Head of the Trail
This is the end of a small animal trail. To the south the trail continues.
To the east and west the pines block passage, while to the north you might
be able to fit through the trees. You can hear the sounds of squirrels and
other animals in the distance.

To the west there is a path that runs north and west. From here you can see
the massive pines all around you. The pines give way to thick briars to the
north. A narrow break in the briars reveals a rocky ridge beyond. To the south
there is a small break in the trees just wide enough to pass through.

Dark forest rising above the sloppy quagmire of mud and rotting leaves

hidden barrier where briars and rotting leaves form an intangible mess as
natures no trespassing sign. The ridge cuts its way westward, and a break
in the briars offers a narrow passage to the south ignoring natures
intentions.

A Rise into the Shroud
The quagmire of leaves, pine needles, and runoff from the local streams
collects at the base of the rise. The slight incline of the hill leads from
the near quicksand below up into the dark forest to the east and south. The
forest held under a cloud of forgotten time, neither the weather nor sun

dead branches.

Through a Small Passage in the Forest
The ancient forest upon which a cloud of oppressive darkness hangs seems to
constrict upon the path as it breaks through heading east. The darkness
that shrouds the forest makes every sound die more then a few spans away
yet within those spans its echoes resemble a terrified spirit wailing its
lament. Westward this struggling path joins another at the top of a slight
incline.

o HP:Battered MV:Haggard > The Constricting Pathway
The forest nearly engulfs this small time etched path into nothingness. A
darkness spreads so thickly that inches away things become insubstantial
shapes. At close inspection, tree trunks that would take a dozen men to
encircle stand like pillars meant to support the heavens while the ground
with its intertwining roots spreading under and over a thick layer of
decaying leaves and pine needles seem meant to hold the earth together.

A Struggling Hillside
The ancient forest masked in darkness that hangs like a shroud over nearly

thin winding path runs from the west to the base of the slope before
turning south to work it's way uphill through scattered roots and gray

Here the road appears more whole, ruts and tracks beating down the
encroaching grass. A small gathering of trees is to the east, and to the
