Is there anything I could have done?

Post by Faendar » Fri Jun 11, 2021 9:12 pm

So firstly I think I shouldn't have hit where when I knew they were zone and we were going to hit, and I should have only hit kill light once, not twice, both those cost me small amounts of time.

Is there anything else I can do differently here? I don't see what else I could have done except not be there which I hate as an option.

Honestly my rule of thumb is against competent FC's you can just die if you have <200 hp's. Be wound. Be OK.

Edit:
I guess if you were a better player than me you'd check 'weather', calculate the 95th percentile damage from weave, and calculate the 95th percentile damage from 2 bashed hits from whatever the best weapon the pukes have is and then add some hp for 'running away crit headroom' and that'd tell you what number to leave PK at!!

Edit2theelectricboogaloo:
If you're a braver player than me you might choose 150; but in generally I'd really recommend picking a number against a fc with a basher and just not engaging if you're lower than that (obviously excepting exceptional circumstances like there being crit people you think you can kill). I certainly feel like I learnt to choose ~200hp the hard way.

Most other PK is pretty intuitive for whether you can stand being low beat or crit when you're in abs, like if they have 8 roaming around blight it's obvious that if your team loses a fight you're really likely to get picked off during regroup but you'll probably be fine to take a few rounds as long as there's face off. FC groups are built different though.

edit 17:
1 tick away from wound is the best place to be IMO because then they waste their weaves on you but you'll still be fine.

If you know you're being targeted and you're getting lowish on hps, but still want to venture a bash, set your autowimpy to something you'd feel comfortable with. Would likely have pulled you out of room before the second spike.
