Zone Names

Post by Octavio » Sun Sep 09, 2018 3:30 pm

In this post ( http://forums.wotmud.info/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8608 ) Elysia talks about zone names and where they are / should be. Hobrion is a name I have not seen before and I was wondering if there is a way to search / know what the zone names are? Is there a listing anywhere?

That's not really the zone name though, just the ones I used to make them easy to identify by location they're actually in vs location they are on the grid map.

Something like Winding Road zone is not officially called Winding Road zone but something entirely non-descript. Easier for admin purposes to actually use the name you'd use for the zone, a landmark etc.

It used to be a thing when you used locate it'd tell you what zone it was in, they had different names for all kinds of stuff. that was a neat thing way back when!

Thanks. I am using Tazar's map and he had a lot of the names you mentioned as zones. That is where I came up with the zone names for the graphical map I created. When you used Hobrion I was lost :p Thanks for the explanation.

Hobrion would equal North Misty Mountains on the Wiki.

kill something in that zone and scalp it. it'll say what zone it was killed in when you look in inventory or at the scalp

Scalp info is more of a regional thing, dependant on zone location on the grid and does not relate to zone names.
