Taking my turn at guarding Galldrian su Riatin Rie, King of Cairhien usually only involves a few salutes and maybe a little work on a zMUD script, tonight was another story...

Anteroom to the Grand Hall
The vaulted ceiling of the anteroom gives it a feeling of openess. Huge
wooden doors, carved in the symbol of Cairhien, the rising sun, lead into
the massive throne room. There are several chairs along the walls, allowing
a place to sit and rest while awaiting an audience. A lush rug lines the
stone floor, and many lampstands illuminate the large room. The doors
leading into the rest of the palace are not as large, but also carved with
the rising sun.

Central Hall Outside the Throne Room
The hallway splits here, running both north and south to the palace
entrances, and east and west to the palace dining room and the chamber
before the throne room. Large doors, carved in the rising sun of Cairhien
lead into the anteroom and arches into the dining room beautifully set off
the craftsmenship of the palace. Many alcoves in the walls hold enough Sea
Folk porcelain to purchase several large farms.

vines. Situated off the northern gate into the palace, a hall runs south,

Northern Hallway of the Palace
The palace looms as the hallways run both east and west. To the east lies a
large foyer, one of the main entrances deeper into the Sun Palace. Large
windows look out on the city and the tall buildings contained therein. A
thick rug pads the floor and small alcoves on the walls hold rich treasures
belonging to the palace.

The high ceilinged hallways of the palace run to the east and west here,
leading off to the different wings of the palace. Tall, gilded lampstands
line the walls and stand ready to be lit should the light fail. Tapestries
hang heavily on the walls behind the stands, adding color to the drab
stone. Where no tapestries are seen, a small niche in the wall will hold a
priceless figurine or trinket.

A wide arched stone doorway, intricately carved leads into the stairwell
that goes up to the heights of the palace. Lamp stands illuminate the
stairwells and set off the alcoves holding priceless works that belong to
Cairhien. Tapestries depicting battle scenes from long ago hang on the
walls around the arched stone and a thick rug runs along the stone floor.

Coming up from the floor and leaving through the ceiling, an ornate
stairwell continues it journey between the floors of the palace. Large
tapestries hang on the walls covering the dullness of stone. Thick carpet

The wide hallway with tall ceiling seems out of place on a floor full of
bedrooms. A lush rug lines the floor, and colorful tapestries the walls.
Beautiful figurines sit in their carved alcoves in the wall and tall
windows provide a peek of the city from high above. Lamps on golden stands
are ready to provide extra light should it be needed.

The Palace Dining Room
The palace dining room is enormous, capable of holding up to four hundred
people at once. Four long tables with matching chairs, which are padded
with burgundy cushions, are beautifully carved in the rising sun, flowers
or vines. Vases, capable of holding large flower arrangements for special
dinners, are interspersed along each table. The stone-arched doorway into
the dining room has the rising sun engraved above it. Small carts line the
walls for holding jugs of wine or extra silver and glassware, allowing the
servants to respond quickly to anyone's needs.

The tall buildings cast long shadows that play along the walls. To the
east, a sign hangs from above the door of a well kept inn, the Bunch of
Grapes. Clean windows, and a steady stream of people into and out of the
inn tell of the substantial business that the inn does.

Among The City Streets
The cobblestone street narrows slightly as it breaks off from the main road
that leads to the city gate. A large manor house casts shadows along the
road. To the south, a beautiful, well-groomed garden lies nestles amongst
the houses and shops of the bustling city. Tall trees rise out of the
graden, towering over the short stone fence that spearates the graden from
the rest of the city.

This small corner of the park is perfect for quiet contemplation. A large
tree hangs over a small bench. The fence that surrounds the park keeps the
noise from the city outside. Small beds of flowers lay situated at right
angles to the tree. A gentle hum from insects, and the chirping of birds
give the park a peaceful air.

In The Park
A tall white fence blocks out most of the city that surrounds the quiet
park. An open gate sits off to the east, allowing those who want sanctuary
into the peace of the park. Square flower beds sit at precise angle to each
other and to the stone walkways that cut through the park grounds. Some
small benches sit at exact intervals between the trees of the garden.

long ramp leads up to the Sun Palace. The huge structure rises tall and

stores and homes line the streets that extend off the intersection at
sharp, right angles.

The Southern Ramp Into The Sun Palace
The Sun Palace looms to the north, casting shadows on surrounding
buildings. The ornate carvings and architecture can be clearly seen from
the street. The ramp winds its way up to the southern doors that lead into
the palace. Small flower beds line the ramp on either side, the flowers
planted to perfection in straight rows.

Without going into all the emotions surrounding the locking mechanisms of this door..

Why go berserk? Go wimpy, hope to dodge a bash while your mobs finish off those DS. Had you dodged 1-2 bashes, then you might have survived, especially if they get disengaged on you, especially when it was only Byrg who was engaged on you in the end according to the log.

Berserk helped you exactly nothing in this instance

his point isn't that you increase db is that you can then reengage or have some defense to hold out if youre only buffin 1 due to missed bashes on their part.

Guess I'm not sure what you thought to accomplish with the hit. Ya you might kill him but what then? As for the secret entrance... Seems totally fair to me. Why wouldn't there be a secret way into defend the throne room. I know of 1 more other thrones like this. See 0 problems with it. I remember back in the day on Tadr chips when DS etc was regularly farming Morgase I'd just slip in and die with my queen usually. Just good rp to go down defending.

The issue you have is more with the locking door, totally understandable. But at the same time, I don't dislike it. Thronerooms should never be a easy smash and grab. The duration of the locking needs changed for sure. Key loads on mobs or no? Can't remember.. it's a bummer but again. Not sure what you expected here...

Also there is generally not much reason to zerk in Dodge. I've been in this situation before and killed a whole group. It's a lot of dice rolls and luck. Disengage etc.
