What's next?

Some of you are probably interested in where things are going, now and in the future. I won’t tell you the destination, but I can tell you the direction that things will be moving in.
We’re going to be consolidating the playspace, making the world feel more intimate. You may see entire portions of the world disappear. You will find new means of navigating the world, and new perils within the world you know. World quests, supermobs, and other world activities will be relocated to be closer to the center of the world. The center of the world, roughly, is Whitebridge. We’ll be refocusing stuff to within up to 10 zones of that, and focusing on making the world fit within a few minutes travel-time to get to any point on the map (though you may have to use current, or new means of travel to reach some of them, depending on your race and starting point).
My goal is to make the world feel far more deadly, and hopefully, far more lively at the same time. I also hope to find opportunities to supplement in-game RP as often as possible. I’ve felt that we drove players to fit a role we ascribed for them in the past, and we’re going to take a role of a Dungeon Master moving forward, unless we find situations we must step in to.
We’ll be rebalancing weapons, and my goal is to make each weapon class feel unique, and useful. I would ideally like to see people putting thought into their setups, and long blades no longer filling the role of ‘well, if all else fails…’. This will take time, feedback, and patience. Many incoming changes will require those three, as well.
Above all else, I’m a player, and my goal is to give us all a game we enjoy playing.
