How is the order of commands interpreted in a door spam

Post by Paigey » Fri Mar 24, 2017 3:05 pm

I'm outside a door trying to get in - let's say I spam in the direction of the door.

Two people are inside and one is spamming open door/while the other is spamming shut door. They are both spamming as hard as they can.

How does the MUD interpret this event. I've heard variations of - it pertains to the order of when people signed on.

Just curious.

I've found after spamming a few seconds (20 commands), I would stop, then restart, to change the sync in which my command occurs compared to theirs. I believe it's worked for me. Same goes for attempting to flee from an opening/closing door, if you fail the first flee, wait a second, then re-enter the flee command to get out of sync with your door-spammer. This is also assuming there are two other individuals spamming the door open and close.

I tested this with a friend and the person who logged in more recently got command priority.

Talking to another friend, I was advised that if doored, it can be helpful to relog to gain command priority.

By all means, feel free to reproduce the test. Science is great that way and I'm curious to see other people's data. :)

The most recent log in makes sense, since I believe that's how it works when bashes land on the same pulse and such. Let's call it the addict penalty!

You can keep your addict spot, just disconnect your client and reconnect.

Addict spot saved and newest command order achieved!
