PK Behavior

Post by Alaina » Fri Oct 06, 2017 8:38 am

Is it really necessary that we need to be so cruel to each other when pking? And you know who you are.

If people don't find someone to be a good pker--then fine--but why do we have to be so cruel about it? It's a game and some people are better at it than others; is that a reason to be mean?

Being down right rude and angry with each other is a great way to bring down the morale on the game and chase players away.

If you're an amazing PKer, that does not give you the right to treat people as inferior; nor does it mean that you are the end all be all.

Remember to be humble people.

Because Rig should have learned how to pk before he learned how to understand LS yells

You obviously missed the point of this post.

I personally agree with Alaina.

We should be fostering an atmosphere of inclusion and friendliness, even with the enemy.

I want this game to grow and prosper again, but it seems that although it is much nicer and friendlier by and large the game still has its share of toxic and vitriolic people that are much more noticeable when there's only 20 people on tops.

I got the point I just disagree.

When Sazi is doing his terrible impression of a fade it’s our civic duty to let him know he’s the worst

Speaking of PK behavior, how about some self-awareness in general?

1) Whine about not getting PK.
2) Sit cowering inside FD/RK when there's PK to be had or doing stuff to kill PK (horse stab/contagion, etc.)

Pick one.

1) Winning at all costs (like, say, sitting AFK 24/7 until you hear someone is low or you have overwhelming advantage)
2) Whining about winning at all costs (like, say, not understanding game mechanics and thinking they did something untoward)

Pick one.

1) Yelling about people being pussies.
2) Being a total well-proportioned felid.

Pick one. Or, you know, neither.

At this point, this game misses self-aware mediocrity. Not the current spell of mediocrity that's convinced itself it's amazing, but the actual people who knew where they stood and tried to improve because they felt like they could and had something to prove. And dung, some of them got genuinely better. So as far as the PK goes on this game, it's less about "good" and "bad" right now and more about "actually trying" and "actually cowering" and pretending you've got better stuff to do on a dead game than PK when you describe yourself as a PKer.

I'm not discussing the quality of PK and activity. I'm discussing people's manners and how they interact with one another.

Let it not be more than what it is.

Let's start acting like a community that cares about our players and let us start investing in being more kind. That's all I'm asking.

Oh, so you want to solve a problem without addressing the root of it? Neat, I'm sure that'll work. Well, good luck.

And I don't think you understood my post if you think it's about the quality of PK. Lack of self-awareness and hypocrisy creates a dearth of quality people (at least in how they are viewed by others) and people don't give a dung about people they perceive as hypocritical and unlikable. That's where animosity comes from, not their "PK abilities".

Agree with Alaina and Daal. I've been involved in pk where there is excessive trash talk and it's not fun. People play how they play and they're not here for YOUR entertainment so if you feel you have a right to chastise and call people out for how they play, I think you might be part of the problem. It really would be a better game and we'd get better pk if we all showed a bit more sportsmanship. It starts with the attitudes.
