few chickens are scratching around in the grass. A handcart has been placed
near a home that lies to the north, its spoked wheels painted a bright
green. A view through an alley between two thatched roofed homes reveals a
patch of grass used for sun bleaching several white sheets.

The Green is a broad expanse in the middle of the village, covered with
thick grass. A low stone outcropping sits on the western end of the Green,
the Winespring gushing out of it in a flow that never fails and strong
enough to knock a man down. The Winespring Water runs swiftly off to the
east, willows dotting its banks. Two low, railed footbridges cross the
stream, connecting both sides of the Green.

presumably to allow him to shoe horses comfortably during bad weather. The
Green extends to the north and east, intersected by a broad stream of
water. A round pothole in the midst of the grassy expanse indicates the
spot where during the Bel Tine festival, the women of the village erect the
Spring Pole to dance and sing around.
