In the UK, at least, a Rig is a horse with one or both testicles not having descended and remaining in the abdominal cavity. Apparently they look like a Gelding but - because of the testosterone still being produced, act like a Stallion. The technical term is unilateral (one) or bilateral (both) cryptorchidism - which translates effective as "hidden ball(s)"! Perhaps this character should, after that anti-German WWII Musical Hall song, be renamed "Goebels"?
