~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elisende has arrived from the south.
Elisende slips quietly into the practice yard.
Elisende the Fledgling Novice is a level 46 White Tower human.
A beautiful young woman with the hautre of the aristocracy.
The night has begun.
Draz yawns.
Reyne glances over at Elisende.
Reyne says 'Typically, novice, one would curtsey to Gaidin or Aes Sedai.'
Reyne smiles faintly at the novice.
Elisende starts halfway towards the horse she was heading for.
Elisende rounds in a panic.
The Warders Practice Yard
The ground here has been cleared of all vegetation and the earth has been
compacted to provide good footing for the warders and their students to
practice on. The tall trees surrounding the clearing provide shade for the
men practicing. Racks are scattered across the clearing and along the
walls. The teachers often watch their students duel each other with wooden
practice swords.
A sign hangs on the wall.
An iron lantern hangs from the wall above the gate.
Some elaborate figurines spew fresh water into a broad basin here.
A weapon rack stands on the ground here, ready to store weapons.
Lord Draz the Gaidin Master is resting here.
Elisende the Fledgling Novice is standing here.
A pale destrier stands here, adorned with the white flame of Tar Valon.
A wild stallion bucks madly.
A warder's student stands here catching his breath.
A warder's student stands here catching his breath.
A pale destrier stands here, adorned with the white flame of Tar Valon.
A grim storyteller reads from a journal.
A warder's student stands here catching his breath.
A warder's student stands here catching his breath.
Coulin the Master of Arms is here teaching his students.
A gray haired weaponsmaster stands nearby.
Elisende appears shocked to see an Aes Sedai
Reyne casually sips on her water skin.
Elisende sketches a barely adequate curtsey.
Elisende says 'Uh... yes.. my apologies '
Elisende edges guiltily away from the horse.
Reyne nods at her. 'It can take some getting used to.'
Elisende shifts a sack of provisions mostly out of sight.
Reyne observes the novice carefully.
Reyne says 'So, where were you off to?'
As you watch Draz seems to melt into the background, vanishing.
Elisende says 'I thought I would familiarize myself with the city Aes Sedai'
Elisende lies through her teeth.
Reyne sighs.
Reyne says 'You are not a very good liar, dear.'
Reyne stops resting, and stands up.
Reyne walks over to her. 'And this pack is for?'
Elisende raises her chin.
Elisende says 'I clearly have much to learn from the masters'
Reyne snickers softly.
Reyne says 'Indeed. It is usually better to hide your meaning in plain sight and with half truths.'
Elisende drops the sack, spilling out dried foods and supplies obviously meant for an attempt at
flight.
Reyne says 'I suppose you mean to run away again?'
Elisende says 'Reconiotiring the city can be hungry work '
Elisende says brightly 'Of course not Aes Sedai.'
Elisende's voice turns bitter.
Elisende says 'After all I would only be kidnappd in the middle of the night and locked in a
scullery cupboard'
Elisende says 'Not so?'
Reyne says 'That is usually the fate of runaways with whom the Tower has unfinished business.'
Reyne says 'Will you tell me, why?'
Elisende says 'Sounds much better than abductees, runaways'
Elisende says 'I was dragged here when I was a child'
Elisende says 'Plied with all manner of lies about how dangerous it was to have the spark'
Elisende says 'and forced to sign my name in your cursed book'
Fyra has arrived from the south, riding a warhorse.
The White Tower's spire softly reflects lights from the city.
Elisende says 'Then I was stuck in a kitchen and forced to work for hours'
Elisende says 'And beaten if I disobeyed'
Reyne looks at her intently.
Elisende says 'Why wouldn't I run away?'
Elisende says 'Especially after it turns out that its all a lie anyway'
Elisende says 'I've met plenty of women who never came here and have the spark'
Fyra sighs loudly.
Elisende says 'and they are all fine'
Reyne says 'You cannot, though, have met the women who did not turn out fine. Presumably.'
Reyne taps her chin with one finger thoughtfully.
Leria has arrived from the south.
Reyne says 'However, if you have safely learned to control yourself and you wish to leave I do not want to hold you against your will... There are proper ways of handling it though.’
Leria stops using a leather water flask.
Leria gently fills a leather water flask from a fountain.
