Failed weaves
Failed weaves
Is it just me or weave fail rate got higher?
It always been annoying to fail weaves in a fight but failing 4-5 in a row is a new level.
I dont mean rare ocassions of unlucky series of channeling, this happens daily.
All the weaves are practiced to 92%-93%. These numbers used to be enough to land 90% of weaves.
But these days I fail almost a half of my damage weaves, which sounds silly.
Does anyone have the same problem or knows whats the deal with fails? Will it significantly help if I prac weaves up to 99%?

Re: Failed weaves
I've wondered about this too. I can't pinpoint the time it was changed, but I was already having trouble like a year ago. Some days it's so bad I just rent.
Re: Failed weaves
Statistics is a thing. It's human nature to notice the fails and not notice when it doesn't fail, especially when it happens multiple times in a row and/or especially when it fails on a killing weave. If you prac your main dmg weaves to 90-93% (as I do), it isn't uncommon or improbable for you to fail somewhat often.
That said, no I haven't noticed any sudden change to weave failings, but maybe I'm just not paying enough attention. People chat about weave fail rate suddenly changing pretty often though, and have for as long as I've been playing :p People also claim stab landing, bash formula, and everything else changes randomly. I find it difficult to believe that we have no access to actual coding, but Flash is hanging out in the background, tweaking fail rates and grinning maniacally.

Re: Failed weaves
As Zizek said, unlikely series are always easier to spot/remember when it's for the negative outcome. That being said, I did some quite extensive testing of weave fail rates at different prac % 5-6 years ago. If I can find that data I can redo it now and compare.
Re: Failed weaves
I would be curious to see that as well because I was also wondering the same thing.
Re: Failed weaves
I noticed as well. Wvd and refresh and cure serious wounds which I get to 95ish, have been failing 3-4 times in a row for the past week or two.
Re: Failed weaves
I did this while an accepted after weaves "appeared" to start failing more. The % was spot on within a few %. Also, you tend to fail several in a row, which feels worse, but that's just how number rolls work sometimes.medina wrote:As Zizek said, unlikely series are always easier to spot/remember when it's for the negative outcome. Now, if you want to start talking about who changed failed flees 6-8 years ago, I absolutely agree this was changed upstairs with nothing but anecdotal evidence to prove it.
Edit: Think we tested with lightball and create food, and it wasn't just me. Does that sound familiar Kathala? I'm pretty sure it was before I started logging everything.
Re: Failed weaves
I don't really play any channies so perhaps I shouldn't even be commenting here... but I tend to agree with zizek on this.
It's the same reason I can fail 5 bashes in a row against another 17db abs user.. just bad streak of luck.

Re: Failed weaves
I dont say Amador outpost is bugged because fighting there almost always had a negative outcomemedina wrote:As Zizek said, unlikely series are always easier to spot/remember when it's for the negative outcome.

I've never seen more than two fails in a row over my channie career and it seems that long series of failures are common these days. Which is strange.
Hehe. This could be the case, but I suspect it could be an undesirable side effected of another tweak/change/coding.Zizek wrote:Flash is hanging out in the background, tweaking fail rates and grinning maniacally.
Edit: I dont think it is good thing to compare weaves and skills. There are factors for skills to land(ob/notice/terrain/mythical bmi/etcetc), while nothing affects weaves in this manner.
Re: Failed weaves
I've been failing more too, you lucky ducks. Looking at you Xafelar.
TBH it's keeping things interesting and I am not complaining.
