I do hope they stick as close to the books as possible. They will lose me very quickly if they turn Mat into a girl, Min into a gay male, Lan female etc ...

Setting my expectations at mid-level or really low. There's only been a handful of book-to-live-action epic fantasies that are good to watch and generate money with in the past 2 decades, and the rest are either flops, cancelled or entirely forgotten. I can no longer think of possible successful combinations of script + budget + actors' physical traits + direction, etc, etc.

People thought shock tactics worked after GoT, and shows killed off characters, showed bewbies and still didn't get any boost. Book deviation also has little effect. Maybe it's how you make the world seem vast? Legend of the Seeker and Shannara failed here, relying on recycled and rotated woodland shots.

Yeah, this is going to fail Legend of the Seeker hard.

Looked more in to this because even though I may say my expectations are low, i secretly and desperately hope that I'm wrong.

However...not off to a great start.
Show runner is Rafe Judkins...who I had no idea who that was.

I still secretly think they have no idea what the plot for Wheel of Time is.

Am wary because I keep seeing "only women can channel" which... hm...

And am leery of this too.

That said I've seen tweets of the people working on the show and it looks like they are actually reading the books so there's that at least.

I read the evil protagonist Will be a myrddraal named Razhak. He Will have a sidekick named Rig for comic relief. The first person to die Will be Some trolloc named Kryyg, I heard that cause of death Will be him Getting shot with an arrow by Some unnamed farmer from the Two Rivers

I mean if you go to the books no one likes or trusts Aes Sedai. So the "shadowy organisation" part is kind of true. Remember our little game world is a lot different.

Guess we can only hope though...
