Someone explain this please?
Re: Someone explain this please?
Bash is the only offensive skill that even if successful does not guarantee a successfully outcome, especially against certain set ups. In an ideal world a landed bash should equal substantial damage (especially from a berserk warrior). Autowimpy seems a cheap way for dodgers to side line getting hurt upon when their opponent has manged to beat the odds and bash them. Alas coding :(
Re: Someone explain this please?
Think you lads need to play some dodge again, without the wimpy there is no point. A master/fade does 40-50? dmg with a heavy abs weapon, so without the wimpy no one would be pking in 100ish hps, since you're likely dead in a 2-3 frags, and if bash is a guaranteed 2 attack rounds(4 with zerk) there isn't much point to it. Zerk attack already negates autowimpy somwhat by giving you that extra attack, but you have to risk it by going berserk - usually not too much risk vs a dodger, at least not if you are a master, he'll likely flee before backup can show up, but there is always the chance of a couple missed bashes, buying whoever time to get another friend.

Re: Someone explain this please?
I pretty much only play abs on ds. Anyway you are posting about not hitting her on a post that is literally telling you that 0 round bashes means you can't hit her. If you see a 0 round bash, you should probably unzerk first because you will not hit her... as has been the point of this whole post :p Alternative is tell the stabby trolloc to stab her or the chargy fade/dl to charge her, if any are around pking with you. Another favorite of mine is to just bash horse instead of human, but obviously that only works if you are pking grouped with a couple others or if she 0 rounds into room with a patrol. Just a couple pointers what you can do if you see a zero round bash, that might have an impact. If you are solo, then just don't engage her, since you won't break her defense, and from your log you are crit and she is battered, I'm assuming you were sitting at mobs, seeing as 0 round bashes are usually only triggered by double autowimpy, ie something setting her wimpy off and your bash triggering her a 2nd time. Don't think I've ever seen a 0 round being triggered by just one bash/hit.

Re: Someone explain this please?
Seemed to me that Razhak's get out of jail free card was referring to 1 round bashes, and my point is that if you remove the potential for 1 round bashes - which is basically the use of autowimpy, dodge becomes close to useless in any form of outnumbered pk, most will just leave when they hit battered/wounded, depending on their total HPs because that is now their threshold for dying in a single bash. I agree that 0 round bashes are annoying, but don't think they are that hugely impactful tbh. and they are rare enough that I'd hardly call it "get out of jail free card".
No more 1-round bashes on dodgers,..
I want to freaking have 2 rounds of bashed damage when I risk staying in the room also.
Re: Someone explain this please?
This thread makes it sound like we're reliving the golden age of dodge circa 2002. Abs warriors have never been better.
Re: Someone explain this please?
It’s a light side bonus. Channies shouldn’t get it though.
Re: Someone explain this please?
Hasn't this been around forever? Why are we complaining now?
Re: Someone explain this please?
All trolling aside, because their flee out of the room coincided with your landed bash this is basically a PONR issue. For the frustrated bashers out there, I would think of it as a case where they fled out of the room right before your bash landed. You didn't actually bash them in your room. But you get the added bonus that they are frozen in the next room (for stabs, charges, hits, setting up blocks, etc). If anything I would think of this as a bonus of bash, not a flaw of bash.
The flip side are the PONR bashes that land when you're following someone and they chase the exact pulse that your bash lands. This really screws over dodgers because they fled out in time to avoid the bash, but then got chased and got "instant bashed" in the next room. This is really the yin to the yang of the case mentioned in this thread. In one case the basher feels screwed over, in one case the bashee feels screwed over. The PONR bashes in the next room are definitely much more catastrophic because they lead to deaths. At least with the bash-stunned in the next room scenario, the bashee is frozen and you can figure out ways to trap them with that extra time (stabs, charges, horse bash, setting up more blocks, weave them, etc). so it's not all bad for the basher in that situation. It's all bad for the bashee in the reverse situation :)
