U say nothng about flee stab and this thing

They melee you same pulse but lower in order and the stab doesn't cancel so if they miss bash they die right there

Its funny though - when you write the above. Obviously several are obnoxious and I wrote them somewhat comically. Overall they are meant to make the class overall more difficult to succeed on but they really don't address blicking at all except removing the sitting multiplier.

I think the only way they ever figure out stab damage is either capping it or inventing a separate stab and melee damage dice ie. 4d5 when melee but 3d6 when stabbing.
I have by no means fully thought through the implications of all of these, but I thought they were really interesting to consider. Some thoughts I had a few of the items:

2. If we went this route, would it make sense to also add this penalty to bash timers? Could give a little benefit of being abs bash vs combo bash. What about adding it to all timers?
4. My initial thought was that if it makes sense for charge, it makes sense for stab, but then I remembered that charge gives an indication of the timer length in the charge message (lines up vs struggles or something like that). This wouldn't be possible for stab, but I'm not sure it matters. It would just mean that rogues would have to be more sneaky and skilled. Extra care to avoid being detected and engaged. Once detected it may require sneaking off to reset. When in stab war with other rogues you'd have to be more aware of whether they've had to flee or not, when tics happen etc. Lots to consider I guess, but an interesting thought.
5. How did this end up being a penalty for bash but not stab/charge as well? It seems to me that it should be consistent. Would help for stab scripts and rogues sitting in rooms trying to run stabs while other people fight.
6. There are already things in place that make it more difficult to hide in some rooms (roads) and not possible in others (no hide). I think I'd prefer #5.
7. I'm not certain what you mean by crossover here and I think that is due to my lack of experience with ranger sneak and a really terrible memory. It made me wonder what it would be like if the two skills were just combined to help make rogues more sneaky to help off set some of the nerfs suggested. I'd probably want to see some kind of reduction in melee damage in return for being made harder to kill though.

I also went down the rabbit hole a bit with Codpiece's suggestion above on retooling notice. I kinda like the idea of removing the mvs cost from having notice on, but also removing the stab land protection. As things are (assuming the target isn't a newbie or afk), your sneak needs to be successful, your hide needs to be successful, and the target can't notice you, leave, or be engaged for the length of the timer. With all those things having to go right already, I feel like the the landing should be pretty much guaranteed. BUT I don't think this can be done without addressing stab damage as it is. This could potentially open the door to other ideas like a slight stab landing protection boost as a clan or rank bonus. Or moving the stab landing protection from notice to a separate skill that has to be practiced.

I mean, the majority of the active players who have fades/WBs/warders (and most suck on them) are all playing their rogues or re-praccing their alts to stab. When they run out of gear, they switch to stab or play their stab alts. It's literally a 0 skill high success wiz kill. Look at this thread. Its chortlesnorfling stupid. A blick should be the rarest form of a kill and yet we have 160 pages of it. All of Eol's ideas are completely appropriate and should be implemented immediately. How is spamming bash taking mvs but not stab? How can you have 19 con and do 350 hp damage. Class has been broken and remains broken. The overall presence of rogues also makes for dung PK. Literally the only benefit of stab is seeing the logs of Razhak missing bashes and getting blicked...and I don't even mind Razhak!!

what about wotmud is skilled pk anyway? and who ever said skilled pk is rewarding on this game? skill is at best rewarding for you - personally - as an experience on a game because you get to push yourself, do more things. does not mean you will win or anything as should be obviouus for even players like rig and jestin and you who die ALL the time despite your skillz to typical wotmud things.

people showing up when someone is crit, flee stab, stab wars, vast disaprities in numbers/bonuses/link/expeience, people suiciding due to boredom, people boring people so they suicide, etc etc the list of what is typical of wotmud pk is endless.

here's an example that just happened - i'd argue i showed more skill than jestin because i got weaves off and he re-entered into a weave, while he had basher and rogue as assist for his timing and long weave damage. this is again typical of wotmud pk. guess who won.

not saying this is reflective of jestin pk. the same could have been the case had warder been on, some other LS int he pk, i get warder drain etc etc, again typical of wotmud pk.

He wasn’t even targeting you in the first portion of that log he was finishing a spike on Atkins. And after that you got one weave off because he was chasing while crit and over chased a room while he walked back into your flamestrike. I don’t see any skill but I’ll say props for staying out and pking.

Would have been a pretty epic kill if you got me there :) I think it half ticked in between otherwise you would have. Wasn't expecting you to go for the kill 1 on 4 even if I was crit so props!
