where I show you once again how to get lost with autotrack
nothing impressive in the log, but since no one is posting Ill post this

These plains are featureless, grey tundra. It is covered by a short, black
grass that smells of vinegar when broken. A few dead trees are scattered
about, homes of countless maggots and insects. They are black, coccooned in
a clear slime. A fence runs across the tundra to the north, behind which is
a grey barn.

These plains are covered in grey dust, but here it looks scored with flame,
darkened patterns crisscrossing the area. They all draw a line either straight
towards the center of Thakan'dar or perpendicular to the lines that do. What
did this is not evident. Where the land is scorched the dust has fused into
thin sheets of stone, painful to touch.

Here gray dust covers the entire landscape, except for four huge black rocks
standing in a solemn square. The rocky spires are completely square, looking
like ancient towers. They are made of solid rock, though, and is marked on the
inner side with runes drawn in something that now looks like old rust.

These gray plains are the gray of rock, hard and unforgiving. There is no
kindness here, nor compassion, only the cold, the hurt, and the emptiness. The
ground is mostly rock and gravel, sharp and cutting. A fall here would earn you
many wounds, and little comfort would be offered by the land or its few
inhabitants, or those few alive, that is.

in this wasteland. It looks like nothing will ever grow here, and the
numerous bones sticking out of the ground are testimony that nothing will
ever live here.

Dusty Plains
Here the plains are beyond dryness. They are not hot, simply completely devoid
of humidity. The ground, beaten upon by the winds, the occasional blast, and
the taint of the Dark One, has surrendered and been sundered, and is closer to
a desert than to plains. The dust on the ground forms intricate patterns,
hinting at some name or an ancient, evil prophecy.

This is the area of the lost. There is no shelter, no sanctuary. The broken
earth shows that here, in this place, nothing endures exept for brutality and
pain. Jagged edges crown the scattered pits here, and towards the north they
become deeper and deeper. In the bottom of some there seems to be holes going
down into nothingness, or to some hellish furnace just beyond sight.

Here the Blight opens right upon the very edge of the Mountains of Dhoom. The
mountain range dwarfs you, and covers the sky as far as you can see along the
horizon. The smallest of the peaks rise in front of you, but the base of the
mountains are completely unclimbable.

This orchard reeks of the blighted land to the east, and is laden with
thorny brambles and dying trees. The grass is unusually high and sharp,
with some nettles spread out in it. To the west there seems to be a couple

This part of the path is in even worse condition than the road continuing
to the east and west. A small stream crossing the path cuts it in two. The
faint animal tracks in the soft soil suggests that this could be a popular

The animal path splits in four ways here, north, east, west and south. To
the north the deep forest continues as far as the eye can reach. To the

From here, the sides of the gap loom menacingly over you, and a chill wind
channels through the mountains from the north. A smell hangs in the air,
torro and over-ripe. You can watch all the way north from here, seeing over

To either side the tall walls of Tarwin's Gap loom overhead, with the pitch

through the hills. The cold mountain wind slices through the pass, having in
effect been funneled by the mountains.

The road plods on to the south towards a large hill and bends to the north
to avoid a sharp incline. A dark forest shadows the road to the east. The
forest once extended into these rolling hills, but large fires seem to have
cleared the area leaving only small saplings struggling to survive. It
would not take much more than a smouldering cinder to set off a massive
forest fire in the surrounding area.

Settled in a smally valley the trees, though stunted in growth, have found

Off the beaten path, this dusty depression provides some protection from
the hot winds of the Blight and the small sandstorms that sprout up from
time to time. Small scrub bushes surround the depression providing a
barrier of sorts. During times of high rainfall this sunken land forms
pools of water providing sustenance to the surrounding vegetation.

Once a watchtower for the southern part for the road to Fal Dara and
Tarwin's Gap, this building is now hardly servicable. Whole parts of the
tower have been torn down, making it virtually undefendable. The inside
parts of the tower seem to have been set afire, as the stones facing in are
covered with old soot and burn markings.
