So I was curious to look at future stuff and how a point of int/rank up would affect pracs and what not... And I found something that seems incorrect.

At 18 INT rank 7: Level Required: 44 ---- Pracs Required: 253 ---- Pracs Saved: 7

At 18 INT rank 8: Level Required: 46 ---- Pracs Required: 257 ---- Pracs Saved: 5

Rank 8 IS better if INT is 17, however at INT 18 rank 8 seems to make things cost more?

I'll have to double check, but after working with this for the past month or so, I would not be surprised at all if what you described is true (meaning I dont necessarily believe it's a bug in the trainer, it's just how the mud works). I found that in certain cases it would be a nerf to gain 1 rank, depending on the weaves practiced and the percentage breakpoints.

Ultimately, overall, higher rank, higher intelligence, higher elements is going to be best, but there are edge cases where that is not always true.

Some percentages might need to be adjusted. The rank bonuses can slightly affect where the % prac runs fall, and where at rank 7 you might have landed on a 87% - 90% - 93% run, by getting the next rank, it could land on the 91% run, which would actually cost more pracs.

I ran into that when I was messing with some pracs before/after ranking and had to make some adjustments. Ended up still coming out ahead by changing some other weaves, but it took a little work to get it right.

Yes, this explanation is correct.

Im not sure that is what is happening here... as I toggle between the two it looks like the issue is... Armor, Gate, Fireball and Ice Spikes. The desired % and predictions stay the same, but costs more to get there.

18 INT Rank 7
Armor - Goal 92 - prediction 93% 9 pracs
Gate - Goal 95 - prediction 95% 15 pracs
Fireball - Goal 95 - prediction 95% 11 pracs
Ice Spikes - Goal 95 - prediction 95% 11 pracs

18 INT Rank 8
Armor - Goal 92 - prediction 93% 10 pracs +1 prac
Gate - Goal 95 - prediction 95% 16 pracs +1 prac
Fireball - Goal 95 - prediction 95% 13 pracs +2 pracs
Ice Spikes - Goal 95 - prediction 95% 13 pracs +2 pracs

It is.

For 18 int rank 7, with the prac commands this trainer spits out, the percentages for ice spikes go like
20-40-55-66-73-80-87-90-93-94-95

For 18 int rank 8, the percentages go like
21-36-51-62-69-76-83-86-89-92-93-94-95

The rank bonus means you hit the cutoff for 1% per prac at a lower percentage. Looks like the r7 tree is nice because it hits some prac rate % cutoffs at 20%/40% exactly.

So... this is actionable in that... when I rank 8 I was planning to up my int to 18... but based on this... I am actually hurting myself weave wise?

This feels wrong, but if its how it works...I guess I am really glad this new trainer exists.

it's very subjective based on the weaves you practice and at what %s etc. Ranking up will not always be a negative obviously, just in this particular circumstance it played out that way, just a bit. I will admit it does seem a bit odd.
