Caemlyn Central Square
Balour is in a large stone square, right in the middle of Caemlyn's outer
city. You see a wide boulevard to the north, and the path to the inner
city. There are a number of shops around you. The density of the population
is really quite incredible. It's almost impossible to relax as you are
being constantly bumped and jostled. From here you can really get a good
view of the outer city, and this just makes you appreciate the older inner
city all the more. A large banner hangs nearby, depicting a map of
Caemlyn's outer city.
[ obvious exits: N E S W ]
A fountain is here, offering clear blue water to all.
A marble bench, flecked with gold and bronze, adorns the floor.
A stout wooden barrel stands nearby.
An oil lamp, set in a steel cage, hangs from a high wooden pole.
A man is here.
Amellia of Illian is standing here, riding a gray palfrey.
Lord Rayven the Inquisitor, A'vron'toh rahien is standing here.
The Caemlyn town crier stands here, spreading the news.
A gleeman is here, playing a lute.

Balour says 'Inquisitor Rayven, what about the witches in Tar Valon, are they all Darkfriends?'

Amellia says 'a little harsh for my palette'

The Caemlyn cityguard has arrived from the west.
The day has begun.

Rayven says 'The answer to that is different for each Child or Hand, but I do not believe so.'

Ryver has arrived from the north, riding a Domani razor.

Ryver stops riding a Domani razor.

Ryver leaves east.

The Caemlyn cityguard leaves west.

Ryver has arrived from the east.

Ryver starts riding a Domani razor.

Ryver leaves north riding a Domani razor.

Rayven says 'There are darkfriends in their midst, but if we do not interact with them then they will never give us the darkfriends they find.'

Rayven frowns.

Balour nods in agreement.

Felurian leaves north riding a dun mare.

A city lamplighter extinguishes a streetlamp.

Amellia says 'but surley, they deal with them harshly?'

Rayven says 'I do not know.'

Ryver has arrived from the north, riding a Domani razor.

Rayven says 'Is a Stilling or a Gentling equal to an opportunity to return to the Light?'

Ryver leaves north riding a Domani razor.

Rayven says 'I have not witnessed either. But I do not think much redemption comes from the act.'

Amellia says 'I do not know, I don't recall meeting anyone that has happened to'

Balour says 'Stilling or gentling are an opportunity to stop the misuse of something only meant for the Creator.'

Amellia says 'but then I am not a wordley wise as some'

Amellia nods in agreement.

Rayven says 'I think it's true'

A man leaves east.

Rayven says 'It's rare to see any darkfriends before they've announced themselves and it used to be more common that suddenly they were Dreadlords or Myrddraals.'

A man has arrived from the east.

Amellia says 'and once their mind has been cleared of that, they are free to see the light again. it is seen as a kind of fog?'

A man leaves east.
Balour says 'Have you ever apprehended a Darkfriend before they shouted it to the world Inquisitor Rayven?'

The Caemlyn cityguard has arrived from the west.

Rayven says 'My memory tells me I have, but nostalgia deludes the truth most often.'

Amellia says 'I regularly see at least two of them, and they have both fired spikes of ice at me'

The Caemlyn cityguard has arrived from the south.

Balour says 'You are not as fervent as some of your brethren Inquisitor Rayven.'

Rayven says 'Nor as I once was, Balour.'

Balour says 'I would be interested in a lesson on the way of the Light from your perspective.'

Rayven says 'I do not call it the wisdom of age. But, if the Final Battle comes, we must have branches so that true leadership can emerge. '

Rayven strokes his chin thoughtfully.

The Caemlyn cityguard leaves south.

Rayven says 'I haven't sermoned in ages, but I will say that in my reflections on Mantelar's work, I often found myself reflecting on his statement'

The Caemlyn cityguard has arrived from the north.
Balour says 'Aye?'

Rayven says ''if right thought is drowned in sensation , and right action hindered by passions', then where do we leave ourselves?'

The Caemlyn cityguard leaves south.