Leria puts a leather water flask on her belt.
Fyra curtseys before Leria.
Leria nods at Fyra as she fills up her water flask for traveling.
Leria leaves south.
Elisende says 'Oh sure'
Elisende says 'Tear everything I've learned out of my head'
Elisende says 'After you have twice destroyed my life'
Elisende mutters to herself in complete disgust.
The officedoor is opened from the other side.
Skadi has arrived from the west.
Skadi sits down and rests.
The officedoor closes quietly.
Skadi smiles happily.
Reyne nods at him.
Reyne says 'Not so much that you won't still be able to channel. Just... some of the more dangerous weaves, yes.'
Fyra curtseys before Skadi.
Reyne says 'Who was it that brought you here as a child?'
Elisende says 'I don’t recall'
Elisende says 'Some blue or another'
Elisende glances meaningfully at Reyne's shawl.
Skadi stops resting, and clambers on his feet.
Skadi leaves south.
Reyne says 'And were you abducted or did your family let you go?'
Fyra leaves south riding a warhorse.
Elisende says 'Like they had any choice'
Elisende says 'Probably believed the same nonsense I was fed'
Elisende says 'about how I would die without training'
Reyne muses 'Indeed. Not that I suppose it matters much at this point regardless.'
Elisende says 'Plus who can say no to an Aes Sedai?'
Elisende says 'You might find your house burned in the middle of the night'
Reyne quietly says 'Has it truly been so terrible for you here, girl, that you believe Aes Sedai
would do these things?'
Elisende says 'Why would I not'
Elisende replies petulantly.
Elisende says 'I've heard of Aes Sedai putting people to sleep and then cutting their throats'
Elisende says 'Heard them boast about it'
Reyne says 'Darkfriends, or otherwise those who would kill us without a moment's hesitation.'
Elisende says 'I myself was abducted and locked in a airless scullery cupboard'
Elisende says 'and kept there with nothing but a trickle of water until it pleased them to release
me'
Elisende says 'Burning down someones house dosent seem to be that much of a stretch from killing them in their sleep'
Elisende looks at her fallen supplies morosely, clearly the fruit of days of stealing from the
kitchen.
Elisende mutters to herself in complete disgust.
Reyne says 'I don't think Aes Sedai would resort to such tactics even if the oaths did not prevent
them. We are not stalking into bedrooms and slitting throats, although we do put hostile enemies to sleep so they can be more easily attacked.'
Reyne sighs.
Reyne meets your eyes. 'I will admit that I played some part in tracking you down. I did not know your history, I only knew there was an initiate using dangerous weaves about the world. I will have a chat with Laras about the water and… the cupboard.'
Elisende says 'You helped track me down?'
Elisende glares up with sudden fury.
Elisende says 'I was free for YEARS'
Reyne chuckles mirthlessly. 'I've only been shawled for some months.'
Elisende says 'Mores the pity'
Elisende mutters something about untrustworthy innkeepers.
Elisende says 'I kept everthing so secret'
Elisende sighs loudly.
Reyne says 'In the end, the weaves you used made you easy to track down.'
Reyne waves her hand dismissively. 'Regardless. I make you the following offer.'
Elisende smiles bitterly.
Elisende says 'So easy it only took a couple of years apparently'
Elisende tosses her hair.
Elisende looks at Draz.
Elisende looks at Reyne.
Reyne says 'Take your horse, and leave. You can have the customary sack of gold, if you wish. No need to scrounge for supplies. You will be removed from our books, and you will not be bothered henceforth unless you pretend to be Aes Sedai. Or, you can stay. I will take a personal interest in your training and I will not abuse you.'
Reyne says 'I cannot speak for what happened in the past, but I do feel like you have gotten a very...skewed... perspective on what goes on here.'
Elisende glances between the Aes Sedai and the horse, her eyes uncertain.
Elisende reaches for the fallen sack of supplies, her hand shaking slightly as she does so, fingers
pausing a few inches from the fabric.
Elisende straightens slowly, placing her hands on her hips.
Elisende says 'Very well'
Elisende sags as though deflated by the effort of the conversation.
