Road to Tarwin's Gap
The road works through the hills, leading north into Tarwin's Gap and south
into the Borderlands. The Gap can be seen as a massive cleft in the black
snow-covered peaks clawing into the sky. The cold mountain wind whips through
the Gap, carrying the stench of the Blight with it.

In a Hidden Passage
This passageway is obscured from the road by the thick scrub and shrubbery
lining the road to Tarwin's Gap. Constructed of sturdy planks of wood, this
hidden building seems able to withstand the roughest weather. The thick
walls prevent any sound of the outside from drifting in.

more of the danger of not spamming hard enough -- every single time Dredge entered his room, Ted got the free hit to start combat, and every time he entered Dredge's room, Ted got a free hit again.
Those really add up over the course of 10 flees.
I'm guessing Dredge was trying to find the kno'mon fade patty at south gap...when it was north gap (bad luck there, Dredge!), and then it was a bit too late to try to force past north, which just added to the free hits that Ted got on him while spamming.

Yeah, I don't think the problem was lack of autowimpy. In a 1v1 situation, there's rarely situations where you need to force a choke. If you're consistently getting beat to chokes, set yourself up at a nearby room with a convenient dline and wait to get hit. Particularly when the person chasing you is a warrior. Along the way (wound vs. beat), shivs would have been a good stopping point to whittle down chaser's hps and increase their flee lag, which makes it more dangerous for them to flee hit you once you're at stronger mobs.
Once Dredge fled into MT, the play was either to retreat further in, to pull Ted from the door, or roll a bash at passage, hope it lands, and hope that you flee w once he's bashed.
