I was having a friendly chat with a statter today and it gave me a wonderful idea for a new thread on these boards to generate some laughs.

What are some lyrics that you misheard and have been singing incorrectly for many years until you somehow realized you had them incorrect?

First one that comes to my mind is Panama by Van Halen. For so long I was singing "Cannnnonball". It wasn't until car stereo technology advanced far enough to display artist/song names that I realized he was singing "pannnama" (that name of the track ffs!)

Since around 1998 when I first heard the song "It's a hard knock life" by Jay Z, I always thought it went "It's a hard knock life, for us. It's a hard knock life, for us! Daddy he says, we got tricked. Daddy he says, we got kicked!"

While the lyric goes Steada treated, steada kisses..

Mondegreens are quite humorous