Elisende says 'There is no where for me to go'
Elisende says 'And I might as well not be hungry in addition to homeless'
Reyne quietly says 'I was thinking that might be the case, thus the offer of gold. However, I am
glad you have decided to stay at least a little longer.'
Aishling has arrived from the south.
Reyne greets Aishling with a light kiss on her cheek.
Aishling greets Reyne with a light kiss on the cheek.
Elisende curtsies jerkily.
Aishling looks at Elisende archly.
Aishling says 'Grace comes in time child.'
Elisende says 'apologies Aes Sedai, I have, until recently been locked in a scullery, bad for the
joints'
Aishling tells Reyne 'I recognize that name'
Elisende casts a baleful look back at the Tower.
Aishling tells Reyne 'from years ago I think?'
Aishling says 'Locked in a scullery?'
Reyne replies to Aishling 'Hm. Perhaps. She was a runaway for years, only recently returned. Hence locked in the scullery.'
Reyne replies to Aishling 'or rather, bundled off from the inn she was staying in and put in Laras'
kitchens.'
Aishling tells Reyne 'Ohhhhhh that's the one the Amyrlin posted on!'
Reyne frowns darkly. 'I will have a chat with Laras about that.'
Elisende nods in agreement.
Aishling nods at Reyne.
Draz smiles happily.
Draz hugs Reyne.
Draz looks at Reyne.
Reyne says 'I will also speak to Sheriam Sedai about restoring your privileges.'
Elisende views the two Aes Sedai with suspicion.
Aishling says 'Tell me about this abduction.'
Skadi has arrived from the south, riding a wild stallion.
Skadi says 'hey'
Aishling says 'Hello Skadi'
Aishling smiles happily.
Elisende says 'I had escaped from the Tower and had been living my life quite happily'
Aishling sighs softly.
Elisende says 'Until one night I went to sleep and then awoke locked in a room filled with dirty
pots'
Reyne taps her chin with one finger thoughtfully.
Reyne says 'So... you've been on the run for years. I wonder, how long did you spend at the Tower before you left?'
Draz thinks hard.
Elisende says 'Some months Aes Sedai'
Aishling nods slowly.
Aishling looks at Elisende.
Elisende says 'It took me a while'
Elisende says 'I had to find a ships captain I could bribe'
Draz tells Reyne 'someone made a novice and then absconded to enjoy having clanned weaves?'
Florry has arrived from the south.
Reyne says 'Hm. You were probably planning from the day you arrived.'
Draz tells Reyne 'and is now bloody lying?'
Florry whispers something to Aishling.
Reyne smiles very faintly. 'Fair to assume?'
Elisende says 'Which was surprisingly difficult when all I had to barter with was wine I stole from the kitchen'
Elisende blushes.
Elisende says 'Yes Aes Sedai'
Aishling whispers something to Florry.
Aishling says 'Bribery, Running away..'
Reyne says 'I wonder if, feeling the injustice of having been taken to Tar Valon against your will and the subsequent anxieties and fears about being caught for years... if perhaps your opinion of the Tower is biased a bit?'
Reyne says 'I assure you, none of my sisters would burn down your family's home.'
Aishling nods at Reyne.
Elisende appears dubious having met Lara Sedai once.
The sky starts to get cloudy.
Draz says 'wine stolen from the kitchens,.. this does not sound like an airless scullery to me, that
said perhaps the Novices do not complain to gaidin. Personally I am shocked that Reyne Sedai is
taking such an interest in this inconsistent story. But that is why she is Aes Sedai, and perhaps
reflects how she tolerates me.'
Draz says 'my apologies for interrupting Reyne Sedai'
Draz eyes those present, clearly disgruntled.
Elisende says 'Perhaps Aes Sedai'
Reyne looks at Aishling. 'I was going to say, surely not even the Reds.'
Reyne says 'But they can be intimidating, true.'
Elisende says 'Although being snatched in the middle of the night...'
Draz whispers something to Reyne. “Might want to not let her dish out so much dung.”
The officedoor is opened from the other side.
Marshall has arrived from the west.
Leria has arrived from the west.
A pale destrier has arrived from the west.
The officedoor closes quietly.
Marshall sits down and rests.
Aishling nods at Reyne in complete agreement.
Leria sits down and rests.
Aishling greets Leria with a light kiss on her cheek.
