I'll add this - I was hesitant to dline south because of the rooms I was in, do I just need to say screw it and hope I get a good flee?

In that situation its your only choice, just gotta roll the dice.

dont dline

just keep waiting for them to engage and instantly fleeing till you get to entrance to the camp site or hedge path
once u see those names u can see which way you should be dlining its a lot of rolls of the dice in a tight area in abs its gona be really rough

everyone else in your group seamed aware that you were about to loose and were ready to run for it and you seamed to get the message a bit late

raz stuck around a bit longer caus hes leading and will tend to flee last you could of also narrated that you were stuck and he would of probably come back to take a bit of the heat off you

situation awareness and judging the group you are fighting is the key but that comes with time

Not dlining is probably correct, but if you keep getting hit in the next room or your link is much worse than theirs, it might be your only hope.

Important to note here that of the people you're fighting, one is striking (Relena, FC) and three are piercing. In other words, none are bashers and the risk of dlining is lessened somewhat. You might run back into a weave though, which would definitely hurt.

I’ll usually try a dline direction if I have hps. Once it gets tight I’ll stop and wait for a room. You had a chance and you entered a wrong direction when you first got to entrance. Other places you get screwed are fleeing e/w of 2n FD. I usually dline a scan, see the direction and run the other way. I do have a decent link though.

It's a rough set of rooms, possibly the scariest ones to lose a fight in.

It will help a lot to memorise each room name. I know they're all extremely similar. But knowing whether you're 2n 2e 1n, or 1s campsite, is vital information.

Second big help is the situational awareness. Knowing you're now outnumbered/outgunned, you should expect the out call. At that point it's, "Where am I and where do I want to be".

Depending on your link and the links of the ones you're against, you can sometimes get away with dline and direction. Ie. the time where you're fleeing from 1s campsite, you could dline w and stack an "s" command afterwards, granted if you're fleetrapped it might not help much, but often if the chaser isn't too quick or isn't on an american link you will get your stacked command off before they enter and hit you, giving you a small breathing room and might get you to a better room instead of the bouncing back and forth. But yeah those rooms can be tough if flees are screwing you over, kind of similar to Culhook in blight, at some point it is time to hit the dline and hope your flee doesn't screw you.
