Backstab Damage Information
Backstab Damage Information
Hello,
This is mostly data that is instantly available on the equipment spreadsheet. Also some quick work I did on anydice.com to grab the "at least" data for each roll for 280 (max channeler HP) and 200 (half of what feels like the current non-channeler average).
I shan't make any recommendations, just providing the data to make an informed decision easier. Only given ob/pb/weight of 1hs as I dislike sai, and I believe anyone would use dirks if they had them, pracs too good.
All damages are assuming a honed weapon (this is the 2d60) and 99 backstab practiced. I will also add additional data on postured stab shortly. This is an additional 2d75.

Re: Backstab Damage Information
I assume the "chance to backstab for XXX" assumes a successful land and excludes bricks.
Does anyone have any testing on success rates for stabs? I assume that is more complex calculation. Has that been tested before?

That's Hress' testing on land rates.
My post only talks about damage. I don't have the patience to test land rates in a variety of conditions.

Master effect is huge for channie stabbers!Angkar wrote: Chance to backstab for 280: 8.81%

Chance to backstab for 280 with postures: 75.46%
I mean, I knew it was, but seeing the numbers really drives the point home.
Re: Backstab Damage Information
Man that really highlights the effect of master damage on blick rate. With the more defensive blades (jade/steel sai) a master is 27.5 times more likely to blick a max HP FC. But even with the cc dagger's high base damage a master is still 4.4x more likely to blick.
Re: Backstab Damage Information
I think master damage is 2d75
Re: Backstab Damage Information
Also I have no proof of this!
Re: Backstab Damage Information
Master melee damage is 2d5, for stab add 2d45, charge 3d46 and 2d5 for throw(added after cap).

Re: Backstab Damage Information
Having reviewed the rest of the data, this may be correct. Damage is xd (where x is amount, d is die) y*15(where y is damage roll). Same applies to hone going off of Hress's data (2d4 becomes 2d60). So it would follow that 2d5 becomes 2d75, and not 4d45.Fermin wrote:I think master damage is 2d75
Re: Backstab Damage Information
raolin taught me a long long time ago, not to stab healthy people. You kill more people that way with the backstab he was right!
