Trying to start up, get the splash screen then this error....

chars: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset.

I got this yesterday. Did a reinstall and it worked. Today, getting the error again. Reinstall did not fix it. Ideas?

Try running as administrator. Does that to me a lot too :p

Possible you are trying to open it too many times too

I occasionally get this error to. I just restart my PC and that cures the problem.

Doesn't ZMud use an (Micro$oft) Jet Database type (that can be accessed with Access or another RDBM system)?

Is it possible that a table has gotten corrupted and has been switched to a read-only or a "locked" mode - what does ZMud offer in the way of database verification/recovery commands?