Florry blanches, and begins bowing profusely as she understands the nature of this gathering.
Florry says 'Please forgive my intrusion, Aes Sedais.'
Florry leaves south.
Leria greets Aishling with a light kiss on her cheek.
Leria greets Reyne with a light kiss on the cheek.
Leria takes a seat beside Marshall to listen.
Reyne replies to Draz 'Mm. I want to let her vent a bit heh but yeah I'll reign her in. She's a lot less haughty than she was earlier though'
Draz tells Reyne 'I'd still lock her in a cupboard to rot with rats.'
Elisende shrugs in an obvious attempt at making a peace with events.
Elisende says 'I suppose I have seen worse things happen'
Draz tells Reyne 'I liked the bit about how she cannot have met those who it didnt turn out well for'
Aishling says 'Have you?'
Elisende nods in agreement.
Aishling looks at the novice.
Elisende says 'Before I was recaptured I made my home in Marone'
Elisende says 'I tired to help the refugees there'
Draz looks around slowly, as if something is hidden in the room.
Elisende says 'But I could only do so much without revealing myself'
Draz says 'I have spent a lot of time in Maerone.'
Leria whispers something to Aishling.
Draz says 'and the refugees there always appreciate assistance.'
Draz says 'strange that your face is not familiar.'
Elisende lifts her chin.
Elisende says 'I'd never have evaded the Tower for as long as I did if I stopped to gawk at passing Gaidin'
Reyne chuckles quietly.
Reyne says 'Fair point there, Gaidin.'
Skadi says 'Perhaps you can make up for lost time.'
Skadi strikes a pose and flexes.
Elisende says 'If you will excuse me for saying so'
Leria steals a glance from the corner of her eye.
Elisende's lips twitch towards a smile inspite of her best efforts.
Reyne says 'Elisende, I am sure this has been exhausting. You may be excused if you wish to leave. I will speak with Sheriam Sedai as I said. I hope you will not make me regret it, as I will not be very lenient if so.'
Aishling murmurs 'Well at least we don't have to worry about her peeking at the warder students
while they practice.'
Reyne whispers to Elisende 'If you need to talk, or you need help, or anything, let me know. You strike me as intelligent and capable and it would be a shame for you to leave us with such emnity, even if you eventually choose to not become Aes Sedai. And if you decide you must leave, again we will arrange it on more amicable terms.'
Elisende curtseys gracefully.
Elisende says 'Thank you Aes Sedai'
Draz tells Reyne 'I'd be hesitant trusting someone who stole wine to barter for their passage to
freedom, and would look to investigate whichever ship captain assisted them!'
Elisende says 'I must tell you that I cannot access the chambers'
Elisende says 'And if I am led in Kerinna ejects me'
Aishling frowns.
Reyne says 'You have my permission to sleep in an inn here in the city until that is resolved.'
Elisende says 'SO I am unable to rent as I am supposed to'
Elisende curtseys gracefully.
Elisende says 'Thank you Aes Sedai'
Aishling says 'It will be noted.'
Leria says 'Kennira is quite the stickler sometimes. '
Aishling nods at Leria.
Elisende manages a curtsey that is a little more graceful than her earlier insolent attempts.
Aishling chuckles politely.
Elisende says 'Light shine on you Aes Sedai, Gaidin'
Elisende leaves south.
Reyne tells Draz 'Yeah... taking a small risk. I myself stole some family heirlooms to fund my escape from home though.
As you watch Skadi seems to melt into the background, vanishing.
Reyne says 'Hm.'
Aishling says 'Wow..'
Marshall says 'well then'
Aishling chuckles politely.
Marshall drinks heavily.
Leria says 'I apologize for the interruption and begin so late to t he party.'
Reyne says 'I was speaking with her for a bit before you all joined us. I think it's a good risk to
take, though.'
Reyne says 'We'll see.'
OOC but made me laugh:
Draz tells Reyne 'is this a coding thing? as a runaway? if shes back to fledgling she should be able to rent..'
Reyne tells Draz ‘(Elysia took her clan flag away so she couldn't prac clanned weaves)'
Draz tells Reyne 'well, thank chortlesnorfling christ for Ely thinking outside the box.'
