Went down to Lugard tracking a horse...

Road Encompassed by Grassland
The road follows a north-south route through the grassy plains. The tall
grasses reach almost waist-high, surrounding the road to the east and west
and almost obscuring it from view as it twists and turns. Withered flowers
grow just off the side of the road, struggling to survive.

On the Wide Plains Road
The road is wide enough to let two wagons pass each other comfortably. The
road takes a turn to the south, where it ventures deeper into grassland. To
the north and east the plains extend into the distance. Off in the distance
to the northwest, what appears to be a roof of a cabin can be seen. To the
east the road continues towards the gently rolling hills.

Bend in the Road
The road makes a turn to the west, where it makes its way through the
plains. To the north the road continues, leading towards the very northern
part of Altara. The grassland surrounds the road to the south and east. All
around, the golden grass sways gently in the light wind.

Broad Road Through the Plains
The wide swathe of hard packed road makes its way to the east and west
through the plains which are sparsely dotted with copses of trees. A tall
tree stands to the south, its bark burst open in places to reveal a
blackened interior. Its fallen limbs block the way. To the north, an
impenetrable sea of yellow grass stalks sways in the breeze.

The road continues to the the west and east, traversing the plains of green
and golden grass which conceal every sign of animal life. Small sounds are
the only indicator that life thrives in the area. A slab of stone lies next
to the road, bearing a huge pawprint of canine origin.

On this plains junction, a narrow path leads away from the road and
ventures north, while the merchant road continues on to the east and west.
The grass to the east and west has a beaten appearance. The grass off the
path to the north, however, looks as though it has not been trod upon in
some time. A light breeze causes the grass of the plains to sway gently.

A Narrow Path
A small, overgrown path comes into view here as the grass from the plains
begin to thin a little. All around, a tall, golden field of grass waves
gently in the breeze. Small weeds poke to the surface and follow the path
for a little way. The path continues to the north, and in the distance can
be seen the wide open plains of Altara.

The path bends slightly to the east, where the roof of a cabin sticks out
above the waving sea of grass. To the north, the plains extend for miles. A
small tree stands here next to the path, but offers no shade from the sun.
To the west, the way is blocked by thick, waist-high grass. To the south,
the path continues on into the wilds of Altara.

To the east can be seen a small path. The thin waving grass reaches knee-high
here and sways gently in the light wind. Small chirps of locusts and
grasshoppers are the only sounds of life. To the south, partially obscured by a
screen of tall grass, lies a small path. To the northeast, off in the distance,
a cabin rises out of the ground.

A Path to a Cabin
This small, overgrown path looks only to be traveled by the animals of the plains.
The grass on the path is not as thick as the grass of the plains to the west.
To the north, the path opens into a small yard outside a cabin. To the south,
the path extends into the distance, becoming lost in the swaying grassland.

Yellow and green grass covers this small yard. To the north, a small copse of
trees blocks the way. Near the cabin are a few shrubs, badly in need of water.
A broken old chair lies in a heap in the middle of the yard, next to a rusted
hoe. The half-buried skull of a small animal lies near the path. The overgrown
path leads into the cabin to the east, or back south.

An Abandoned Cabin
This hut appears to have no current resident, with the walls about to cave in,
and the roof sagging badly in the middle. Large vines have grown in through the
windows, and small patches of flowers have grown around an old, worn table. The
other furniture is in no better condition, and is coated with a thick layer of
dust. Small rodents have taken up residence in the mattress in the corner.

slightest breath. The dirt floor is moist and slimy, smelling of mildew.
