch of walls.
[ obvious exits: N E S W U ]

Vaulted Corridor
The walls of this corridor are stark and undecorated save for a small
painting of a woman doing penance. The arched ceiling gives the corridor
the appearance of being taller than its fifteen feet. Both the walls and
ceiling are made of a pale white stone that seems to enhance the
illumination of the tall stand lamps, which are plain in this section of
the Tower. The floor consists of plain gray tiles, which are worn smooth.
[ obvious exits: N D ]
A quiet servant awaits instructions from his master.

Lower Corridor
This plain corridor lies on the ground floor of the Tower, near the
Kitchens. Although there is another kitchen and accompanying dining halls
on the second floor, they have not been in use in centuries. This kitchen is
conveniently placed on the ground floor, so supplies to feed the many
mouths in the Tower can easily be brought in.
[ obvious exits: E U ]

The Kitchens
The smells of food fills this large, high ceilinged room, the scent of
meats mingling with those of fruits and vegetables. A long stone fireplace
with spits lies in the center of the eastern wall, the roasting spits being
turned by spit dogs running in their wicker baskets. Iron stoves and ovens
have been placed along other walls. Three large pairs of doors flank the
kitchen and a glimpse reveals they are large dining halls. Gray tiles cover
the floor and a large sink occupies a corner of the room.
[ obvious exits: E W ]
You feel an odd disturbance in the Pattern here.
A giant sink sits here, filled with many dirty dishes.
A hunk of beef has been left here. [2]
A large man eyes the surroundings warily, every movement fluid.
A rudely confident woman with an ageless face walks by.
A quiet servant awaits instructions from his master.
An Accepted stands here, ready to fulfill any Aes Sedai request.
Laras the Mistress of the Kitchens is here directing the kitchen workers.

You scrub the dishes.

She continued her chores like nothing had happened, Laras had been busy preparing the evening meal and had her back turned when she travelled out. She thought for a moment she might be safe, when suddenly she understood the resonance in the room. Her relief turned into panic again, how long would that linger and would they know it was her. She quickly fled the kitchens back to her chambers and locked herself in. She sat on her bed watching the door waiting for a knock as she contemplated her next steps.

The knock never came, she woke up the next day as the sun rose and set off on her daily tasks. Seemingly the Accepted did not notice her brief trip to Fal Dara and noone picked up on the resonance from her traveling. She was glad she was not caught, she had enough merits to advance to Accepted and soon she would be free to return to Fal Dara as she pleased. Now if only she could find an Aes Sedai to advance her.

This wide corridor has smooth white walls of a color like bleached bone,
while the floor is covered with colorful floortiles in the colors of the
seven Ajahs: blue, brown, gray, green, red, white and yellow. A large mural
consisting of different panels shows the declaration of the False Dragon
Raolin Darksbane, his capture by Aes Sedai, and his Gentling in the
Traitor's Court, which lies behind a thick door to the north.

Junction in the Hallway
Two plain corridors paved with gray tiles intersect with a cavernous
hallway of white stone paved with brightly colored tiles. Tall, gilded
stand lamps cast a warm, flickering light on the art that lines the pale
stonework walls of the hallway, varying from large murals to colorful wall
hangings and statuettes placed on small pillared pedestals.

A Round Entry Hall
Two intricately carved doors, wide enough for twelve men abreast lie to the
north, forming the main exit for those who leave the White Tower proper to
visit the famed Tower Library, which lies is a separate building to the
north. Archways in the walls of stonework the color of bleached bone lead
to other areas of the Tower, including the guest quarters.

Path Passing the Spring Garden
To the east of the main path between the White Tower proper and the Tower
Library lies the Spring Garden. Situated on a triangular plot of land
between two walls, it has been planted with shade loving plants. Hydrangeas
in white, pink and purple mingle with bristleboughs with thin, finger-like
leaves. Bleeding hearts, with their tiny pink blossoms drooping from
delicate three pronged compound leaves have been planted in rows.

