Knew there was something strange about this place but forgot what it was, thought it had something to do with a light? But I wasn't using a light :p

Base of the Dark Spire
A large spire of black stone rises from below the cavern floor and nearly
touches the cavern's ceiling. The stone pulses with a life of its own
seemingly as it emanates brief flashes of a faint light. The top of the
spire is shrouded in shadow.

Top of the Dark Spire
Standing on the top of the spire you feel an odd stirring in your being.
The feeling isn't natural, yet not altogether unpleasant. The flashes of
light appear a bit brighter and more frequent here than at the base. A
feeling of wanting to plunge to the cavern's floor tickles your mind. You
can watch out over the surrounding area from here.

Top of the Dark Spire
Standing on the top of the spire you feel an odd stirring in your being.
The feeling isn't natural, yet not altogether unpleasant. The flashes of
light appear a bit brighter and more frequent here than at the base. A
feeling of wanting to plunge to the cavern's floor tickles your mind. You
can watch out over the surrounding area from here.
