Fail!
Re: Fail!
After that last thread, I realised I shouldn't have said anything because I'm here to pk and hang out with my friends on the game, not get into online arguments with anybody.
So please Jaster/Rig/whoever else was offended (or whatever reaction you prefer - not trying to presume anything) by that - take this peace offering - I'm sorry that I objected to how you guys said some things and escalated that discussion. In future, I'm going to do my best to steer clear of commenting on anything non-IC or non-PK-related, even if it sounds offensive/bothers me. I've accepted that this space is what it is and I should tune out the stuff I find offensive.
Hope to see you on the battlefield.

Re: Fail!
Returning oldbie, and three things.
1) I came to WotMUD after being a player and later imm on a mud that had a noPK option. The first lesson I learned coming here was that there is no place that is truly safe. Even idiling in clan quarters is a dangerous practice. Yes, it sucks to have to restable a horse, buy a new pet, etc, just because something came up IRL. Sometimes that RL thing comes up when you're out in the middle of the forest and the only thing to do is drop link and pray it flags you as linkdead. The worst is when you think the RL thing is going to take "just a minute" and you're very wrong and very dead. It sucks that a person can't be safe in a city square should that last occur, but that's the nature of this game. And if you're a clanned character, the only excuse for idiling in your own city square IS such a situation as the last.
2) "Honor" in this game comes in players like Rig, who coming upon me exping an incog newbie (with me letting him lead to stay in the aggro spot), realizing the guy he just bashed is a youngling vs a worthy PK opponent, focusing on me and then not giving hard chase after I disengaged/fled once the youngling was safe (he can't have given *that* hard of chase, I ain't that good at running!). It's not something to be *expected* out of your enemies. They might realize the situation (afk, newbie party, etc) and elect to target another group for their PK, or they might like your kit enough to get it too before moving on. I fully expected to die, and deserved to if I couldn't defend myself or run well enough. Now, whether there are RP consequences for sworn Aes Sedai sleep-stabbing people who haven't made a threatening gesture to them in that particular encounter, or if the Oaths sworn in-game allow for killing of Tower Wanteds on sight as "presumed to be threatening".... that's a question for the Sedai, which I am not. I do think it's actually questionable from a book-perspective, if Alanna Sedai wasn't able to kill the Child who killed her Warder in revenge because of the Oaths.
3) This thread is supposed to be for funny fails and give us a laugh to remember it's just a game, and either way, the ACS was defended and the player saved by someone responding to the Amador narrs. I'm not a mod, but I'd request that we either move this to another thread or someone else quickly fail something they should have landed and post about it to change the topic.

Re: Fail!
For his honor's sake, I'll just say he looked at me and saw I didn't load what he wanted, so moved on to better pickings. ;) Aren't we humans walking talking smobs for the DS? ;)Zarth wrote:Rig is actually very bad and was trying his hardest to Chase and kill you.