On Wide Marble Stairs
Wide marble stairs with deep steps rise to the second and main floor of the
Great Library of Tar Valon. The priceless tomes being kept above ground
level is no doubt to account for any major floods of the Erinin River which
encircles the island of Tar Valon. A pair of tall carved doors on bronze

A pair of double doors containing small square glass panes keeps draft and
moisture ouf of this entrance hall. Two spiralling, cast iron staircases
with railings depicting a variety of leaves and fruits lead up to the upper
floor, where some Brown Sisters keep their quarters. Several large desks,
each with a gilded tablelamp and writing supplies stand in the hallway,
allowing the librarians to prevent visitors to the library from taking any
of the priceless tomes with them to the outside.

A small room lies before the head librarians office to the north, which is

the counter, and a number of low, wheeled book carts clutter the room,
containing books in need of filing. An end-table in the southwest corner
contains a few worn-looking books, including one whose binding is in
tatters. An exit north leads back into the hallway. A sign is posted over a
bookshelf detailing instructions for book re-shelving.

In a Hallway
The wide hallway concludes to the east at a tall archway with carved double
doors on bronze hinges, which pierce the pale white stone wall. The wall
has been carved with surprisingly lifelike foaming waves, flickering
flames, whirling clouds, tumbling boulders, with a rainbow arching through
the entire scene. Other archways and doors lie to the north and south,
offering access to a few of the other library's depositories.

A large desk made of fine, thick wood stands across the room from here.

All the dishes were done and books in the library shelved. She had completed all other tasks assigned to her and had little else to do. She knew the hallways well now and could move quickly through the tower but still not quiet as fast as the Aes Sedai that inducted her. Maybe I should practice running through the tower, maybe that will get someones attention she thought. Her diligence at the daily chores seemed to be going unnoticed and she had received very little actual instruction. She sat down at the desk in the library waiting to see if any other books would be dropped off or if an Aes Sedai would enter the library looking for a book.

The mural on the wall drew her attention, it was an odd combination of events. Everything in the tower served a purpose she reminded herself but what was the significance of this mural. Ocean, fire, clouds, boulders, and a rainbow. What was the significance of the rainbow?, she thought to herself. Water, fire, air, earth each were clearly represented. Wait, was the rainbow meant to be spirit? she thought. She looked closer at the mural and began to realize what it meant. The rainbow did represent spirit and covered the entirety of the other elements. Did spirit tie all the elements together? Was that the lesson here? she said quietly to herself. She spun this idea over and over in her head, this might be the piece she was missing, she was too focused on each element and not how they all fit together in her weaves. She quickly rushed out to the nearby forest to test out her theories.

The mural had been helpful, she felt as though her control was improving and her weaves were more refined. Did she really need an Aes Sedai to teach her? She had been learning on her own her whole life and all they had done for her so far was enter her name into a book. She been regretting leaving Fal Dara and deeply missed the city she called home. Her last trip to the city went unnoticed, perhaps she could return and stay longer. With that thought in mind, she headed quickly north.

A torch is here on the ground.
A stout wooden barrel stands nearby.
The waters of a blue-veined marble fountain pour forth here.
A hanging lantern lights the path.
You notice a mirrored lantern is hidden here.
Ted Ted the Aspiring Cavalryman of the Shienaran Lancers is resting here.
Lord Raal the Lieutenant is standing here.
A Shienaran sergeant watches for the enemy here.
A dun mare is here, snorting angrily.
An Illuminator's assistant stands here carrying some colored tubes.
A gray haired weaponsmaster stands nearby.

Ted stops resting, and clambers on his feet.

Ted says 'Ye be making a mistake being here.'

Ted looks at you.

Ted beckons you to follow him.

You say 'mistake?'

Athroc has arrived from the south, riding a Domani razor.

Ted says 'Ye be going back to Tar Valon.'

