SMOBs and Loads Info

This is not a thread about what smobs we the players feel don't load well enough, but what we see as seeking information to hit, difficulty for groups, and loads. It is intended to be a general thread of sharing information that players can use for those that don't go to to WoT wiki or want to edit WoT wiki for.

Whether someone sees this thread to be about changing smobs or rares is seeing more than what it is for.

Whether information can be gleaned from this thread on the opinion of whether smobs or rares should be changed is their own opinion and not that of this thread.

This thread is about information, pros and cons, and opinion on how to do succeed or fail against Smobs for their respective loads. Any individual posts ranting about worth of the smob is their individual opinion and not of this thread(and may be deleted).

Now...

Moridin I would like to hit again. Has anyone hit him recently and how did it go. Or is this secret FOFY?

My post is more about knowing what a smob loads, than smob strategies, but whatever happened to this database?

http://smobdb.herokuapp.com/

It was extremely useful and easy to add information. For those that never used it, you would simply copy and paste looting the corpse and getting anything out of the smobs containers (purse, pouch, etc), then it would compile the information and add it to previous hits automatically.

I'm not database/internet savvy, so no idea how difficult it would be to recreate this.

For what it's worth, I've been instructing Wiki contributors to just dump load info on each smob's Discussion page, and then I myself add it to the page with appropriate formatting.

It's not ideal, and at some point I'd like to add input forms to the wiki along with code to compile it, but it is functional enough, and I've added database functionality such that item pages query the mob pages to automatically update.

The other advantage is longevity. I've seen many websites come and go since I've played, and lots of info lost as a result. Wikia seems pretty stable, and I periodically back up the data just in case.

I do agree it was a nice site, though.
