General insight for longblades 2017
Posted: Mon Jul 17, 2017 9:50 pm
I went ahead and started testing the long blades of 2017. Testing was done on a 19 str, non-master warrior, wimpy, 99% long blades, dismounted, all swords honed and freshly mended. I carefully considered regen ticks as best I could but not perfectly. Damage is based on 50 hits on a naked PC. This is a very simplified test case over a very small sample and does not consider hits to specific body parts. The testing took roughly 7 hours to script, test and put together results. For certain concerns, I've replaced all damage numbers with generic descriptors closely resembling the number (low, medium, high), in relation to the other weapons in the same bundle that I've tested. Send me a PM if you are interested in the real damage numbers from my testing.
2h Longblades Results
Synopsis
claymore for high ob, good dmg and good weight (well-balanced)
wicked for high ob and high dmg (heron being a direct upgrade over wicked)
gsword for high weight and good dmg (claymore being a substitute of weight for more ob)
heron for highest ob and highest dmg
colossal for highest weight only
jagged for high ob only
My Grouping/Rating
offense: heron > wicked > claymore
bash: colossal > gsword > claymore
balance: claymore
1h Longblades Results
My Grouping/Rating
offense: twisted
bash: brass
defense: pale steel
balance: ivory
That concludes my testing. There is no "best", the attributes of each weapon are very clearly separated for the most part, and preference is the only deciding factor of which blade you should choose! (Except jagged and broadsword. Don't even bother with those things)
