Had run TV - switched zones a couple rooms before this and had a stacked where as I kept walking n - did not know the DS were there, though knew they had been North of Fal Dara

The entire road is covered by piles of stones and debris. Most of it is
scattered randomly but in some places bricks lay neatly piled. It seems
that nearby inhabitants must have taken some of these stones as building
blocks for their own use. Cart tracks leave east and south along the road.

Glad you posted this unlike the other guy that keeps getting Slowed every time he plays against another Dreadlord. The peer was me learning that cider don't work. Absolute garbage and zero counterplay other than relying on your opponent to not be able to track or chase-- but did inform some feedback, so hopefully the crucial thing (being able to hold the weave) changes and fast.

Out of curiosity, do you have level 7 survival? Was surprised you personally hagged after mounting in road rooms.

This isn't even an issue of big numbers (3 v 1 isn't what I would personally consider big numbers) and he wasn't really "losing" before it happened, but basically anyone who can track you down and kill you within the 4+ ticks Slow's being held. But to your general point, stuff like this that only works extremely effectively when you're using it with the upperhand is bad design.

Right -- that's what I'm getting at, if it just completely negates or cuts into the Level 7 survival bonus of not losing moves while you're riding through certain (most) room types, that is a big deal. But Draz is a 1h dodge warrior here, so I'm not sure he could afford Level 7 survival.

My understanding is that it double MV costs to move from the room, to a minimum of 1 MV, even if you are mounted - even if you have Survival level 7. However, it does not stop natural MV recovery.

You see that as soon as he dismounted and tried to run, his MVs plummeted. And even with the new horse, he wasn't able to move because of the minimum cost of 1 to leave the room while mounted.

Slow has an SP cost of 25, and is not easy to land on someone similar level so it will probably take 2-3 attempts usually. But once you do, it seems like it can be devastating. The best counterplay I can think of so far is to always stay mounted, flee and move several rooms, and try to hold out time for help or for the channeler to run out of SPs. The problem being that if they hold the flows, and land it on their first time and from a full SP pool, they could hold it for upward of ~12 ticks even without an angreal.

I am not sure how it affects Trollocs.

I think the best counterplay is to move a few rooms at a time while building up your fleelag until you have enough moves to run straight to a city. Unless you have numbers waiting to help you out it doesn't seem like there is counterplay. The right move here was conserve moves until you could make it into Tar Valon and then rent. With the new overchannel chages I don't actually think that the spell pool matters much, especially if you're primarily using the weave to take advantage of an individual.

If you incin yourself that is unfortunate, but you can try again the next time the same person tries to show up and play the game that you want to kill. Just watch your tic timer and give gear to a friend if you incin, in this zone you can run fast enough to drown and avoid the wait timer.

Think the counterplay to this depends on the situation that you are in when it is used on you. For example, in this log Draz starts at full moves (with a base of 205) and healthy. Because his opponents can use track there looks like there is counterplay, but, if the movement costs are doubled that is kind of insane. If Draz starts batt or beat and low moves it's a much sillier log.

Draz being hungry for a tick sucks, but even if he regens some mvs there, Axxye lands 4 fireballs at the end of log to kill him. Riding a warhorse, hopefully with 7 survival and ride, it was only a matter of time before he died as long as one person on the other side could type track horse.

A troll with level 7 survival has a base range of 29.5 moves per tick. The cost being 2 mvs per room on average and the regen being 59. Meaning at a doubled cost the trolloc now can move 15 rooms per tick. If you slow a trolloc who is haggard they have 15 rooms to survive until the next tick.

I bet a human would be getting around 4-6 rooms per tick. Draz goes from 14 moves to 33 moves. That's 19 moves. On average at level 7 survival that's going to add up to 4 moves per room. That's 4 rooms. If the mv cost of going to the next room puts you at 1 mv or 0 room it will tell you are exhausted.

Yeah, there's an awful lot of consideration for what the SP pool might look like when the weave lands compared to what an MV pool of an active pker more than likely looks like when it does land. One you certainly have way more control over unless you just opt to stand still in one room to stay at full moves in case somebody decides to walk in and slow you.

Speaking of opt-in, you can't create mechanisms that have this much opt-in latitude for effective use with devastating results (simply opt-in to use it when you have high sps, more numbers, good chaser, fighting someone in zones that are friendly to you) and be upset that people simply opt out of even the chance of fighting stuff like this when all those opt-in conditions are starting to get checked off, whether actually ever used or not. It's got all the hallmarks of an uninteresting win-more mechanism/skill.

I don't think Draz or anyone should be punished to this extent for trying to fight 3 (or more) v 1 via something that works like this. You deal with enough trying to fight that and (within a certain limit determined by overall balance considerations) things that discourages the potential of people trying to make stands against numbers is just bad.
