Among the Splintered Briars
Tangled knots of chokevine and blackthorn are trampled into the banks of
the stream that trickles through the base of the valley. Tiny white flowers
litter the muddy ground, chopped and churned by the hooves of the creatures
that drink from the brook. The water meanders to the west, tumbling over
stones of all shapes and hue. Moss covered rocks protrude rudely from the
center of the stream, beckoning the feet of the unwary.
