HELP! Locked Docx file.

Hey all,

So I know this is a long shot, but figured I would ask here, as we are a community of nerds. My buddy is doing his masters thesis, and somehow his Docx file got locked. He didn't lock it himself, but all 3 of his backups seem to be locked and he cannot get into it. He is freaking out, as months of work is basically worthless. Anyone know any way to crack it? or what to do?

Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!
