Anyone in Europe interested in an apprentice?

Post by Bards » Sat Mar 11, 2017 12:02 pm

Hi all,

I just recently started a re-read of the books which led me to the WoT subreddit, where I noticed a pretty recent post about WoTMUD. The post made me recall trying out this mud when I was first reading through the books, which was many many years ago. Unfortunately I don't recall much from that venture, except killing a lot of stags, elks and eating honey cakes... Anyway, I figured I would give it another shot, as I love the idea of this MUD. However, as I do not have any recent experience with MUDs, I quckly noticed that the threshold of entry is extremely high. Upon entering the world, I felt completely overwhelmed.

So I figured I'd ask here if anyone would be willing to show me the ropes, help me get started. If you're interested, shoot me a message!

Thanks in advance

Reading the pinned posts in "Help and Newbie Area" will give you a base to start from.
Then use chat to ask questions that arise, will normally be someone who can answer.
I suggest an Illian warrior to start. Easily get 19 xx xx 15+ 19.
Then give a shout and someone will give you a decent weapon, level up. (Dont forget a grouped chicken pet)
Safest place is probably Caemlyn, lots of low to mid mobs and some trees.

Will be someone on willing to help most of the time, dont be afraid to ask.

Hi Bards! Welcome. :)

Check there for some well-statted giveaways. You just don't get to pick your name.

I still encourage you to make a character and perhaps do pre-rolled stats even if you take a character someone else made.
I'd do this for the sole purpose of going through newbie chain:

Clive is the mob that teaches you things about the game, then sends you on to another place to learn more.
Those mobs, combined with player feedback to your questions on chats, will be a tremendous asset - especially if you use a mudding client and can keep a copy of the log to refer back to.

Clive can be found a few paces south of Caemlyn's south gate.

I'm on regularly during European time evenings. If you have a question, don't hesitate to send me a tell.

Am European as well, on most days, so feel free to send me a tell and I can help you out. I'm sure most people will be willing to, so type "who" and then send whoever a tell saying you are new, or once you reach level 2 you can chat/narrate and people will more than likely hit you up.

Thank you all for the good advice!

I got in touch of several very helpful people in game, to name a few; Curtis, Kush, Saif, Brocas and Hope.
I feel I'm on the right tack. Also managed to get a map, which helped immensely.

See you in game!