You say 'Tar Valon does not seem to want me'

You shrug.

Ted says 'Ye were affiliated when ye came out of yer room.'

Ted says 'Now ye not be affiliated?'

You say 'I have not seen an Aes Sedai in months'

Ted says 'It be their fault or yers?'

You say 'Lets see, library, kitchens, brooms, dresses, itching powder, and rats. All of their tasks completed but yet still no sign of an Aes Sedai.'

You say 'I figured I would return and see if I could be of assistance here.'

You smile happily.

Ted says 'It be not my place to question the Aes Sedai, nor it be yours, I be thinking.'

You say 'I wish there was an Aes Sedai for me to question.'

You sigh.

Ted says 'We be not needin' to see lives risked of untrained persons here in the north, though finales may seem to think otherwise.'

Koe has arrived from the south.

Koe looks at Raal.

Ted says 'I be wishing that too. Bantying words seem easier for southlanders.'

You say 'Untrained? I am more trained than some of the girls that call themselves accepted'

You smile at him.

Ted says 'be maybe over my head or ye be being rude.'

The night has begun.

Ted says 'Ye be thinkin' yer better than those girls?'

You shake your head.

You say 'I simply have more experience that is all.'

Ted says 'I've recognized less names and all seem experienced, tis true, but I be not recognizing yours nor your experience.'

This was troublesome, had she been gone from the city too long? How many months had it been since she left? This Lancer did not remember her or perhaps he was new to the city himself. Would she have to prove herself again to those in the city? Did Lord Agelmar pass down a new edict? She had been welcomed in the city before when she was truly untrained, why was there resistance now? She tried to push the doubt out of her mind and just enjoy the moment of being back home.

You nod at him.

Koe tries to steal something from Ted.

You say 'That is not surprising, I have been away from the city for months.'

Ted says 'Koe, theft be a crime in Fal Dara.'

Koe says 'I stabbed the fades!'

Ted says 'And I be blind to nuance.'

Ted nods at you.

Ted says 'I sent a missive to the Aes Sedai'

Ted says 'be thinkin' ye can wait and see if one comes or be scootin' home.'

The sun rises in the east breathing life into a new day.

You smile happily.

The day has begun.

You say 'Weather is a bit warmer than when I was hear last, is this the beginning of spring?'

You smile happily.

Ted says 'maybe maybe.'

Ted says 'I be warm sometimes and cold sometimes.'

You nod in agreement.

Ted says 'extremes more or less'

Ted says 'brisk is more likely than calm.'

You nod in agreement.

The master of scouts bellows 'Incoming message!!'
The master of scouts bellows 'Seroma was spotted Tarwins Gap'

Ted says 'I cannae stay to make sure someone takes you to Tar Valon anymore Lynera, but I be sending a full account of your absence and explanation'

Ted says 'ye be making a choice and I hope ye be knowin' yer consequences.'

You nod at him.

Ted says 'Rumors of farming in Tar Valon dannae be close to rumors of farming in Illian.'

A bartender bellows 'Darkfriend Seroma is attacking me!! Guards!'
A bartender bellows 'Darkfriend Seroma is attacking me!! Guards!'

Raal leaves south.

On the Drawbridge

of Fal Dara.

The Crossing
Northward along the thoroughfare lies the great keep of Fal Dara. Running to

The ceaseless banging of a smithy comes from the east, while the equally
unmistakeable sounds of a tavern come from the west.

As quickly as the trolloc appeared, it disappeared, leaping off an archers turret down to the dusty road. This brief engagement gave her a moment of clarity, she was fast and understood the best position to cut off escape but slow on her weaving. She failed to even singe or burn or mildly annoy the trolloc. Maybe the Lancer was right and she was untrained and being pomp in proclaiming her experience. She quickly gathered her things and rode back to Tar Valon, donning her white dress once again before entering thru the lugade gate. Hopefully the letter would not reach Tar Valon she wished silently as she slipped back into her chambers.