Rayven says 'It seems often that passions consumes and destroys the intent of the original action and reinforces the sensationalization of right thoughts.'

Rayven says 'A clear head is required to make judgments in order to honor the Creator and do his work as was intended, and not as is interpreted.'

Tejin has arrived from the north, riding a roan charger.

Felurian has arrived from the north, riding a wild stallion.

The Caemlyn cityguard has arrived from the south.

Balour says 'Perhaps those of lesser intellect are more fueled by passion and become sensationalism because they know no better.'

Tejin stops riding a roan charger.

Tejin leaves south.

Tejin has arrived from the south.

Tejin starts riding a roan charger.

The Caemlyn cityguard leaves east.

Rayven says 'If one knows no better, who is at fault? '

Felurian says 'No, most people are jsut gullible idiots.'

Felurian nods in agreement.

Balour says 'The one who knows no better is at fault.'

Rayven says 'More at fault at least than the one who knew nothing.'

Amellia says 'but if they know no better, how could they be at fault?'

Felurian says 'ignorance does not preclude culpability.'

Rayven says 'Fair question. If a thief steals bread for a starving child, is the child a criminal for holding stolen goods?'

Amellia nods in agreement.

Balour says 'I look at it like I look at farming, we all have the ability to attain the same tools, it takes some longer, then when tool in hand everyone has different kinds of soil at hand.'

Amellia says 'exactly'

The Caemlyn town crier beams a smile at Rayven.

Rayven nods at Balour.

Felurian says 'most of the time, in fact, things about which people are culpable are born out of ignorance. Which means leniency by wisdom is the true path.'

Amellia says 'but what if you had no tools, and not everyone has that ability'

Ezmodius has arrived from the north, riding a bloodstock stallion.

Rayven says 'It is important for us to simply acknowledge and help point out the tools others hold or have dropped.'

Ezmodius starts leading a bloodstock stallion.
A bloodstock stallion now follows Ezmodius.

Ezmodius leaves east.
A bloodstock stallion leaves east.

Balour nods in agreement.

Amellia nods in agreement.

Felurian says 'I think putting them in the barrel is probably a more tangible option.'

Amellia says 'I agree M'lord Rayven. Then if they continue they have no excuse'

Rayven says 'Unfortunately in a world of eternal return such as we have, the action of putting someone in a barrel becomes meaningless.'

Aviatari has arrived from the north.

Balour says 'Do you point out to your brothers and sisters in the Child of Light and Hand of Light that most in the rank have become zealots and hold to an interruption of the Way of Light that is rooted in emotion?'

Felurian says 'The wheel weaves as the wheel wills. Unless people act to change it the pattern, I suppose.'

Balour tilts his head and studies Rayven carefully.

Aviatari leaves north.

Tejin leaves north riding a roan charger.

The sun sets.

Rayven says 'When it is a conversation topic, yes, and it generally arises as they ask me if they have seen Witches.'

Rayven says 'or rather, if I have seen witches.'

Felurian says 'but not like. seen seen, witches, right?'

The Caemlyn cityguard has arrived from the north.
Felurian falls down laughing.

Rayven says 'I do not fault them and they are righteous in their quest.'

Rayven says 'It is simply not my path to help the Light toward a victory at the Final Battle.'

Rayven nods at Felurian.

The Caemlyn town crier beams a smile at Rayven.

The night has begun.

A city lamplighter runs off, mumbling about some low-paying job.

Balour says 'I do not envy your position Inquisitor Rayven.'

A man has arrived from the east.

Felurian says 'Wait, What?'

A man leaves west.

Felurian peers closely at Rayven, trying to figure him out.

Rayven looks at Felurian.

Rayven says 'It is a choice as much as any other.'

A pike has been raised here for showing off trophies.

Balour nods in agreement.

Rayven says 'I will not abandon my brethern in an act of self-righteous sensation.'

Rayven chuckles politely.

Standing on a pike in the square is the head of Byrg.

The sky starts to get cloudy.

Rayven says 'The snake loops.'

Balour says 'Nor should you.'

