Lugard Brokers.
Lugard Brokers.
Sorry, not sure where else to post this.
I like the Lugard Brokers because I can find a lot of the real low end stuff that seems to be just left over from smob groups on sale.
Just wondering if the the prices for some of the items can maybe be looked at. There are items there that no one ever seems to deposit and are thus never available for purchase. My belief is that the prices are too low and therefore no one considers it worth their time to put these items up for sale especially when clan trinkets are now worth 5 vials for a trade in etc.
The ones I really notice are:
Red Robes - 150
Earthen Mantles - 150
Etched Shields - 75
Albeit, I only ever really want to buy a Red Robe but I have never seen any there.

Re: Lugard Brokers.
What prices do you suggest?
Also, then likely the obsidian pendants, shimmering chains of gold and so on would need to be upped as well, so a price suggestion for that would be handy too.

Re: Lugard Brokers.
Red Robe - 200 gcs
Mantle - 150 gcs
(Or 175 each)
Obsidian pendants - 300 gcs
Shimmering Chains - 250 gcs
(Or 275 each)
Etched shields - 125 gcs
That would make vials worth 60 (or 55) crowns each.

Re: Lugard Brokers.
I based my numbers on the fact that an entire abs set can be bought for 500 gold crowns.
A single trinket (obsidian) can't be worth 500 crowns (an entire abs set). So maybe it would be worth a few pieces at best, which is 300.
And I worked my way down from there. Red robe > Mantle. Obsidian > G-chain.

Re: Lugard Brokers.
Wasn't there a full list of items and their prices in a post somewhere...? Couldn't find it to compare.
Re: Lugard Brokers.
Theid, not sure I'm understanding you correctly, but I don't think an abs set is worth more than a sid at all. I can't think of anyone who would pay 500 gc for an abs set. In fact, that 75 or 125 or whatever it is to convert a single piece of armor to abs eq isn't worth it either - except for shiner really. Would make sense to have something like 100-150 gc for a basic abs set I think.
(I know some people are rolling in coin, but those people would have zero problems getting basic or even full sets!) Abs is by definition easy to pick up and re-eq.
Sids on the other hand are quite sought out, and I think the farming types would pay higher amounts - 300 gc seems a nice price since it's expensive but doable for someone who really wants it.

Re: Lugard Brokers.
@Isabel, I think your perception of what people can and will pay is off. Case in point, 109 people have bought sets from the weary merchant, both dodge and abs.
Re: Lugard Brokers.
Hi Isabel, a full abs set can be bought from a weary merchant for 500 crowns in game.
I based my idea of that fact.
I could be wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen a trade of a full abs set for 1 obsidian pendant before. But I'm not the reference for trading so someone else will have to chime in for what they feel the value of 1 obsidian pendant is. And to simplify this:
To use a full abs set as a marker of worth. And that marker being 500 gold crowns, where in the scale of worth would you place 1 obsidian pendant?

Re: Lugard Brokers.
Right what I mean is that marker of 500 gc for an abs set is completely off. I would never pay that. Abs dies much more and abs weapons need warding so absers arent going to be flush with coin to pay 500 for a set when they die - abs-olutely not.
Re: Lugard Brokers.
I like the brokers a lot.
No way to let people decide what price they want to ask for when they put the item up for sale, I suppose.
Would it be possible to reverse things a bit and also let people put up gold for a future purchase, and then others can see what people are in need of? IE someone needs an etched but none are for sale, they give gold to the broker and make an order for one - then another player can check the orders (just like we check the shop inventory now) and give the broker the items in exchange for the deposited gold. Person that needs the shield gets the item when they check to see if their order is filled. I think you'd see quite a bit of use out of that.
e: I tend to spend my gold as soon as I get it rather than saving up, but I would consider paying 200-400gc for a better-than-Kandori trinket or a cbelt. I would probably not pay 500gc for abs or dodge set without trinkets nor belt. It's kind of just the nature of markets that everyone has their own price that they are willing to pay based on how in need they are of something. Some clan chests are full of that dodge set so no one in that clan is going to pay 500gc, ever. Someone else who is in a pinch and has a maxed out bank account wouldn't think twice.
