Chester Bennington dead, Linkin Park frontman

Post by Sarryn » Thu Jul 20, 2017 6:16 pm

Crazy another great vocalist apparently takes his own life. This isn't 100% confirmed but his bandmate apparently said it's true. While I haven't followed them really for what seems like ages. I grew up to these guys in high school. Say what you want about any band or type of music. Respect for anyone who has that type of ability to portray his craft. He had an amazing rangy voice. Apparently fortune and fame were not enough to cull his demons. It's crazy these guys take there own lives. Is it the drugs, all the attention, the money? Who's to say, but just like Layne Staley and Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell and many more. It's a terrible thing to see such a talent lost. Your work will live on Chester, respect man. Sad days, R.I.P.

I never really listened to them, but it brought back all the sadness of Chris Cornell. The similarities and way they passed away. It is so very sad, people so full of talent and hope.

Well it's actually Chris Cornell's birthday. Or would have been :( Chris was a huge inspiration to Chester. I can't help but think this had a major influence to do it today of all days. Just sad stuff.

He tried so hard and got so far. But in the end, it doesn't even matter.

Oh damn I didn't even realise. Makes it extra poignant and sad.

Me and a buddy back in 2002/2003 used to get drunk every Sunday night at this bar in Columbus OH and karaoke their song "In the End".
He would do the vocals and I would do the rap part... great memories.

Yeah it's tragic. Guy was so talented. I hope wherever he is, he's finds the peace that eluded him in life. They did have some pretty good songs.
