I lost again, but there was hope. From feeling rattled/chased down and unable to control the pk, I had got him to crit before I died. It was still mostly a cakewalk for him, but I was able to control the PK to some degree. And right at the end, there had been a tiny window of opportunity.

Epilogue

One of the most intense fights I've been in. I went from losing against him at Kajin in two minutes to killing him by a whisker with no mob support and where HE had to use a patrol. This fight taught me that it CAN be done. It took a LOT of work and several tries but I CAN beat 40 ping with 400 ping. It wasn't about making zero mistakes. It was about the right strategy, and a willingness to accept a degree of risk as inevitable. Defensive play was no use in this fight, and even semi-offensive wasn't enough. Outdamage outdamage outdamage.

For many, this isn't "real pk" because 1) he returned my gear when I died each time, 2) he kept it 1v1 which allowed me to zerk and get away with it, and 3) I got repeat attempts to try to win. I also know that Stomper has probably forgotten this fight because for most good players on a good link, I am not a challenge to 1v1. But for me it was a wotmud MOMENT to be able to (finally) win against a really good and aggressive player who also has a much faster link.

Long log, and took me a while to put it together. Hope it was a fun read for whoever waded through it.

It's a fun read. Was really rooting for you at the end. The kill hit being unbashed makes it even better!
