Exp mobs with emote damage

Post by Quantalex » Thu Aug 10, 2017 4:28 pm

Is this something that will be re-evaluated? While I find these emotes a fun idea to help give the mobs some life to them as they are otherwise mundane, I wanted to express my thoughts that emote damage should be something only available to smobs, instead of standard exp mobs. Or maybe, downed in damage and/or execution frequency.

- great vine (constricts)
- giant ants (splits, bite)
- snapping gator (sweeps)
- woad (kicks)
- a massive ram
- rhinoceros (?)
- shadow mauler (lightning)
- mobs in kennel keeper zone (bites)

At least the ram is that way for a singular, temporary purpose. If we choose to leave it in place permanently it is my intention to consider slight changes before hand. The other mobs could probably stand to be looked at.

I agree. More death is good, particularly by deathtraps, drowning, pk, zerking, mobbing, jumping out, rbm challenges and such.

Less mob deaths. No one who PKs wants to die to mobs. Especially while they are XPing.

I don't mind emote damage, but I've never been too keen on the death traps. Placing them in hard to reach area's of high difficulty is fine if done with finesse. Throwing in dts for the sake of more dts is not a good move to make.

Are we still worried about mob rips given that every boot there is a garunteed chit out there to give a bonus multiplier for expers?

10 years ago sure, but now it is kind of redundant as exping to 51 is so easy its a joke.

Emote damage needs either diminishing returns or a cooldown between uses. Ran into a few mobs that emoted every single round once past a certain hp threshold.

I like this suggestion. Unsure if mob weaving is considered emote damage but I've been blinded and spiked 4 times in 1 instant round while fighting kural which seemed a little buggy
