Proud to be a white man. No, wait. Just proud to be a man. Wait. No. Guess I can't be proud about anything.

Don't think you understand the concept of pride. Ever walked down a regular street at a regular hour and had people mock you, molest you, rape you, maybe kill you, and no police or judge takes that seriously?

Pride is about people who deal with that kind of dung every day and that kind of danger every day having one day when they come together and say - I'm going to walk down this road and feel safe and happy today.

Grudge it all you want if you don't have the generosity in your heart to let people who have nothing to do with you have a moment. It's a day and month to celebrate for us.

Post says pride month, you say a day. Not sure what this is even about. #proud

I hope when the aliens come and try to eat us we can all put these divisions aside and relate to each other as humans instead of blacks, whites, gays, whatevers...

Morris - if that's a genuine question - pride is celebrated on different days in different parts of the world. June is usually the month when it happens in most places, in honour of the Stonewall Riots. But in different locations other historical reasons impact when it is celebrated (though largely it is June), for instance in Johannesburg it is in October to coincide with with the end of the apartheid era on Oct 13 (because these are interconnected movements against discrimination and for freedom).

In NY it was last weekend, in my city it's this weekend.