Felurian says 'Or eats its own tail, you could say.'

Felurian nods in agreement.

Amellia nods in agreement.

The Caemlyn cityguard has arrived from the west.

Standing on a pike in the square is the head of Byrg.

The Caemlyn cityguard leaves north.

Felurian nods in agreement.

Amellia says 'we each walk our own path, guided by others as we cross'

Balour says 'At what point did you become less zealous and no longer blinded by passion? '

Balour says 'You said you are not as zealous as you were when you were younger, what was that changing point?'

Rayven says 'My heart softened at the loss of Kesumi to the Shadow, but broke at the empty barracks of Amador for several seasons.'

Amellia says 'if it is not too personal a time'

Balour nods at Rayven.

Felurian boggles at the thought.

Rayven shrugs helplessly.

Balour says 'Kesumi at the point before he turned to the Shadow had been on a massive recruiting spree hadn't he?'

The Caemlyn cityguard leaves west.

Rayven says 'One spends a lot of time in reflection in an empty Fortress of Light that produced an agent of shadow.'

The fountain drains and refills with fresh, clean water.

Amellia says 'I am sorry, I can not imagine'

Rayven says 'I'm sure of it and I don't know. He definitely had his hand in protecting many agents of the Shadow.'

Rayven says 'Even if it was mostly his own work that he protected.'

Balour nods in agreement.

Balour says 'What is a lesson that you could say many should learn from the actions of Kesumi?'

Amellia says 'did you blame your self?'

Rayven shakes his head at Amellia.

Amellia says 'I am sorry if that is inappropriate'

A woman has arrived from the west.

Felurian leaves north riding a wild stallion.

Rayven says 'We are not beholden to the failures of those around us. But, it is always in our best interest to act with kindness and awareness of intent, with a smidggen of suspicion about those we love.'

Rayven chuckles politely.

Rayven says 'Probably more good would come from everyone being a little more suspicious about the people they trusted the mjost.'

A woman leaves south.

Balour nods in agreement.

Amellia says 'a harsh lesson'

Rayven says 'Programmed trust leads to blind belief and then rage-filled reactions.'

Rayven sighs loudly.

Balour says 'Thank you for that insight Inquisitor Rayven.'

Rayven says 'Thank you for letting an old man be nostalgic about the past.'

Amellia says 'I would feel even more alone if I did not have anyone I trusted. I do not give it lightly and it has to be earned'

Rayven says 'These days I simple travel the lands of Andor looking for thieves. '

A man has arrived from the west.

Amellia nods in agreement.

Rayven says 'Sometimes the way we let people earn trust is not hard for them to do.'

A woman has arrived from the south.

Rayven says 'While it may seem like a huge leap for them, it may have taken little effort.'

Amellia says 'yes, thank you, wisdom is always a good lesson'

Rayven shrugs helplessly.

The sun rises.

Amellia nods in agreement.

Rayven says 'Be willing to give it and be willing to forgive yourself for mistakes, but don't confuse a hard application with a worthy accomplishment.'

Balour says 'What do you do with thieves when you find them?'

Amellia says 'i suppose when i think on it, I have that suspicion at first. Hmmm...'

Rayven says 'I mean specifically, Balour, that I hunt trolloc thieves that seem to have made a home in Caemlyn and Andor in general.'

Amellia ponders life, the universe, and everything.

A woman says 'You haven't heard of any shadowspawn near here, have you?'
A man leaves east.

Rayven says 'I fight the Dark directly on that front.'

A woman looks about fearfully.

Balour nods, 'Ahhh, I see.'

Rayven says 'I must rent for now though. Other duties call for my eyes.'

Rayven inclines his head in greeting to Amellia.

Rayven inclines his head in greeting to Balour.

Amellia nods in agreement.

Amellia curtseys before Rayven.

Rayven says 'May the Creator Bless you and good luck in your journeys.'

Rayven leaves north.

A man has arrived from the east.

Amellia says 'thanks M'Lord. and you'

Amellia says 'a deep man'

Amellia nods in agreement.
