I disagree strongly and am surprised you are being so cynical. I can only speak for myself, but I know my army of trolls have hit Suroth about 10 times since i've faded. I haven't taken the OCG once. Same can be said for the prism quest, the Santa Claws quest, etc. Any fade already wielding a rare will, or at least should, be giving the new rare to another deserving party. Trolls playing abs are likely sol. Most abs players are aware and okay with that. If nobody can use it, and the abs guy/gal has an alt that will actually play it, then they may get it. Easy peasy! Great system.Paj wrote:That particular ideology is that the most able to use it should use it, at the will of the senior DA involved. But after that, its whoever wants it.
I personally think it's a decent mindset alternate from LS and if you are for that then have fun on DS.
At that point however, the senior DS, likely a fade again, just takes it for spare because us fun loving trolls are abs and undeserving. Chits and rares flow this way too as extra and just goto the fade despite your participation or desire.
Fail!

Re: Fail!
If some of you actually played ds you would see how much more selfish LS seems. Almost 100% of all of ds are willing to give if its asked. Don't compare the majority of us to those people you dislike because they take dung. It's how ds works. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=100 < This should help explain everything you are all bitching about.

Re: Fail!
Eh, in my experience most fades are happy to give rares and uniques to trolls. What keeps me away from DS isn't splitting--it's the fact that most of the active players are completely risk-averse. It's only so fun to have to prove every time you log on that you can kill channies rather than 'boycott' them.
Re: Fail!
Different strokes different folks. I didn't voice the opinion because of dislike for DS in general or anyone in general. There's no one on this game that deserves my hate or dislike really. The mantra that you can just take without asking is all I dislike. Just a guy for fair splits is all ya dig. Far less common these days then in the past for sure though, this issue.
Re: Fail!
Nod, the "dont hate most of ds" comment was more of a just general thing. Not really intended for anyone. It's kinda shitty though yea. But honestly its not as bad as it was. It's just ds rp anyway. Imo most of those DS only people are the nicest people in the whole playerbase. Even though we all deal with Tempest being a dickhead. <3 Tempest.

Re: Fail!
The fade doesn't get it because he's a fade. But the fade is almost always LEADING. That's the difference between light side and dark side. The leader should always get the pick of the best gear. Some people agree with this and others don't.
I also don't understand this mentality of certain LS players who have been here for 10+ years. Fades are not that overpowered. Honestly, what bonus do I have that helps me kill you? I can ride a mount and so can you. I got a boost to my int/will which is probably lower than yours. I get berserk attack but so does every warrior. My pracs are probably on par with yours if not worse. All the other 'bonuses' are defensive. Horse sneak is OP, fade is useless, fear is random and just gets the last 3-4 pracs in it. All that said these bonuses were not granted to me they were earned. Anyone can become a fade.
Contrary to your belief, we don't do extra damage. We are the same as a light side master.
Warders and and channelers. These characters have mechanisms that no other character has or can even counter in many ways.

Re: Fail!
Well, sorta. You left out a few bonuses and dropped the context on a few others. Not going to sit on either side of the 'fades are OP' debate right now, just redo your list. Also - warders have multibash, it can be dealt with in a few ways as you're well aware. Sedai/Warder pairs as well are very strong with the bond and can be easier to kill because of the bond. Channelers are technically available on both LS/DS (DL being a long road to get), but the mechanisms they have (channeling) are very easily counterable, just enter a stedding or go to one of the nochannels (or get a few people on them to break defense). As much as they might be more LS-focused things, they're not quite the awful OP things you make them out to be. And I know you've got enough experience with both of those to know the weaknesses, which is why I wonder why you make them out to be strong and spend a paragraph downplaying fade bonuses.eviscerator wrote:The fade doesn't get it because he's a fade. Now then, the list:
You can ride a mount and so can we (but you get free horse gear, a mount that's immune to a few status effects and doesn't response to horse)
You get berserk attack like any LS warrior (but also have autotrack, which is what makes people play mostly hunters up north)
You get 1 1 1 pracs, meaning you can go just about any setup you like and have it be viable (no LS equivalent).
You get fade shirts and inkies, making combo (the best setup already) even more effective and making contagion/blind not work on you.
You get to lead every DS mob, which can be incredibly effective in PK (see any Lykan log)
You get to change targets while in combat, which is very powerful.
You get horse sneak, making chasing you much more difficult.
Fear is random, but incredibly effective when it does go off.
You get refresh, which no one with the classes you're trying to match (warrior/hunter) have access to, and makes your leading even better.
You get fun spells like darken to use every now and again.
And you get fade, which makes joining PK (and bringing a friend) much easier.
You've got the tracking of a hunter, the scariness of a warrior, the utility spells of a channeler, the pracs to do anything you want, and passive defenses to make killing you much harder. I'm not going to say you're OP, but your bonuses are very strong.
