I am trying to connect while on my school's network, and some of the time I can connect and stay connected for quit a while. But ofttimes it will connect to the host game and pull up the log in screen, then after i have input my char name and passphrase nothing will happen, or at least i wont see anything happen. after about 20 seconds it will say that I have been disconnected and will pull up the log in screen again. If i am lucky enough to get in game I will usually start in the COL/COD. No idea how to fix this, or even if i can fix this.

It most likely isn't something you will be able to fix on your end. You can try and use a VPN to get around the schools network but I would advise checking if they are ok with you doing that. Maybe look at the terms of use of your school network and see if it mentions anything about that.
I know I need to change a bunch of firewall rules so I am able to play from school networks, but then again they are my networks so its fine
