ppl were telling me this for years and i didn't get it. you just die WAY less in combo/dodge. and you generally die to very specific player setups and players (not every single mob aggro and pc aggro including fc in stedding flee hitting you with a walking staff, not to mention projectiles and the list goes on).

With 8 ls and 2-3 ss, that channeling mob was the only thing keeping pk around.
