best ABS Hunter homeland for LS?

Post by Mantorok » Mon Jun 20, 2016 11:24 pm

I was looking down the Homelands info to see what looked interesting, and I realized that even knowing the caps I have no idea -what- homeland will produce what for hunters. My safe bet is anything with lower mental caps will be best for the physicals, but I cant think of any homeland that has every rolled me a abs hunter (specifically 19 in Str/Con).

Does anyone have reliable info on which gives best odds?

Duh. Two Rivers! What a thing for an Eagle to not know :P http://wotmud.wikia.com/wiki/Homeland

People only stat them from borderlands for a chance at high dex too, since TR has a 17 dex cap, if you want pure abs though don't stat from anywhere else imo

I didn't see a single 19 19 when I tried a TR hunter. :P

From my experience 2r is the answer as chav said.

But that being said, almost all of the borderlands can get 19 19, maybe all of them.

Ive had good luck with arafel.

I did a thousand from a few of the Borderlands without seeing a 19 19 abser. Two Rivers looks okaaaay, but seeing lots of 11 - 13 in str/cons.

All testing so far seems to indicate that the borderlands homelands are either identical or so close as to be practically so. 19 x 19 hunters can be gotten from all of them, but my past testing indicates that the base roll for each stat is probably either a 4d3+z (bad enough) or an 8d2+z (really bad), with a fairly high percent chance for a constant rolled instead (hence why you get so many 16 12 12 15 15 hunters, to an even greater degree than the pure xdy combos would indicate).

As has been spoken of in another post recently, for a given range of x to xy, as x increases the variance decreases. Borderlands stat rolls are pretty tightly clustered around their means, so it takes a long time to get those 19's.

This is a balance for the borderlands-style homelands having arguably the best potential for hunters...and channelers.

That's what I assumed too, and we discussed that. Any idea on ABS homelands though Thuv? I know the rolls for Seanchan and Trollocs, but none of the human ones seem to hit the mark.

I only really tested borderlands and its clones myself when I did it. I've got more than one 19 x 19 borderlands hunter, so it's certainly possible, just takes time. It depends on what you want, to some degree. If you have to have 19 x 19, then the Two Rivers is your only other choice, as others in this thread have noted.

If you're willing to relax that condition, then some other homelands seem to have interesting rolls. If you have easy access to Str teas or plan to hang out with channelers, you might consider 18 str, which might open up Amadicia as an option.
