Entrance to the Courtyard
It is now obvious just how run down this castle is. The walls surrounding
the castle have become piles of rubble in many places or are nearly
completely covered by large thorny vines. Most of the towers on the wall have
collapsed rendering them totally useless. The ceilings of both keeps have
also fallen in on themselves totally destroying the top level of each. To
the east are the twin keeps, and the courtyard continues in all directions.

you have a multibasher + 4 fcs + spammer, why try to get out instead of fighting?

really fed up of these big groups who daily show up just to farm tps and then leave if there's any possibility of risk, and if there's 1-2 trollocs then hang around for 2+ hours until people will hit them. am obviously annoyed but it sucks becasue it's a nice time for those who play at that time to actualy get some pk going but under the excuse of 'nothing is happening so we're doing cityheads' all that happens is this inane stuff on repeat, snuffing out any pk that might actually happen with sheer boredom and suicide.

sorry to post a negative comment and i don't mean this for anyoen personally but been seeing this for months now and seen people in our time zones quit or just start playing at a diff hour because of how silly and boring this is. meanwhile we have new sedai masters every other month just from this stuff who then basically go on to doing something else ultimately anyway - so who does this really benefit?

the few trollocs pking are treated like some kind of smob - wait till all channies are full, wvd everyone, that kind of stuff. and the second a remort or competent leaders log on the LS narr is 'time to leave'.

imms have their views, but i wish the players involved would spend 1 second thinking about just how much we end up really not wanting to play with or against each other ultimately.

I don't know how much water the "quiet activity time, nothing better to do" argument holds when it's routinely 6-10 vs. 2-4 (if there's any resistance at all). But Vampa's said this is how he wants it to work and right now, when you're clearing 80-100 TPs on any night where you check Playground and see 1-2 DSers on (good lucking getting that much on a daily basis via PK), there's not much incentive to actually try to PK or alt to create PK.

I can’t speak to all your points given I’m a relatively new and infrequent participant in these groups - but for this one, we were around for about an hour since the remorts came on, fighting between SG and RK.

This whole session had been on for a few hours already, and this log captures the tail end where a few of us had to leave, including me. I personally can respect when a leader makes decisions balancing the IRL needs of the group against the desire to engage both sides in PK, which I feel was expertly done in this instance given the length of time we stuck around - And indeed in most all instances that I’ve been in the group.

I can accept that context is important and that I didn’t provide much in this short snippet of expert escaping! (cough)

There's a whole bunch of things I'd change if I could magically snap my fingers
-massive downing of WVD
-someone said it beautifully elsewhere - everything has to be balanced around multibash so remove it
-remove all mob lead beyond baracks issued BUT realign PK zone mobs to take into account players won't be moving them AND allow clanned people to command the movement of specific patrols within cities. Mobs that can't be controlled could be adjusted/realigned without worry about what mob lead would contribute to.

That said - call me crazy, but darksides biggest issue is a decimation of their number base... If humans were looking at the numbers count and saw 15 trolls on they wouldn't be planning a run at keep...

Call me crazy, but despite having been on some pretty large DS who lists recently, I've never, ever seen DS who lists hit 15+ consistently. Numbers across the game are pretty decimated and 15 online for DS would be right in line with LS numbers, which seem to be between 15-25 (often including statters) with the odd forays into 30 during peak hours. I would say that outside of certain time zones, who lists are actually closer in numbers these days than in the past.

Also, the hours that a lot of these hits are happening (2-6 hours after boot) haven't exactly been traditionally peak hours. There's just more incentive and inclination to log on and get free TPs for more people who are available or willing to play those hours than there is to mount defenses.

My memory is broken - I have a semi-recent memory of what seemed like a happy time on darkside before the changes where I thought our numbers were good. That said - I feel like I saw your alts playing a lot around then too and if you say we didn't hit 15 we probably didn't.

I wish you'd shown the part where I walked back into a fireball. I learned a lot from that death with advice from Draz. At some point I think spamming flee would've yielded a better result compared to what I did there.

Seems like it will keep happening until the smob groups get smashed into the ground a few times. It creates a tricky situation where the best way to do that is to have a group on call, and then ping everyone to log on at the same time before anything can be done. That's not a fun dynamic for the mud.

Anyhow, in response to Eol: I'd be all for removing WvD. I'm posting on Ecthus because it's the alt that has the most benefit from multibash, but I think it's a good addition to the game still. There's fewer stalemates with a Warder in PK, and some inherent risk in using it. WvD removes a lot of that risk, especially combined with high parry. It's just too strong of a combination.

I'm confused as to why anyone thinks they have to mount a defense verses that many at all. Why not just rent and do something else? I mean no one stops you from making new characters and taking new Journeys on the game. Also if you keep buffing it so that lower numbers can make a defense that's well and good except for these people will just go to the other side and come at it from a different direction. Until that gets ridiculous.
