I didn't happen to log on "coincidentally" to easy-mode a group doing Shaidar.
I see someone is mad!

This is what's important about the log. PK in wotmud isn't hackable.
It is about sportsmanship. A huge part of the game is bash timing and weave timing. It might not be against the rules but il be leaving if I see was adella show up.

Sure she might lose to a ponr weave from another channie. But going up against trollocs with HOA and icespikes she is going to be doing 99.9% of her max DMG output by just having a script running. It is easymode and automates one of the challenging aspects of the game.

Meanwhile the poor trolloc going against her is going to be actually trying to time their bashes properly.

I'd already lose against her with her being in full dodge. But knowing that I'm sitting there actively trying to time my bashes, and knowing that she is getting almost perfect DMG output by relying on a script. That means that I would just leave of adella showed up.

A bash script is also unsportsmanlike, but at least there is a dice roll at the end of it. They might best me 100% but they can miss the bash. The channie script is straight up DMG unless she fails the weave.

Also we don't know what her link is like. The better the link then the better the script.

Sure scripting sucks - takes the skill out of a very timing based game - but let's not pretend if it had not been a script the outcome would've been any different. Unless it's a new player or someone who is still working on their weave timing, they're going to string their weaves together. People are focusing on the wrong thing here, giving channelers a bashing weave is a few crumpets short of a tea party, remove HoA or change it drastically.

Sure, I rage pretty hard when I'm up against Equitant's bash script, or getting away from chase scripts in certain situations. But there are very, very few times that I think I've ripped because someone else was scripting, and those would all be from chase scripts. Otherwise, it still comes down to the thousands of other decisions that are being made in a PK session.

I get the sportsmanship thing, but to me it's more important how the person PKs as a whole. My bigger gripe is that with perfectly timed spikes and bash, the spikes will still go through if the bash lands.

Edit: Ragyn asked me to delay posting so he would get some credit for the response.

Sure if it is just a standing fight 1vs1 healthy to dead.

But adella is flying around at crit, and typing less than half the commands someone else would have to by letting the script do all the weaving for her.

By automating half the fight she can focus more on other things, like her hp, her opponents hp, people entering the room, whether to narrate OFF. She doesn't need to read or focus on the weave timing, she can trust her script to handle it.

I think you are underestimating a lot of the soft advantages that come from automating all that combat.

And if she was in a group fight, with a lot of spam noise. Her script is going to automatically weave against the target, and if they flee it will spam the weave for when they return.

It is a huge advantage over someone that needs to be focusing on timing by reading the weave messages in a lot of spam and recognising her opponents flees and re-enterings.

Aye could be I don't really get how the script works, to me it'd seem as if it would be more of a hindrance if everytime target x walks into room the weave starts rolling, but I guess with a script she probably has a neat trigger to turn it off and on at will. In any case I'm not saying scripts don't suck, just saying in this log I doubt the outcome would've been different.

Anyway where is Jestyyg to back me up that HoA blows - I'm sure if we say it enough immortals will change it! :)

Best part of this thread is razhak lecturing us about gray areas of gameplay.
