This went downhill quickly....

Was hanging out north of stocks/west of Chachin, not really expecting much to happen (but hoping) when Jaxon showed up.

It seemed to start fairly well for me but went downhill really quickly after I hit wounded. I'm thinking I shouldn't have played around with the lioness as long as I did - I was trying to get her on Jaxon but didn't do a good job of it, I'd love to know how else I could have done better, though.

A raven is visible flying high in the sky. ← and I run hill, I can’t fight with 50 hps when he’s still batt, that’s a bad idea. Jaxon chased to hill, but he can’t really hit inside a door with a fade patty, 1 bash and he might die so that was kind of the end of it. My backup also showed up for the smell that I had (Which turns out was just someone passing by) so Jaxon didn't really have any way to try and get me either.

Anyway, as I said I want to improve (I know spams aren't great here, I'm still trying to remember zones after being gone for so long) so let me know what you would do differently.

Thought you did fine for the most. Personally, here I would not have taken the bash (that too with an aggro on me - altho i guess easy to say in hindsight):

The whole point of usin the mob is to even up the hps and at this point you dont have much to burn, so I'd have re-entered so mob was buffing - then he flees to get on you, you flee try to bash him etc

Also jaxon is smelly and may have extra damage compared to you!

You did well. You’re improving all around from what I’ve seen. So is your pk IQ. By that I mean you have started to consider what you can and cannot do more. Such as when you need to pull back. How far you can push.

I have no advice for you other than continue to think. Being able to out think another player is the key. Jaxon has an edge over you currently. He’s more experienced, probably faster and more aggressive etc. But those could be things you use against him.

So a scenario, and I’ll use these players just because I’ve been fighting them a lot, but let’s say Jestin and Kryyg are coming after me. Both are better and faster than I am up north. They’ve spent 20 years pking there.

1. I know I need to consider where I am, how chokey it is, what mobs are close to me. I need to stay in areas that I have more control over my movement than what they can push me into. So I need to be able to set up dlines for instance if I’m trying to fight them alone. For example.

2. How fast are they chasing? How fast is Jestin weaving? Is Kryyg rolling bashes or focusing on the chase? (We all know the answers to these questions, they’ll be stupid aggressive haha. But just more examples of thinking)

3. How can I use that aggression against them? 9/10 times both players die not because they made a mistake but because they pushed too hard. Which is also why they are so successful. (Take notes there. Aggression is important for success. But it absolutely will bite you in the ass too. Even though it will bite you sometimes. Be aggressive.)

On and on. These are things that are important to consider when you’re first learning. That’s how you slowly improve. This is what separates an average pker from someone better imo. Eventually all of these kinds of things will just happen instantly the more experienced and comfortable you get.

You can have the greatest zone knowledge in the game. You can be the greatest basher or chaser or whatever. But if I can out think you. I can beat you. If I can get you to do what I want you to do, I just closed that gap in skill somewhat. It won’t work every time mind. Because they are also thinking. But it helps and will help you get better.

Great steps man. Keep it up.

*Edit* What I’m trying to help you see with this stuff is mentality. So many players are so quick to just give up. They think they don’t stand a chance so they stand down. The point is, never stand down. Take the death and learn from it if it comes to that. But constantly try to figure out how you can win.

Always go into pk thinking you will win. Do that and you’ll just keep getting better.

Big thing from this is training yourself out of changing mood brave all the time, it's hard to flee brave and when you're planing on fleeing needing to enter an extra command before doing so can be crippling.
You go to a good dline room here(smart sometimes when know opponent might be ahead of you) but go brave out of habit when you're specifically in the room to be able to flee it.

When you're spamming at friendly mobs often you'll want to hit them first as they enter(to stop them getting free hit on you) and then flee off and back into room letting mobs buff.
When someone is hitting you at mobs you need to understand their probable actions as well, they most likely have entered room hit kill target and bash.
You therefor know what their general bash timing will be and if it's worth continuing a bash yourself or fleeing out and re-entering room.
When you're low using mobs 1v1 you nearly always want to dline to try and re-enter the room(even if you pick wrong dline direction), you dont want to be caught by fleeing opponent 1 room away from mobs like you were here. 1v1 you will "stand" from any bash they land on you if they have to flee room off mobs so it's fine to re-enter room. Vs multiple it's different tradeoff/risk.

Don't carry limbs either, that'll knock off few points of ob and you need all you can get vs combo.
