Auto commands after char creation

Can listen all be added to the default commands when you make a new char for all sides? Newbies might not know to turn em on to hear chats.

Mmm, are you sure this is a good idea? Way back then I asked players about a top 3 of help issues and the chats being on or off was also discussed. People generally felt that having chats on would be too spammy and sooner be a hindrance than a benefit.

I could see that being a problem a few years ago, but we should at least auto turn on Chats, so any new people know what our sidewide channel is when they need to ask for help.

Actually, if not make it a default turn on, have the welcome message mention it IN BIG LETTERS what chat and narrate are for. (Unless it does already and I forgot?)

If I'm not mistaken, we had far more people on mud then now. I don't think it would hurt to have chats on by default for new players at least until we have more people playing wotmud then we can have it off by default to keep it from getting spammy.

I also agree with Mantorok and Rixie. It will help newer players out a lot, in case they make the mistake of not turning on the chats and asking for help, then them not seeing that they are being answered.

Chats on. I saw a message about a newcomer in the eye in chat and saw a lot of people spam chat saying "let us know if you need help," etc.

Having it notify and them not be able to receive on the same channel seems self-contradictory. Plus the chat channel isn't that spammy generally.
