Can't connect?

Hey all!
Long time mudder and fan of fantasy, but i've only recently taken the time to start reading WoT (love it so far!)
Anyway, I can't seem to connect to the mud for the life of me. Does anyone know why I might be having issues?
The telnet extension doesn't launch.
CMUD comes up with a blank screen after a name and password popup window
MUDLET seems to get a quick connection then disconnect:
[ INFO ] - looking up the IP address of server:game.wotmud.org:2224 ...
[ INFO ] - The IP address of game.wotmud.org has been found. It is: 72.52.169.8
[ INFO ] - trying to connect to 72.52.169.8:2224 ...
[ INFO ] - A connection has been established successfully.
[ INFO ] -
[ INFO ] - Socket got disconnected. The remote host closed the connection
[ INFO ] - connection time: 00:00:00.597
[ INFO ] -
So i'm at a bit of a loss, and was really looking forward to joining this community
Any insight is appreciated.

Telnet has to be turned on in Windows 7 and 10.

Check this thread to see if anything in it helps:

But I am not sure about the CMUD problem etc. Can an Imm check and make sure his area didn't get caught up in some ban for another player years ago or something? I thought I remembered that being the case a long while ago when someone couldn't connect.

Did this ever get resolved? I'd hate to see us lose a player before they got to give the game a chance.

I haven't seen any bans for this person's IP or anything remotely close to it.
The IP trace suggests he was connected for 4 seconds.

I had the same problem, at roughly the same time. It went away about 5 minutes later or so. The server wouldn't ping during that time either, at least for CMUD. Didn't try mudlet.

Looks like the player was able to connect shortly after.
Maybe it was a case of trying to log onto an existing character, because they were able to create newbies just fine. Unfortunately, it looks as if they may not have returned.

The Mudlet messages are consistent with the Server taking exception to something and hanging up on you - and it was the Server that disconnected, not the User...

Note to self:
It looks like an indication that the login credentials are getting sent would not be amiss here, e.g.:
[ INFO ] - Sending character name.
[ INFO ] - Sending password.
{They only get sent if they have been entered in the "Profile"'s data}.

Thank you all for taking the time to look into this! You may all be happy to know that I was eventually able to connect without issue.
I had just assumed the server may have been experiencing a hiccup.
Nothing was altered on my end, and I was able to connect at a later time, and continue to do so now as well. Looking forward to getting to know you all! So thank you again

When you start playing ds, if ever, just remember that Rig is totally the best ever.
