Desolate Plains
The ground is pitted and stained, with small fissures running north
and south. The fissures seem to be the hiding places of many things shy of even
the meager light here, small pale maggots and small spiders. These plains are
scattered with calcified bushes, ancient and more dead than something that has
never been alive.

Rocky Hills
These hills are large, flattened mounds of earth. The earth here is not a
living brown, but a sickly, diseased grey. Boils of rot and fungi blotch
the otherwise uniform grey of this place, pervading this area with a weak,
sweet smell. Scattered across the hills are large rocks and boulders,
looking like they were spit out of the ground, too foul even for this
horrid ground.

An enormous blight worm towers above you, making an eerie shrill scream.

This hilly area consists of large, rocky hills. They are solid, comforting
things, much like a kindly giant. The illusion is further strengthened by
the few trees growing around a pool of water between two of the hills.
There are also tracks of creatures living here, seeking sustenence where
they may. Except for the waterhole these hills are barren, covered only
with a thick layer of moss.

Here the dark road turns to the east and to the south. Perfectly flat, paved
with large sheets of black stone, it cuts through a small hill as it turns to
the east. It has turned aside from a large, dark hill to the north, upon which
a black stone spire stands ominously. Iron spikes are driven into the earth,
upon which heads or bodies are impaled.

The dark road turns north and west here, following the edge of the hill to the
northwest of here. The road is paved with sheets of dark stone, smooth as if
thoroughly polished. The road runs through a flat, gray landscape, with small
mounds of earth scattered about.

The hills here are low, having suffered the entropy of ages. They are old,
worn, tired things, covered with a fine gray dust. At even the slightest breeze
the dust blows off the hills like gray shrouds blowing in the wind, reducing

having endured this place for ages.

A bearlike lump of rotten flesh lumbers around in here.
